Abstract: An IoT service of a provider network may be used to provision edge devices with duplicate device identifiers for edge devices that use a radio communication protocol (e.g., LoRaWAN). This may allow a service provider to accept legitimate registration requests from edge devices instead of automatically rejecting them. When the IoT service receives a registration request, the service determines whether there are other devices registered with the same device ID. If so, then the service determines whether to accept or reject the request. For example, the service may determine whether the number of duplicate device IDs being used for registered devices will remain within a predefined threshold if the device is registered. If so, then the service registers the device. Otherwise, the service rejects the request.

Abstract: This Application sets forth techniques for binding and dynamic provisioning of international mobile equipment identifier (IMEI) values with cellular wireless service profiles, such as subscriber identity modules (SIMS) on physical SIM (pSIM) cards and electronic SIMs (eSIMs) on an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) of the mobile wireless device. When pSIMs and/or eSIMs change on the mobile wireless device, e.g., based on installation, activation, deactivation, de-installation, etc., IMEI binding logic accounts for the changes and maps IMEI values to pSIMs and/or eSIMs as required. IMEI values can be assigned based on a history of bindings between IMEI values and ICCID values of one or more eSIMS on an eUICC. A most recently used or a newly assigned IMEI value can be associated with an eSIM. Whether to assign an identical IMEI value to multiple eSIMs depends on requirements of associated cellular wireless service subscriptions.

  • Patent number: 11580518
Abstract: If a user loses an electronic device that has the capability to conduct financial transactions, the user may report that the electronic device is lost using a lost-device software application to a management electronic device associated with a provider of the electronic device. In response to receiving this information, a disabling command is sent to a payment network associated with the financial account of the user to temporarily disable use of the electronic device to conduct the financial transactions. In particular, the electronic device may include a secure element that stores a payment applet for a financial account, and the disabling command may disable a mapping from a virtual identifier for the financial account to a financial primary account number. Subsequently, if the user finds the electronic device, the user may re-enable the capability (and, thus, the mapping) by providing authentication information to the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11556915
Abstract: This application relates to systems, methods, and apparatus for using a computing device to perform payment transactions while the computing device is operating in a low power wallet mode during a low battery state of the computing device. During a low power wallet mode, various subsystems are prevented from receiving current from a battery of the computing device, while a near field communication (NFC) system of the computing device is provided with an operating current for detecting target systems. A target system and the NFC system can communicate during the low power wallet mode of the computing device, thereby allowing a user of the computing device to conduct payment transactions when the computing device is in a low power wallet mode. Such payment transactions can be useful if the user is ever stranded without enough power to fully operate the computing device and needs to pay for transportation.
