  • Patent number: 10211889
Abstract: A re-configurable RF architecture includes both a 2×2 MIMO mode and a 1×2 MIMO mode The 2×2 MIMO mode includes a first RF chain coupled with a first dual band antenna and configured to both transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) using two different RF protocols. The 2×2 MIMO mode also includes a second RF chain coupled with a second dual band antenna and configured to both Tx and Rx using a single RF protocol. The first RF chain may be coupled with a third antenna configured for near field proximity sensing. The RF architecture is reversibly switchable from the 2×2 MIMO mode to the 1×2 MIMO mode when near field proximity detection is required. In the 1×2 MIMO mode the Tx/Rx capabilities of the second chain using the second dual band antenna are retained and the first chain is configured for Rx only capability using the third antenna.

  • Patent number: 10212652
Abstract: A storage unit stores therein a DPC table that is used to limit the intensity of output radio waves of an information processing apparatus. When a wireless module is connected, a determination unit acquires specific identification information which is held by the wireless module and which is related to an specific information processing apparatus which is connected the last time and determines whether there is a match to identification information on the own apparatus. When the determination unit determines that there is no match, a writing unit allows the wireless module to perform wireless communication by using the DPC table stored in the storage unit.

  • Patent number: 10200725
Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media are described for adjusting a bitrate for a data stream according to user consumption of the data stream. In embodiments, a computing device may determine a virtual resolution based on an absolute resolution of a display device associated with the computing device and a relative display size of the display device. The relative display size may be based on a user position and an absolute display size of the display device. The computing device may request data stream segments of a data stream encoded at a bitrate based on the virtual resolution, and provide the data stream segment for display on the display device. The virtual resolution may also be based on user attributes and/or device attributes. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile terminal with a call function or a texting function. The present invention controls the use of a mobile terminal by a manual operation because of an incoming call during movement. Location information indicating movement of a mobile terminal with a call or a message data exchange function is received by a GPS receiver, the distance and the movement speed are determined by using the measurement information of the two locations at every predetermined time, and whether or not the mobile terminal is moving in accordance with the movement speed is determined by a movement determination unit. When it is determined by the movement determination unit that the mobile terminal is moving, the display of incoming call information indicating an incoming call is set to non-displayed on the display unit, and at the same time, a notification sound from a speaker, etc. is invalid.

  • Patent number: 10181339
Abstract: Arrangements involving portable devices (e.g., smartphones and tablet computers) are disclosed. One arrangement enables a content creator to select software with which that creator's content should be rendered—assuring continuity between artistic intention and delivery. Another utilizes a device camera to identify nearby subjects, and take actions based thereon. Others rely on near field chip (RFID) identification of objects, or on identification of audio streams (e.g., music, voice). Some technologies concern improvements to the user interfaces associated with such devices. Others involve use of these devices in connection with shopping, text entry, sign language interpretation, and vision-based discovery. Still other improvements are architectural in nature, e.g., relating to evidence-based state machines, and blackboard systems. Yet other technologies concern use of linked data in portable devices—some of which exploit GPU capabilities. Still other technologies concern computational photography.
