Abstract: A novel Electric Corn Creamer and Food Grater (the “Machine”) designed to process tender ears of corn to obtain a corn paste in a single step by grating the kernels directly over the cob. The Machine may also be used to grate various types of products. In preferred embodiments, the Machine may be sized to be used as a small kitchen appliance, but alternative embodiments may be better suited for industrial applications. In some embodiments, the Machine may comprise various modules that can be easily attached and detached to facilitate cleaning and storage after each use.
Abstract: A new and unique construction for a corn cob cutter knife is presented. A method is described for the manufacture of a unique cutting blade insert which is tapered and which has an inner ski angle compatible with the many applications involved in removing corn kernels from a corn cob in a mechanized operation. The unique removable cutting blade insert is designed so that the various angles of declination and attack optimize the sharpness and long lasting nature of the knife. A method is also presented to determine the off-set grinding radius for the ski angle of the knife. A unique square bushing for the control of the knife is also provided.
Abstract: A corn cutter unit in which an ear of corn is propelled by a plurality of feed rollers into a plurality of knives carried by a rotating head, with the knives being adjustable to define an opening through which the cob may pass, and a cob puller having upper and lower chains, each of which is formed of links and driven by sprockets over a guide, which guide has a height substantially equal to the length of the individual chain links to extend through said head and grip the corn cob.
