  • Patent number: 11819727
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes an elongated support element extending between first and second ends. The support element has a mounting member located at each of the first and second ends to engage with a door or wall surface and mount the support element thereto. A resistance-generating assembly includes a stationary member attached to the support element. A displaceable member is mountable to the support element and displaceable therealong relative to the stationary member. A resilient member is removably mountable between the stationary and displaceable members. The resilient member generates resistance upon being elastically deformed by displacement of the displaceable member relative to the stationary member. A pulley is mounted to the displaceable member and displaceable therewith, and another pulley is mounted to the support element. A hand-operable cable engages the pulleys to effect displacement of the displaceable member relative to the stationary member. A method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8070658
Abstract: Exercise apparatus and method with selectively variable stabilization enabling a user to progressively increase his/her core body muscular strength. In various embodiments, the exercise apparatus includes a resistance cabling system providing a user defined line of motion, and a partial stabilizer pad being adjustably positionable offset from the line of motion, wherein the user's core body is positionable against the pad and required to resist the torque created by the offset. The user can progressively increase the distance between the line of motion and partial stabilizer pad, in order to progressively increase the force which the user's core body must resist to maintain an upright stature. In this way, the user can progressively, over time, increase his or her core body strength.

  • Patent number: 7998037
Abstract: An adjustable resistance training apparatus that is provided with one or more elongated elastomeric members that are supported by a carrier. The adjustable resistance training apparatus also includes a slide that is configured to be moved along a guided path in response to a force exerted by a user's body. The slide includes an engagement member that is configured to permit selective engagement to the second end of one or more of the elastomeric members, once positioned by the carrier, to cause the selected elastomeric member or members to be stretched along a second plane in response to movement of the slide along the guided path. The adjustable resistance training apparatus can be coupled to isotonic weights in the form of a selectable weight stack that moves along a second guided path in response to a force exerted by a user's body or used with plate loaded devices. The combination of resistance tubes and weights results in progressive resistance regardless of the speed of movement of the weight stack.

  • Patent number: 7927262
Abstract: An exercise apparatus that provides a complete body workout, folds up into a small footprint, and can be hidden inside of a closet or decorative cabinet. The two arms rotate both horizontally and vertically, and move up and down, permitting the cable ends to be positioned anywhere from near the ground to well over head, thus allowing for infinite exercise variation. Cable ends that exit the arms freely and move independently of each other simulate working out with free weights. The counterweighted arms combined with convenient locking levers facilitate rapid and effortless arm repositioning. A counterweighted fold out seat assembly with leg extension completes the versatile and compact workout station.

  • Patent number: 7922631
Abstract: Adjustable supports for exercise machines are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exercise machine includes a load, a force-transferring assembly operatively coupled to the load, a support frame operatively coupled to the force-transferring assembly, and an exercise station coupled to the force-transferring assembly proximate a support member of the support frame. The support member is operatively coupled to an upright member of the support frame by an adjustment assembly. The adjustment assembly is adjustable to enable the support member to project from the upright member at a plurality of support positions such that the exercise station is correspondingly adjustable over a plurality of vertical positions. In some embodiments, the support member is pivotable relative to the upright member. Alternately, slideable members may allow the support member to be selectively retracted and extended to provide the desired vertical position adjustment.

  • Patent number: 7841971
Abstract: A golf exercising apparatus is provided. The apparatus can include a horizontal base member with platform, a vertical lower frame member attached to the base member and a vertical upper frame member pivotally attached to the lower frame member whereby the upper frame member can tilt side-to-side relative to the lower frame member to accommodate right-handed and left-handed golf swings. A pivoting pulley assembly can be supported at an elevated position by the upper frame member. A cable can be anchored at one end to the upper frame member or to the pulley assembly. The other end of the cable can pass through the pulley assembly and can have a handle attached thereon. The cable can be tensioned to provide resistance by suspending weights from the cable between its anchored end and the pulley assembly. The golf swing is exercised by pulling the handle in a golf swing-like motion. Increasing the weights suspended on the cable increases the resistance in the golf swing motion.
