  • Publication number: 20090325726
Abstract: This invention concerns an adjustable height practice golf tee for use with any of the existing golf hitting mats used at or incorporated into golf driving ranges, public and private indoor hitting areas, golf club fitting, testing and swing teaching stations, electronic golf swing analyzers and golf simulation video games. The invention incorporates a hidden thread design into two-piece and three-piece models to provide a greater range of adjustment and better durability than older designs. The inventive device uses a passive capture design which allows assembly without additional fasteners or retaining devices while preventing disassembly during use. A combination three-point ball seat reduces the tee's mass and effect on the ball launch while acting as a handle to facilitate precise and easy height adjustment.

  • Patent number: 7607998
Abstract: A golf tee for supporting a golf ball has a generally conical, essentially hollow body in which a conoidal wall extends in an axial direction along a prescribed axial length between a ball support at an upper end of the body and a basal tip at a lower end of the body. The wall includes overlapping conoid layers of synthetic polymeric material, preferably located along a common spiral, with adjacent layers in sliding engagement with one-another, all of the layers having upper and lower edges at corresponding upper and lower ends of the body. Each layer is unsecured to an adjacent layer between corresponding upper and lower edges of the layers such that upon being struck by a blow transverse to the axial direction relative movement between adjacent layers will enable a resilient transverse deflection of the wall while essentially maintaining the prescribed axial length between the ball support and the basal tip.

When the insertion tip is used with a wiffle type practice ball there is no spin resistance and a true flight path exists. A perfect grass lie can always be obtained. When the insertion tip is used with the much heavier regulation golf ball into which an insertion hole is incorporated, a spin resistance exists. This spin resistance can be adjusted by screwing the tee head up or down the top of the tee shaft. The spin resistance can stop a hook or slice. • Patent number: 6832964
Abstract: The present invention involves a golf tee coated with colored coatings that when struck with a golf club leave a marking that easily identifies where the ball was struck on the club face and the path of the swing, but does not come off in normal handling. The tee leaves a multi-colored marking on the club face that is used to show the swing path of a golfer's swing and the point of impact of the tee on the face of the golf club. The tee has a center line or mark that represents the middle, which establishes the optimum hitting area. This line or mark is also an indicator for the golfer to line up in the direction they are trying to hit the ball. On either side of this colored line or mark is a different color that indicates the swing path when shown on the club face.

Abstract: A golf tee designed to be strong and durable without relying on synthetic materials to be so. The golf tee is designed with an evenly tapered stem along the entire length, or a majority of the length, of the tee and tapers to a sufficient dimension so as to be easily inserted into the ground and includes a top surface with a depression to accept and retain a golf ball. The evenly tapered stem adds bulk and strength to the tee and reduces stress to the tee during a tee shot, providing longevity.

Abstract: The present invention provides a durable golf tee capable of conserving as much as possible the impact energy transmitted to the golf tee and of preventing possible flight thereof from the ground. The golf tee comprises a stick pin the lower end of which is formed in a tapering shape to stick into the ground, a ball-holding member placed on the top of the stick pin provided with a small hole at the bottom of a hollow part, and a flexible connecting member the lower end of which is fixed on the stick pin, the connecting member being provided with a flange on the upper end for binding slidably the ball-holding member to the stick pin, the connecting member being inserted into a hollow part H through a small hole perforated at the bottom of the ball-holding member, and notches 4b1 being formed between the flange of the connecting member and the ball-holding member to let air escape upward.

  • Publication number: 20040092339
Abstract: A practice/playing golf tee that is substantially indestructible. It includes a screw up/down golf tee head. When the head is screwed down the insertion tip parameter of the tee can be used. The insertion tip at the top of the tee goes into one of the existing holes in a practice golf ball or a regulation golf ball in which hole (s) are incorporated to accomadate the insertion tip. As the amateur golfer becomes more adept he/she can decrease the spin resistance by screwing the tee head up toward the top of the tee shaft.
