Abstract: A position of a user equipment (UE) may be determined using downlink based solutions (e.g. OTDOA), uplink based solutions (e.g. UTDOA), or combined downlink and uplink based solutions (e.g. RTT). The serving gNBs may request neighboring gNBs to produce downlink reference signal transmissions to a target UE and/or measure uplink reference signal transmissions from the target UE. The serving gNB may receive the uplink reference signal measurements from neighboring gNBs and obtain an own uplink reference signal measurement and forward to the UE or another network entity all the uplink reference signal measurements. The UE may use the uplink reference signal measurements, along with the UE's own downlink reference signal measurements to determine RTTs. Abstract: An apparatus detects complex time-variant electromagnetic disturbances resulting from a high-altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) or solar storm. The device relies on a circuit (104, 1301) to monitor the input power lines (301, 401, 501) for sustained conducted electrical disturbances associated with the E3 phase of an EMP or solar storm. A separate circuit (105, 1302) monitors the power lines and the ambient environment (503) for transient electromagnetic pulse disturbances associated with the E1 and E2 phases of an EMP. When sustained electrical disturbances or transient electromagnetic pulse disturbances are detected, the apparatus provides a visual alarm (603. 609), audible alarm (608), and discrete indication signal (607) that can be used to disconnect (702) or redirect the flow of electrical power.

  • Patent number: 11984919
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a PIM correction circuit. In a base station, TX and RX RF changes, band pass filters, duplexers, and diplexers can have severe memory effects due to their sharp transition bandwidth from pass band to stop band. PIM interference, generated by the TX signals and reflected onto the RX RF chain will include these memory effects. These memory effects make PIM cancellation complex, requiring complicated computations and circuits. However, the embodiments herein use a PIM correction circuit that separates the memory effects of the TX and RX paths from the memory effects of PIM, thereby reducing PIM cancellation complexity and hardware implementation cost.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitter may identify a contention window for a no-energy-detection protocol for determining a channel availability for a data transmission. After the contention window expires, the transmitter may send a request message to a receiver. The receiver may measure a quality of the request message against a request threshold and transmit a response message if the measured quality exceeds the request threshold. The transmitter may then measure a quality of the response message against a response threshold. If the measured quality exceeds the response threshold, the transmitter may initiate a data transmission with the receiver. If the quality falls below the response threshold or the response message is not received, the transmitter may adjust the contention window and reattempt the no-energy-detection protocol. The contention window may also be adjusted based on an acknowledgement message received after the data transmission.

  • Patent number: 10917828
Abstract: A system including an entity of a home network configured to register geographical locations of users. On receiving a request to update the location of a user, the entity determines minimum quality of service parameters required of the visited network as a function of the service requested and of a profile of the user. These parameters and the updated quality of service of the visited network are taken into account by a traffic steering platform in order to give a positive or a negative response to the request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include a wireless communications device determining an inter-modulation distortion value between simultaneous communications on a first configuration of a first radio access network and a second configuration of a second radio access network, and dynamically switching between a non-standalone mode and a standalone mode of operation, based on the inter-modulation distortion value and a quality of service requirement for the standalone mode. The wireless communications device may also provide for time division multiplexing communications on a first RAT and a second RAT wherein only the first or second RAT is active during a period of time, and wherein the first RAT is an anchor for the second RAT.

  • Patent number: 10862599
Abstract: Systems and methods provide solutions for testing an 8Rx capable UE using test cases for 4Rx capable UEs. An example method establishes a connection from a first Tx source and a second Tx source to each of 8Rx antenna ports. The connection duplicates a fading channel from both the first Tx source and the second Tx source to each of the eight Rx antenna ports, and adds independent noise for each of the 8Rx antenna ports. One test scenario uses 4Rx supported RF bands by connecting four of the Rx ports with data from a system simulator, and the other four Rx ports are connected with zero input. Same requirements specified with 4Rx capable UEs are applied. Another test scenario uses 8Rx supported RF bands and applies lower dB SNR requirements than those specified for 4Rx tests.

Abstract: An echo delay tracking method includes obtaining, by a computing terminal, a current frame reference signal and a current frame collection signal; and identifying target frequency information in the current frame collection signal according to signal-to-noise ratios of the current frame collection signal at a plurality of frequencies. The target frequency information includes at least one target frequency that corresponds to a signal-to-noise ratio greater than a first preset threshold. The method also includes determining whether the current frame collection signal is a valid frame signal based on the target frequency information; and if yes, performing a cross-correlation operation of a signal component of the current frame reference signal corresponding to the target frequency and a signal component of the current frame collection signal corresponding to the target frequency. An echo delay value can be obtained according to a result of the cross-correlation operation.

  • Patent number: 10772097
Abstract: Configuration of a communication module based on determination of an idle time metric is described. In one embodiment, signal strength data representative of composite signal strength indicators of a group of frequency channels utilized by the communication module is determined. A composite indicator of the composite signal strength indicators can be employed that comprises multiple signal strength indicators, sampled over time, of a first channel of the group of frequency channels. Respective values for the composite indicator can be assigned in response to comparisons of the multiple signal strength indicators to one or more defined threshold(s). An idle time metric of the first channel can be determined based on a combination of the respective values and a best channel from among the group of frequency channels can be determined based on the idle time metric. The communication module can be updated to communicate via the best channel.
