  • Patent number: 7758441
Abstract: A golf training assembly includes a base assembly disposed in supported relation on a playing surface and in at least a partially surrounding relation to a playing area. The golf training assembly further includes at least one swing aid disposed into an operative orientation by an orientation assembly to facilitate preferred body mechanics during a golf swing. In addition, an aiming assembly is provided to facilitate alignment of the golfer's swing relative to a preferred path of travel. At least one arm brace assembly is provided to facilitate a preferred disposition of the golfer's arms relative to the preferred path of travel throughout the golfer's swing. The golf training assembly also includes a putting target as well as a stop for intercepting a golf ball that has been engaged by a golf club. The base assembly is further structured to assume an elevated orientation in spaced relation to a playing surface. A cover member, supported by the elevated base assembly, provides shelter.

  • Patent number: 7744482
Abstract: The present invention provides a portable device that can be used anywhere and that enables a golfer to improve putting performance, for training or entertainment purposes. The device has an electronic analyzing system comprising, in one embodiment of the invention, only three passive infrared sensors to accurately detect all the crucial movements of a putter head (or any other golf club) (e.g., squareness at impact, speed, distance) throughout the crucial portion of a swing at the virtual point of impact (or actual point of impact if a golf ball is used). The device further uses these sensors to capture information in tandem with preset and/or selectable features and options (e.g., stimp, slope, statistics, games) to supply a holistic approach to putting practice. The device may also be equipped with an accelerometer/inclinometer to instantly inform the user of the slope and drop of the ground on which the device is placed.

The barrel (10) is disposed on one end of a stick-shaped body of a predetermined length (a), and has an equal diameter from the end down which narrows in diameter toward its base and a trajectory indicator (11). The stop (20) has a predetermined width to rest an outer edge of a left hand on. The grip portion (30) is disposed between the barrel (10) and the stop (20). When practicing golf swings using the bat, a user benefits from the proper grip positioning structure of the bat, can execute a forceful swing without excessive gripping force for less stiffness in the arms, and can visually check swing trajectory using the trajectory indicator (11) to achieve a powerful, centrifugal, textbook swing.

Abstract: A system of training a golf swing including the steps of providing a positional apparatus that provides the golfer with variable impact heights and variable rotational positions to enable them to learn the correct swing, and also includes various additional training items. The stand provides heights ranging from the traditional on the ground striking position up to the golfer's waist to train the swing incrementally and can be positioned anywhere within the golfer's peripheral sight. It also provides the golfer a way to learn the correct movements used in the swing without the pressure of trying to effect a golf ball flight.

Abstract: Three rectangular panels create an adjustable golf swing plane and physical barrier suitable for teaching and practicing any golf shot with any golf club. In the preferred embodiment, the three panels are pivotally secured by a living hinge system. One side of the base panel is grooved to secure the panel used for driving. For bunker shots, the base panel rotates 180 degrees for placement under sand. For putting, a putter slides across the putting panel and an integrated mirror provides the golfer visual alignment of the golfer's eyes, shoulders and putter.

Abstract: A golf club having a head with a face configured to contact a ball and a shaft attached to the head at a first end such that the first end extends into and is received within the head. The shaft is gripped by a golfer at a second end so as to be swung by the golfer to head strike the ball. The head is configured to provide the golfer with a visual indication of the position of the first end of the shaft such that the position of first end of the shaft is monitored during the swing. The visual indication can be provided by a transparent region and highlighting the first end of the shaft. There is also described methods of training and assessing a golfer's golf swing using such a club.

Abstract: A golf driving and putting training aid comprises a driving module, a short-putt module, a long-putt module, and a third putting module. The driving module includes a shaft of telescoping cylinders pivotally secured at one end to a supporting surface and provided with a driving handle at the other end. The rate of retraction and extension of all cylinders is controlled by felt strips restricting the flow of air between the cylinders. The direction of the swing is controlled by pivoting joints by which the cylinders are connected to the supporting surface and to the handle. In one embodiment, the cylinders are pivotally attached to a slidable sleeve that glides along a horizontal bar. The movement of the sleeve can be restricted along the horizontal bar. The short-putt module includes a telescoping cylindrical shaft that is attached to the user's putter. When used, the short-putt module forces the user to keep the short-putt stroke straight.

  • Patent number: 7431661
Abstract: A golf swing trainer comprising a set of modular cylindrical ground frame members, in the most basic form an elongated front-back member and at least two elongated fore-aft members removably mounted on the front-back member with connections that allow the position and spacing of the fore-aft members to be adjusted on the front-back members to define ground level swing/stroke paths, and one or more tilt-adjustable upright guide members removably and adjustably mounted on the ground frame members to define a swing plane. The ground frame is preferably made from cylindrical tubing, and special connectors are used that provide snap-fit, slide, and rotational connection to the ground frame members. The trainer also includes raised, angled guides that can be removably connected to the ground frame members to support a raised, elongated, horizontal putting guide at a parallel acute angle to a ground frame member.
