Illusion Or Stage Device Patents (Class 472/57)
  • Patent number: 5407392
Abstract: A winter scene space study uses a space separated from the surroundings by transparent walls. The space is provided with refrigerator equipment as well as with equipment for producing water vapor and water jets or running water in the space. Temperature of the space is controlled or set in a manner that water vapor crystallizes into snow crystals and/or frost or water jets or running water at least freeze. By arranging the temperature to fluctuate on either side of 0.degree. C., the ice, frost and/or snow crystals can be alternately melted and re-formed. By adjusting temperature and the amount of water vapor properly, it is possible to create snowfall in the space.

  • Patent number: 5377380
Abstract: This invention is a simulated headlight wiper and is used as a novelty or amusement device. The wiper may be detachably mounted to the vehicle or, in another embodiment, it may be attached directly to the headlight by suitable means such as a double-sided adhesive tape. For additional realism, a simulated control block and fluid dispensing tube can be added as well as simulated wiper components such as a wiper arm, head, wiper blade holder and wiper blade.

  • Patent number: 5374217
Abstract: A device for creating an illusion includes a helix and an object in an arrangement which gives the illusion that the object and helix move relative to one another as the helix is rotated. The helix can be flexible or of a stable configuration such that it can be free standing. Support for the device can include a base or a swivel arrangement for suspending the device. The device can be free to rotate in moving air and, in situations where there are lesser amounts of air flow, a fan can be attached to the helix. Where there is an absence of moving air an electric motor can be employed. Variations in the arrangement and size of the components of the device can create variations in the illusion of relative movement. The use of colors and materials which glow in the dark in situations where there is low light, along with variations in lighting, will also vary the illusion of relative movement.

  • Patent number: 5356343
Abstract: A black magician's wand with white tips with a built in flash at one end and a triggering means contained therein. The method of triggering the flash is concealed. In one version of the wand, the flash is triggered by means of a push button switch. In another version of the invention, the flash is triggered by means of a mercury tilt switch within the wand. Manipulation of the wand through a horizontal plane causes the switch to activate the flash.

  • Patent number: 5261849
Abstract: A toy or miniature theater is designed for interchangeable use in staging performances, such as, puppet or marionette shows and is made up of a housing with a platform normally disposed at a lower end of the housing with a front opening in the housing above the platform so as to define a stage, one or more side openings being provided to afford access from the sides of the housing in manipulating characters on the stage. The platform includes an opening which can be removably closed so that when the platform is at the lower end of the housing it can form a solid stage and when the housing is inverted to place the platform at the upper end, the housing opening is left open for passage of marionettes or other figures therethrough above the housing and into a position visible through the front opening of the housing. A scenic backdrop in the form of a removable panel can be removably inserted through slots either across the front or rear end of the platform as desired.

  • Patent number: 5261848
Abstract: A toy includes a base, a character figure on the base, and a dome-shaped housing on the base over the character figure. The housing includes inner and outer transparent shell portions which cooperate to define an enclosed cavity therebetween, and transparent liquid having sparkling particles suspended therein is received in the cavity. A second embodiment of the toy includes an opaque housing having a window therein. The window includes spaced transparent inner and outer shell portions which cooperate to define a cavity therebetween, and a transparent liquid is received in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5227922
Abstract: The present invention is a decorative mirror box provided with a hollow interior cavity. The interior cavity is defined by a bottom, a roof, and reflective interior surfaces on a front wall, a back wall, a right side wall, and a left side wall. Optionally, the bottom can be provided with an interior surface which is reflective. The walls attach perpendicularly to the bottom. The side walls are spaced apart and are parallel to each other. The front wall attaches perpendicularly to the side walls and is provided with an opening to provide visual access to the interior cavity. The back wall attaches to the side walls so that the back wall is spaced away from the front wall so that the back wall interior surface is not parallel with the front wall interior surface A roof attaches to the front wall, the back wall, the right side wall, and the left side wall. An interior surface of the roof is provided with a light source for illuminating the interior cavity.
