Abstract: A helical-acting snap roll for a harvesting header having straight flutes which are free of a formed twist. The snap roll includes elongated straight flutes that extend substantially the entire length of the snap roll but that are parallel misaligned with a central axis of rotation of the snap roll. A pair of opposing and counter-rotating snap rolls of the present invention chops and pulls crop stalks passing therebetween downward toward the ground while also creating a helical action such that the crop stalks are conveyed rearward.
Abstract: The combine includes internal apparatus incorporated into a system for threshing corn kernels from cobs, positively de-husking the cobs, cleaning other crop residue or material from the kernels, and direct the cleaned kernels and de-husked cobs to desired locations. The de-husking apparatus can include a modified type of husking bed, and is disposed for receiving a flow of grain, cobs and other residue from threshing apparatus of the combine, and positively grasping and pulling the remaining husks from the cobs and downwardly through the husking bed for disposal such as by discharge from the combine onto a field, with or separately from the other residue.
Abstract: A conveyor system for receiving corn cobs with husks still attached thereto after harvesting of the corn from the cobs, and detaching the husks from the cobs, including a conveyor inclined at an angle of at least about 30 degrees and bounding a passage for receiving a flow of the cobs including the husks attached thereto, the conveyor including apparatus configured and operable for mechanically grasping and detaching the husks from the cobs and pulling the detached husks through the conveyor, and at least one blower configured and operable for urging the husks within the passage toward the apparatus. The conveyor system can be provided in connection with a cob collection device, such as on a trailer to be towed by a harvester. The conveyor system can also include an additional conveyor or conveyors, optionally including apparatus for removing or cleaning crop residue from the cobs.
Abstract: A cob collection device for use with a corn harvester, includes a conveyor system including a portion for positively removing or cleaning attached husks from the cobs after removal of corn therefrom by the harvester, the conveyor system including an upwardly inclined conveyor portion operably movable in cooperation with the collection device for distributing delivery of cobs thereto, the cob collection device having a wall portion including an aperture for receiving the inclined conveyor portion, and a door for closing the aperture when the conveyor is removed, allowing unloading of the collection device, and stowage of the conveyor in a compacted manner to facilitate travel under bridges, utility wires, doorways and the like.

Abstract: A general purpose combined harvester and thresher comprising a first rotor (51) and a second rotor (52) provided in a thresh unit (5) and arranged longitudinally in parallel to each other with axes thereof right and left, and a first receiving net (55) and a second receiving net (56) arranged below the respective rotors to define a first treating chamber (D1) and second treating chamber (D2). A grain tank (79) is arranged above the threst unit (5), a base end of a discharge auger (83) is arranged outside the grain tank (79), an engine (84) is arranged behind the grain tank (79), and a transmission casing (85) is arranged below the engines A tooth bar (T1) is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the first rotor (51) facing a grain rod inlet (36), and a screw vane (53) has a pitch (P) equal to a width of a rear end of a feeder housing (35). A terminal end of a return conveyor (81) for returning of a second product communicates with the first treating chamber (D1).
