  • Patent number: 6840862
Abstract: An adjustable coupler for in-line coupling of a motor drive shaft of an agricultural system with the square drive shaft of a gearbox, wherein the coupler has an adjustable clamping hub for securing around differing sizes of square drive shafts while maintaining coaxial alignment between the coupler, the square drive shaft and the motor drive shaft. The coupler is adjustable to fit different size square drive shafts, yet maintains symmetry about the center axis of the coupler, thereby reducing off-balance forces that could result in wear points and early fatigue. Contact surfaces between the coupler components are minimized to reduce the likelihood that contaminants can become entrapped between the components. The coupler is comprised of a round hub and a square hub, each attached to the opposite sides of a shock absorbing puck. The square hub is symmetrical about the axis of the puck and is formed of two axially sliding, opposing L-shaped brackets configured to clamp around the square end of a drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 6820369
Abstract: A window lift mechanism for raising and lowering a window in a vehicle door includes a support bracket mounted to the window and a motor supported on the support bracket, wherein the support bracket permits the axial and rotational movement of the window relative to the support bracket. A pair of parallel, vertical racks are mounted to the door and are positioned immediately adjacent to the window. A worm gear is driven by a worm with a lead angle greater than seven degrees coupled to a motor. A clutch mechanism is utilized to prevent back drive of the worm/worm gear system. The worm gear is operatively coupled to a pinion gear with resilient shock absorbers that are provided with notched surfaces to accommodate for compression of the resilient material with an enclosed space.

  • Patent number: 6702679
Abstract: An elastic coupling, wherein drive side and driven side collars can be press fitted easily, securely and firmly to inner cylinder members with a sufficient interference and which can be used without a danger of axial deviation or disconnection and can be enhanced in durability and reliability. It comprises drive side collars and driven side collars arranged equidistantly on a concentric circle and alternately; belt-like fiber bundles wrapping around adjacent collars; and an elastic material embedding the collars and the belt-like bundles. Cylindrical parts of the collars are integrally formed, on outer peripheries thereof with plural flange parts for holding the belt-like bundles and fitted to inner cylinder members. A central area of each of the inner peripheries of cylindrical parts is formed as a radially expanded portion from the other portion.

Abstract: A flexible coupling is provided to connect a flange on a drive shaft to a flange on a driven shaft. Circumferentially spaced fastening means provide bores through the coupling through which bolts can be passed to connect it alternately to the one and then the other flange. Adjacent fastening means are interconnected by link and washers are positioned at opposite ends of the stack of links at each fastening means. In accordance with the invention the washers are formed with peripheral grooves which will be entered by the plastics material forming the body of the coupling, thus locking the washers against being expelled when bolts are subsequently passed through the bores.

  • Patent number: 6371858
Abstract: A cardan-type joint has flanges which are arranged on mutually facing shaft ends and preferably have three axially projecting driving pins, respectively, which are mutually staggered and uniformly arranged on the circumference of a common graduated circle. The driving pins are connected with one another in a torsion-proof manner by a flexible joint ring which is provided in corner points with sockets for the driving pins. The multi-part joint ring is formed by a collar of several oval driving loops. Each of the driving loops winds around two adjacent sockets. In order to easily permit relatively large bending angles during rotation, even in the event of a high mechanical and thermal loading of the cardan-type joint, the oval driving loops are indirectly or directly swivellably disposed on the driving pins by a pair of contact surfaces which are round in a meridian section in an axially slidable manner on the socket or on the driving loop.
