  • Patent number: 6688787
Abstract: A roller device includes a motor and a speed reducer inside a cylindrical roller or arranged coaxially, and an electronic apparatus includes a printer using the roller device. This roller device comprises a motor (5) disposed on a cylindrical roller (2), a sun gear (7), planet gears (8), a first inner tooth gear (10) provided inside of the cylindrical roller (2), and a second inner tooth gear (11) provided inside of a bearing element (12). The rotation of the bearing element (12) is suppressed by a predetermined force. Thus the rotation of the motor (5) is decelerated, and the cylindrical roller is rotated at a reduced speed. By rotating the bearing element with a force greater than a predetermined force, the cylindrical roller can be rotated manually.

Abstract: An electronic drive unit assembly independently drives each drivable wheel on a heavy-duty vehicle. The drive unit assembly includes a spindle that defines an inner chamber and which is mounted to a vehicle structure. A wheel hub is mounted for rotation relative to the spindle. An electric motor is mounted within the inner chamber and has an output shaft that is operatively coupled to a reduction gear assembly that is used to drive the wheel hub. The reduction gear assembly includes an inner ring gear mounted to the spindle and an outer ring gear mounted to the wheel hub. An inner set of planet gears is in meshing engagement with the inner ring gear and an outer set of planet gears is in meshing engagement with the outer ring gear. A planetary spider assembly rigidly connects the inner and outer sets of planet gears. The inner planet gears have a different number of teeth than the outer planet gears to achieve the desired gear reduction.

  • Patent number: 6550546
Abstract: A hammer drill has a motor which drives an axially displaceable intermediate gear mounted in an intermediate gear arrangement. An impact mechanism is formed by including interacting impact cams between either the intermediate gear and the housing, or the motor armature shaft and the housing to generate a reciprocating motion on an output spindle or shaft. A spindle locking mechanism is included which causes an intermediate gear to be disengageable with respect to the output shaft, while still permitting the impact mechanism to be engaged. Such an arrangement allows the hammer drill to operate in a hammer-only or chipping mode.

  • Patent number: 5632705
Abstract: An epicyclic roller gear (100) has two rings (1 and 4) provided with an inner profile. One ring (1) is fixed and the other ring (4) is parallel or coaxial to the first ring (1) and is rotatably mounted with respect thereto. The number of teeth on the two rings is different. Both rings (1 and 4) have at least two parallel internal profiles (1.1, 1.2, 4.1 and 4.2) which are offset in the circumferential direction by a fraction of the pitch of the profile or teeth. When each ring has two mutually offset internal profiles, they are mutually offset by half the pitch of the teeth, so that in this case the gaps of the one tooth system are occupied by the teeth of the second, adjacent tooth system. This results in a high contact ratio with the corresponding complementary profiles of a rolling element, preferably a roller carrier (5) with rotatable rollers which roll in the gaps between the teeth of the internal profiles.

Abstract: Gearing mechanism comprising alike two stages of known planetary gearing arrangement with inner rotational members (1) and (4) mounted to common shaft (a) and the planetary gears (3) and (6) to one common carrier plate (10) and (11). The rotational input being provided by shaft (a), rotational output from outer rotational member (5) to shaft (b) and torque reaction means applied by connection of the outer rotational member (2) to a gearbox housing. Transmission ratio being determined by difference in ratio between the two alike planetary gearing stages.

  • Patent number: 5033997
Abstract: An actuator (10) comprises a housing (40) with movable actuating arms (22, 27, 28) adapted to be attached to a part to be moved. A reduction gear mechanism (14, 15) is held within the housing (40) in such a manner that it is axially and radially retained in the proper operative position without the need for a center through-shaft at the center (25) of the housing (40). The housing (40) is provided with openings at axial ends (31, 32). Z-shaped annular flanges (33, 34) are fixed to the housing (40) and securely receive dust covers (35) when the actuator (10) is shipped for installation. A seal land (36) is formed at the inner periphery of each flange (33, 34) adapted to engage with a drive shaft (11) which is inserted into one of the axial ends (31, 32) after removal of the appropriate dust cover (35).

  • Patent number: 5017183
Abstract: To restrict and further promote differential rotation between first and second output shafts, the power transmission apparatus for differentially transmitting a rotative power supplied to an input shaft to two output shafts comprises a differential gear mechanism coupled between the two output shafts; a multiplying mechanism associated with the differential gear mechanism, for detecting and multiplying a differential rotation; a motor coupled to the multiplying gear mechanism, for restricting or promoting the differential rotation by driving the multiplying gear mechanism in either direction; and a controller for controlling rotative direction and torque of the motor by adjusting supply voltage polarity and motor current magnitude. The multiplying mechanism is a strange gear mechanism or a planetary gear mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4942781
Abstract: The present invention discloses a differential planet gear unit, in which a sun gear is engaged with first and second ring gears coaxially aligned through planet gears interposed therebetween, and the tooth number of the first ring gear is different from the tooth number of the second ring gear, in which the first and second ring gears engage with first and second portions of each planet gear, and the diameters of the addendum circles of the teeth of the first ring gear and the first tooth portion of each planet gear are different from those of the second ring gear and the second tooth portion of each planet gear, respectively, to reduce a difference between an approaching contact length and a receding contact length along a contact action line. The first ring gear and the second tooth portion of each planet gear may be formed with first and second chamfers, respectively, in both sides of the addendum of the teeth to reduce the difference between the approaching and receding contact lengths.

  • Patent number: 4932613
Abstract: A rotary hinge actuator, for instance for rotating a wing flap relative to a wing in an aircraft, has a sun gear, several spindle gears around the sun gear and several annular gear sleeves around the sun gear and spindle gears. Each spindle gear has sections with external helical gear teeth which are slanted in the same direction and which respectively mesh with internal helical gear teeth on the annular gear sleeves. At least one of the sleeves is connected to the wing and at least another to the wing flap. Upon rotating the spindle gears the wing flap is rotated relative to the wing.
