  • Patent number: 9756561
Abstract: A method for providing connection type information in a Mobile Management Entity (MME), and a method for controlling radio resources in a Home (e)NodeB system are discussed. The method for providing connection type information according to an embodiment includes receiving an Attach Request message from a Home (e)NodeB. The Attach Request message includes a Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) ID and an access mode of the Home (e)NodeB, when the Home (e)NodeB is a hybrid cell. The Attach Request message includes a CSG ID but does not include an access mode of the Home (e)NodeB, when the Home (e)NodeB is not a hybrid cell. The method for providing connection type information further includes determining whether the UE is a CSG member or a non CSG member, if the Home (e)NodeB is a hybrid cell; and transmitting a connection accept message when the Home (e)NodeB is the hybrid cell.

  • Patent number: 9713057
Abstract: Techniques are described for selected internet protocol traffic offload (SIPTO) support at an assisting eNodeB. A connection may be established between a first eNodeB and a UE, and it may be determined whether a connection exists or is pending between the UE and a second eNodeB. A message may be transmitted to a mobility management entity (MME), the message associating a network address of the second eNodeB with SIPTO connectivity for the UE.

  • Patent number: 9693267
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for mobility management at a network management center. The method comprises indicating a target access node to a terminal device being served by a source access node, in response to determining that the terminal device needs to be handed over to the target access node. The method also comprises transmitting network-related context information of the terminal device to the target access node that receives terminal-related context information of the terminal device from the terminal device. By virtue of this method, the access node may be made with a simple and low cost structure; deployment of access nodes may be more flexible and handover of the terminal device may be more efficient.

  • Patent number: 9661534
Abstract: The invention provides a system and method for repairing corrupt security information. At a serving node in a telecommunications network, security capabilities of a terminal are received when the terminal registers with the serving node. The received security capabilities are stored. A path switch request message is received from a target base station following an X2 handover request sent from a source base station to the target base station for handover of the terminal, the path switch request including the security capabilities of the terminal. The serving node determines whether the security capabilities of the terminal stored in the storage medium should be sent to the target base station. If so, the serving node sends the stored security capabilities of the terminal to the target base station for use in reselecting security algorithms to be used in communications between the target base station and terminal following the handover.

  • Patent number: 9661564
Abstract: A method and apparatus of performing selective internet protocol (IP) selective offload (SIPTO) or local IP access (LIPA) is disclosed. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) receives a broadcast message from a Node-B. Then the WTRU receives a message from the Node-B that SIPTO service, or LIPA service is available for that WTRU. The WTRU then communicates using the SIPTO or LIPA service. A method an apparatus for receiving a paging message for SIPTO or LIPA services is also disclosed. The paging message includes an indicator that indicates that the message is for SIPTO or LIPA communications. The indicator may be a temporary mobile subscriber identity (TMSI) assigned by the network specifically for SITPO or LIPA communications. The indicator may also be a single bit designated to indicate that a paging message is a for SIPTO or LIPA traffic.

  • Patent number: 9655038
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and a network device for efficient mobile client device roaming in a wireless local area network with multiple access points. Specifically, a network device determines a first received signal strength value for a first set of signals transmitted between a client device and a first access point during a first time period; and, determines a second received signal strength value for a second set of signals transmitted between a client device and the access point during a second time period. Based on the first and the second signal strength values, the network device computes a change in signal strength value corresponding to wireless communication between the client device and the first access point. Based on the change in signal strength value, the network device selects the access point from a plurality of access points for providing network access to the client device.
