  • Patent number: 8668609
Abstract: An inverted tooth chain drive system includes a sprocket supported for rotation about an axis of rotation and including a plurality of teeth defined relative to respective tooth centers. The tooth centers are spaced evenly in a circumferential arrangement about the axis of rotation, and each of the plurality of teeth includes an engaging flank. An inverted tooth chain is engaged with the sprocket and includes a plurality of rows of links each structured for inside flank engagement with the sprocket, with leading inside flanks of each row of links projecting outwardly relative to the trailing outside flanks of a preceding row of links. The leading inside flanks of each row are positioned to make initial meshing contact with the engaging flank of one of the sprocket teeth. At least some of the teeth are standard teeth and other ones of the teeth are flank-relieved teeth.

Abstract: A hybrid chain comprises outer links composed of link plates connected in side-by-side relationship by two connecting pins fitted to holes in the outer plates, and inner links composed of link plates in spaced, side-by-side relationship and connected by two bushings on which rollers are mounted, the bushings being fitted to holes in the inner plates. The inner and outer links are connected in alternating, overlapping, relationship, with each pin of an outer link extending through a bushing of an adjacent overlapping inner link. The chain meshes with a sprocket composed of a central sprocket engaged by the rollers, and two side sprockets. The inner link plates, the outer link plates, or both, have two teeth, with outer flanks in the form of arcs each centered on the more remote pin or bushing hole. The inner link plates, outer link plates, or both, can be double-sided link plates.

  • Patent number: 7442139
Abstract: In a slat conveyor, slats for supporting conveyed articles and personnel extend between two side-by-side, spaced, endless roller chains engaged with driving sprockets at one end of the conveying path and driven sprockets at the other end. At a location radially outward from the pitch circle, the distance between the front surface of the sprocket teeth to the tooth center line is at least as great as the distance from the centerline to the front surface at the pitch circle. The tooth faces merge smoothly with the tooth gap bottom, and the root diameter is smaller than the root diameter according to ISO standards.

  • Publication number: 20080064547
Abstract: A method is described for the operation of a transmission device (3) with several shift elements (5, 6) actuated hydraulically by a pressure source (4) for engaging and disengaging various transmission ratios and with several electric actors (7, 8) of a hydraulic system of the transmission device (3) for the adjustment of actuating pressures for the shift elements (5, 6). When an engine start-stop function calls for a combustion engine (2) of a drivetrain comprising the transmission device (3) to be switched off, the energizing current of the actors (7, 8) is adjusted from an operating level (I_B) in which the respective actors (7, 8) are energized with a current appropriate for producing an operating-situation-dependent actuation pressure in the shift elements (5, 6), to a standby level (I_S). When the engine start-stop function calls for the combustion engine (3) to be switched on, the energizing current of the actors (7, 8) is adjusted from the standby level (I_S) to the operating level (I_B).

Abstract: In a roller chain transmission, the chain has rollers which are tapered from a central region toward their ends, and the teeth of the sprockets in driving and driven relationship with the chain have concave surfaces that contact the tapered parts of the rollers on both sides of a central region. However, there is no contact between the rollers and the sprockets in the central region. The central regions of the rollers can be provided with compressible external resin rings that cushion the impact on engagement of a roller with a sprocket tooth.

  • Patent number: 7294078
Abstract: An over-molded beaded driving cable which has an inner core, a plurality of inner core structures. An outer jacket may encompass the inner core and inner core structures. Each of a plurality of outer beads concentrically surrounds an inner core structure. The outer beads are over-molded in this position, forming an interlocking inner core structure and outer bead configuration capable of high load and high flexible performance. An end fitting placed at each end portion of the inner core provides for a driving cable assembly with a variety of end fitting configurations, including a closed loop connection, for automotive and non-automotive applications. Alternatively, the over-molded beaded driving cable has a plurality of clamps and/or pins surrounded by the outer beads respectively. The cables may also be provided with seamless connection structure for forming closed loops.

  • Patent number: 7232392
Abstract: A method for installing a cushion ring on a sprocket body to construct a sprocket assembly includes applying a deforming force to a cushion ring so that an opening therein is deformed to a shape that accommodate passage of a non-circular flange of a sprocket body therethrough. When the cushion ring is deformed, the non-circular flange of the sprocket body is inserted through the opening of the cushion ring. The deforming force is then released from the cushion ring so that the cushion ring is trapped between the flange and another portion of the sprocket body. The sprocket assembly includes at least one and typically two cushion rings trapped by respective non-circular flanges.
