The selection element transfers the selected graph from the long-term memory to a fast memory proximate a DSP. Further, the selection element reselects and transfers new graphs into the fast memory as needed.

    Abstract: The invention provides a radio circuit realizing a desired receiving characteristic even when a strong-level interfering wave is received and operating with small power when no interfering wave is received. The radio circuit comprises a receiving circuit for selecting a signal having a desired frequency from received signals and demodulating the signal, an input-power detector for detecting power P1 of the receiving circuit, a received-power detector for detecting power P2 of a signal selected by the receiving circuit, and a reception control circuit for controlling the receiving circuit. The reception control circuit controls the receiving circuit at a low distortion by increasing the power consumption of a circuit included in the receiving circuit and thereby expanding the linear operation range when the power P1 detected by the input-power detector is larger than a predetermined value t1 and the power P2 detected by the input-power detector is smaller than a predetermined value t3.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile display system with an improved backlight system. In one embodiment of the invention, the mobile display system comprises a mobile unit including a flat panel display, and a first backlight circuit for providing light to the display. The first backlight circuit includes a plurality of lights sources disposed near edges of the mobile unit and a single power supply for powering a pre-selected one of the light sources. The system also comprises a base station capable of being powered by an external power source. The base station includes a second backlight circuit that comprises at least one power supply for powering the plurality of light sources in the mobile unit when the mobile unit is attached to the base station. This invention keeps the weight and power consumption of the mobile unit low, but allows long battery life at the compromise of display surface light intensity while mobile and provides high brightness characteristics when docked.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a battery charger for cell phones which operates off the cigarette lighter receptacle of a vehicle. The battery charger includes a visual indication that is activated by electromagnetic induction from the ringing current that is generated when the cell phone receives an incoming call. An incoming call sensing circuit operates to receive the electromagnetic signal that includes the incoming call signal to the user's cell phone. The electromagnetic signal is filtered and rectified by a conditioning and activation circuit such that only an incoming call signal remains thereafter the incoming call signal is transmitted to a visual indicator circuit having at least one light source for causing the at least one light source to illuminate such that the user is alerted to the incoming call.
