Abstract: An article of manufacture adapted to swing from a supporting structure, such as a tree limb or a post, and a method of providing the appearance of a figure in a hammock is provided. The article includes a base member formed in the shape of a hammock, having an arcuate shape in which a body in the shape of a figure, such as an animal, is positioned. The base member has an attachment mechanism on each end thereof which functionally engages a swing element for suspending the article from the supporting structure.

Abstract: An infant swing has a base member supported by hanger members for reciprocal movement. A seat that can be utilized in other applications is detachably mounted on and latched to the base member, which is formed with a swivel mechanism that allows the seat to be selectively positioned in a back-and-forth swing configuration or a sideways swing configuration. The swivel mechanism utilizes a triangular guide that engages an elliptical retainer to cause a lateral shift in the center of gravity of the seat when re-positioned. The base member also incorporates a recline mechanism that can be actuated with one hand. The recline actuation mechanism uses a self-centering push bar that is formed with protrusions engaged with slotted channels to lock the seat in a selected recline position. The push bar is operable to either transverse direction to release the protrusions from the slotted channels for selecting the new recline position.

Abstract: The Portable Swing Adaptor is a small device that is constructed of machine washable fabric and padding, the straps are made from durable nylon belting and the buckle and adjusting slides are plastic. The hooks that attach the swing adaptor to the swing are metal. This is a new idea because the toddler swings that are currently available to the public are bulky plastic equipment that are not portable and cannot be attached to playground equipment without tools.

Abstract: An exercise apparatus comprises a frame having a base and an apex. A least one pivot is connected to the frame for supporting a swinging arm. The opposite end of the arm supports a seat for an exercising athlete, and optional weights. The frame supports a force plate opposed to the seat. The seat and the force plate are connected by elastic members, such as bands, that bias the seat toward the force plate. The athlete develops reversal strength by extending his legs to bound from the force plate, then stopping the resulting forward motion at a predetermined joint position before rebounding again.

A release mechanism attached between ends of the tow line engages a stop on the retraction tower and automatically releases the ride vehicle into a pendulum motion. The ride vehicle includes an attachment portion for receiving the support lines. The ride vehicle also includes a rider platform rotatably attached to the attachment portion. The ride vehicle further includes a coupling bar having a first end pivotally secured to the attachment portion of the ride vehicle and a second end extending outwardly from the ride vehicle for engaging the release mechanism.

Abstract: An improved baby carrier device having an integral swinging mechanism which is capable of providing a pendulum-like rocking action thereto is herein disclosed. In addition to other known uses such as a containment mechanism for infants or as a receptacle for mounting within a baby carriage, or car seat, the present invention enhances the utility of a conventional baby carrier system via the incorporation of a integral baby swing, thereby abating the need for other extraneous mechanisms or other related swing drive devices. The carrier device has a pair of leg assemblies which are incorporated into the handle assembly thereof and are selectively adjustable by a user from an extended position wherein said carrier shell is suspended above a support surface in a stable manner, to a retracted position wherein the leg assemblies are confined within the housing of the handle assembly.

Abstract: The present invention relates to playground apparatus, and in particular to a swing apparatus which may be used by a person confined to a wheelchair. The preferred embodiment of the swing apparatus includes a main body which is adapted to accommodate a wheelchair. The body is formed from moulded plastic and is suspended from a frame structure for reciprocating motion by means of two pairs of substantially parallel arms. The body includes vertically extending internal frame members within the side walls of the body and transversely extending frame members underneath the body connecting opposing vertical frame members located on each side of the swing body. The body of the swing further includes a seat assembly which can be moved between a collapsed position and a raised position. The seat assembly comprises a pair of members which are adapted to clip together so as to provide a secure engagement when the seat is in its erected position.

The swing of the assembly comprises a seat and back rest which are hinged together so that they can be easily and quickly mounted in a support frame that is composed of parts that are detachably fastened together so that they can be readably dismantled for storage in the carrying case. The swing can be provided with arm rests which are also detachably mounted to the seat and back rest.
