    Abstract: A gearbox monitoring system can include a fan, compressor, combustor, and turbine in axial flow arrangement, with corresponding rotating components mounted to a shaft, and a gearbox assembly operably coupled to the shaft and connecting the turbine and the fan. The gearbox assembly can include a carrier, a sun gear, at least one planet gear, and a ring gear. An oil feed tube is coupled to the gearbox for lubricating at least one of the sun, ring or planet gears. A plurality of bearings rotationally supports at least one of the sun gear, ring gear, or planet gear relative to the carrier. In addition, at least one vibration sensor is carried by one of the carrier or ring gear and is in wireless communication with an engine control unit or health monitoring unit.

    Abstract: A dynamic rotor-phasing unit can phase rotors in-flight for dynamic rotor tuning and in an idle state for aircraft storage. The input and output shafts can be clocked (e.g., rotated) from 0 degrees apart to in excess of 360 degrees apart or from 0 degrees apart to 140 degrees apart. Such rotation can minimize the footprint of an aircraft for stowing purposes, as the rotor blades can be folded to fit within a smaller area without disconnecting the drive system. Additionally, the unit can allow tiltrotor blades to be clocked during flight, which can allow the live-tuning of the aircraft's rotor dynamics. A fail-safe rotary actuator can rotate a stationary planet carrier to clock the input shaft and the output shaft. Alternatively, an actuator can position a slider housing to clock the input shaft and the output shaft.

The planetary gear carrier deceleration forces rotational acceleration of the pusher shaft and deceleration of the flywheel. Through a cam roller contact point between the pusher shaft and the cam raceway on the plunger; the rotational motion of the pusher shaft is converted to linear and translational motion of the plunger. The translational motion of the plunger allows impulse jet energy to be rapidly released from a nozzle of the pump.
