Specific Paging Technique Patents (Class 455/458)
  • Publication number: 20150005019
Abstract: A paging method includes, when needing to page a user equipment (UE) according to service requirements, a mobile switching center (MSC) analyzing a user identification if finding that subscriber data are lost at present, judging whether the UE has a possibility of residing in a long term evolution (LTE) network, if yes, finding out one or more mobility management entities (MMEs) which are overlapped with the coverage area of the MSC itself, and sending a paging message for the UE to the MMEs. An MSC includes a first module, a second module, a third module and a fourth module. With the paging method and apparatus provided, the UE in the LTE can be successfully paged under the condition that a visitor location register (VLR) loses the subscriber data and a home location register (HLR) fails to return an MME identification.

Abstract: A data extraction method includes: obtaining a log in which control messages for a plurality of calls are mixed; and executing, by a processor, in parallel a plurality of extraction processes each extracting a control message for a different call to be extracted from the log. The plurality of extraction processes each includes: a first process that includes: determining whether a candidate message that satisfies a certain condition based on the call among the control messages is a paging message; and storing order information for specifying an order of the call among the plurality of calls, when determined that the candidate message is a paging message; and a second process that includes: determining, after the first process on the plurality of extraction processes has been completed, whether the candidate message determined to be the paging message is the control message of the call, based on the order information.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a called recovery method, including: receiving, by a target mobile switching center MSC, a provide roaming number PRN message sent by a backup MSC corresponding to a faulty MSC, where the PRN message carries an instruction for initiating paging to a called terminal through a mobility management entity MME; and performing international mobile subscriber identity IMSI paging according to the instruction, so that an MME to which a called terminal is attached controls the called terminal to perform circuit switched fallback CSFB to complete a called connection. Correspondingly, the embodiments of the present invention further provide a mobile switching center and a called recovery system. This solves a problem that in an MSC pool architecture, called paging in a CS domain cannot be performed when a terminal corresponding to a faulty MSC is attached to an E-UTRAN, and improves paging reliability.

Abstract: In order to manage a neighbor list of neighboring base stations based on the location of a terminal communicating with a base station of a macrocell with femtocell deployments, the base station divides the macrocell in accordance with a predetermined standard of division, and generates a mobile neighbor advertisement message so as to periodically transmit the generated message to the terminal. At this time, the terminal identifies the current location thereof in the macrocell upon receipt of the pilot signals periodically transmitted from the base station of the macrocell. The terminal obtains information regarding the location of the terminal from the information regarding the femtocells deployed within the respective divided regions and information regarding macrocells neighboring the macrocell through using the mobile neighbor advertisement message to scan base stations.

  • Patent number: 8862161
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for selecting identifying numbers associated with a mobile station (MS) having multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs) such that the paging intervals for both identifying numbers are aligned. The MS having multiple SIMs may operate in a network via a particular radio access technology (RAT), such as Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) 1×RTT (1 times Radio Transmission Technology). By having aligned paging intervals, the MS may wake up only once during the paging cycles for the various identifying numbers rather than waking up multiple times, thereby reducing power consumption of the MS during idle mode compared to a conventional MS with multiple SIMs, and thus multiple identifying numbers.

Abstract: Prioritization of data traffic is a common technique for providing enhanced quality of service (QoS), allowing some traffic to reach its destination on an expedited basis without being obstructed or delayed by other lower-priority traffic. A mechanism is disclosed using the bearer architecture of the evolved packet core (EPC) to provide prioritization of traffic from specific packet data networks (PDNs), as well as over specific bearers. The priority information is requested by the mobile management entity (MME), which is commonly overloaded with traffic to and from multiple users and PDNs. In addition, a mechanism is provided for reducing the frequency of unwanted paging notifications for MMEs that are overloaded.
