  • Patent number: 11911695
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, an electronic device for converting inputs received by control devices. For instance, a user may attach the electronic device to a control device. The electronic device may then configure the control device with a network application by associating various input devices of the control device with controls of the network application. After configuring the control device, the electronic device may receive input data representing inputs received by the control device. Using the associations, the electronic device may generate control data representing the controls that are associated with the inputs. The electronic device may then send the control data to a remote system, which may use the control data to update a state of the network application. The electronic device may perform similar processes in order to allow the user to use different types of control devices to control the network application.

  • Patent number: 11904245
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for assessing performance of a player of a game. An embodiment operates by monitoring for an input from the player of the game, receiving the input from the player of the game, and determining a characteristic of the game resulting from the input from the player. Based on the input from the player, a performance of the player is assessed. The performance of the player relating to one or more metrics of the game is monitored, and is assessed by comparing the input from the player during the period of time to an optimal input during the period of time in the game.

  • Patent number: 11899558
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method includes accessing a hard drive to measure operational characteristics of the hard drive. The method next includes deriving hard drive health factors used to control the hard drive that are based on the measured operational characteristics. The derived hard drive health factors include an average per-seek time indicating an average amount of time the hard drive spends seeking specified data that is to be read and an average read speed indicating an average amount of time the hard drive spends reading the specified data. The method next includes determining, based on the hard drive health factors and the operational characteristics, an amount of load servicing capacity currently available at the hard drive, and then includes regulating the amount of load servicing performed by the hard drive according to the determined amount of available load servicing capacity. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11875639
Abstract: Systems and methods for verifying the eligibility of players attempting to participate in gaming events are disclosed. Communication objects having RFID tags and closed electrical circuits are individually assigned to and worn by players within a gaming player verification system. These RFID tags may communicate with associated player tracking units attached to gaming machines and other devices via radio frequency waves, and each communication object may alter its communication pattern in response to any break of its closed electrical circuit. In some embodiments, a communications object may emit a signal that conveys a privilege of the player wearing the communications object. Bracelets, wristwatches or collars can be used as communication objects, such that the removal of such an object from a player cannot be accomplished without breaking the closed electrical circuit contained therein, thereby disabling or de-authenticating the device.

  • Patent number: 11831646
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to embodiments of systems and methods for controlling the access to files or other data. In some of the disclosed embodiments, a computing system receives a request for access to data by a first device operated by a first user, and determines that an identity of a second user associated with the data is to be authenticated to allow access to the data by the first device. The computing system invokes an authentication process to authenticate the identity of the second user based on an input provided to a second device by the second user and, based on that authentication process, determines that the identity of the second user has been authenticated based on the first input. The computing system then provides access to the data by the first device based at least in part on authentication of the identity of the second user. The authentication process may, for example, authenticate the identity of the second user based on a biometric input provided by the second user.

  • Patent number: 11640452
Abstract: In one embodiment, a set of feature vectors can be derived from any biometric data, and then using a deep neural network (“DNN”) on those one-way homomorphic encryptions (i.e., each biometrics' feature vector) can determine matches or execute searches on encrypted data. Each biometrics' feature vector can then be stored and/or used in conjunction with respective classifications, for use in subsequent comparisons without fear of compromising the original biometric data. In various embodiments, the original biometric data is discarded responsive to generating the encrypted values. In another embodiment, the homomorphic encryption enables computations and comparisons on cypher text without decryption. This improves security over conventional approaches. Searching biometrics in the clear on any system, represents a significant security vulnerability. In various examples described herein, only the one-way encrypted biometric data is available on a given device.
