The present invention also relates to a network of the gaming machines and a centralized light source, wherein optical pathways, suitably in the form of optical fibers, transmit light from the light source to the light positions of two or more gaming machines. The network may also include a controller to control illumination of the lighting positions, including color of the light and intensity of the light based on data received from an outcome determiner of one or more of the machines of the network.
