  • Patent number: 7715885
Abstract: A power saving system in distributed wireless personal area network and a method thereof are disclosed. A PS (Power Save) anchor that provides information about hibernating devices to a beacon group through power save information elements in media access control for a wireless personal area network based on a wireless mobile ad-hoc network. Accordingly, all devices in the given wireless personal area network can schedule their active modes and hibernating modes according to hibernating intervals of destination devices with which the devices want to communicate. This can effectively reduce the necessity of the devices' waiting for the destination devices to awake from the hibernating mode as the devices maintain their idle state, and thus the power consumption of all the devices in the network can effectively be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7254375
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for verifying a command in a vehicle remote communication system. The remote communication system includes a remote transmitter, and a vehicle body having a receiver module and a control module connected by a communication bus disposed therein. The control module is in communication with at least one vehicle system. The remote transmitter transmits an activation signal that is received and decoded by the receiver module. The receiver module transmits a first message along the communication bus that is received by the control module. The control module transmits an acknowledgment message that is received by the receiver module. The receiver module re-transmits the first message that is received by the control module. The control module then initializes a vehicle system command to the vehicle system, thereby preventing an inadvertent activation of the vehicle system.

  • Patent number: 7245997
Abstract: A smart key carried with a user is provided with switches for monitoring a vehicle in remote places, such as a departure-time monitor switch, a return-time monitor switch and an all item monitor switch. The switches are associated with monitor information indicating various vehicle states. When the departure-time monitor switch is operated, the cellular phone receives monitor information such as parking position, rainfall state, etc. useful to the user at departure time from the vehicle. Similarly, when the return-time monitor switch is operated, the cellular phone receives monitor information useful at return time such as door open/closed state and lock state. When the all item monitor switch is operated, the cellular phone receives monitor information of all monitor items.

  • Patent number: 7212791
Abstract: A transmitter and method to output a stable output signal having low distortion by adjusting a delay time of an amplitude signal path and a phase signal path. In an amplitude phase extracting part, amplitude data and phase data are extracted from a transmit data signal and outputted. The amplitude of the amplitude data is modulated in an amplitude modulating part and an amplitude modulating signal is outputted; the phase of the phase data is modulated and a phase modulating signal is outputted. In a non-linear amplifying part, the phase modulating signal is multiplied by the amplitude modulating signal to output an RF signal with a prescribed gain amplified. A delay part provided in a pre-stage of the amplitude modulating part and a delay part provided in a pre-stage of the phase modulating part, respectively, adjusts the delay time of an amplitude signal path and a phase signal path.

  • Patent number: 7197298
Abstract: A radio-communication terminal device having an antenna unit incorporating an antenna element and an authenticator for authenticating the connected antenna element, and a transceiver unit that includes a transmission circuit, a reception circuit, an authentication detector and a communication controller. The antenna unit further includes a first antenna connector and a first connector. The transceiver unit includes a second connector that connects to the first connector when the first antenna connector connects to the second antenna connector. The authentication detector detects the authentication of the authenticator when the first connector is connected to the second connector. The communication controller prevents the transmission circuit from transmitting signals when the authenticator cannot authenticate the connection to the antenna unit.

Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for providing local time to a mobile vehicle. A time information message is received at an in-vehicle telematics unit, which monitors for a time-update trigger event. A time-update message is sent from the telematics unit to a vehicle bus in response to the time-update trigger event. A computer usable medium with suitable computer program code is employed to provide local time to a mobile vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7190968
Abstract: In a foldable cellular phone, an image taken and provided by a camera portion is displayed on a first or second display portion for previewing before storage in a third memory. The second display portion displays the image in the opposite directions corresponding to a folded state and an open state, respectively. In either the folded state or the open state, a second display driver portion rotates the image by 180 degrees to display the image on the second display portion for previewing. Although the direction of the image displayed on the second display portion is inverted depending on the state selected between the folded state and the open state, the second display portion displays the image in a constant direction with respect to a user in both the folded state and the open state of the cellular phone during the previewing operation.

  • Patent number: 7181174
Abstract: A wireless transmit-only apparatus (20) has a controller (21) that responds to a user interface 25 by correlating specific user input with a corresponding characterizing transmission parameter(s) as is stored in a memory (35) and by selecting a corresponding resonant device (31 and 32). The latter devices serve to drive the PLL control input of a phase locked loop (23) to thereby influence the transmission carrier frequency of a wireless transmitter (22). In a preferred embodiment, at least one of the resonant devices comprises a mechanically resonant device such as a surface acoustic wave device, a crystal resonator, or a ceramic resonator.

  • Patent number: 7174137
Abstract: A wireless transmit-only apparatus (20) can be comprised of a controller (21) that selectively controls which of a plurality of resonant devices (24 and 25) are utilized to influence the transmission carrier frequency of a transmitter (26). In a preferred embodiment at least one of the resonant devices comprises a mechanically resonant device (24) such as a surface acoustic wave device, a crystal resonator, or a ceramic resonator. In a preferred embodiment, a user interface (22) includes a plurality of independently assertable inputs. The controller responds to assertion of one of this inputs by selecting a particular set of characterizing transmission parameters (as are stored, for example, in a memory (23) and using those characterizing transmission parameters to transmit a message using a transmission carrier frequency as corresponds to use of a co-selected resonant device.
