Each support member has a distal end opposite its base and a series of adjustment holes therethrough for receiving one end of the lifting bar. The support member of one frame has a cavity that is sufficiently large to slidably receive the support member of the other frame. Each base has a stowage hole adapted to receive one end of the lifting bar. The apparatus includes fasteners by which the ends of the lifting bar can be secured within a pair of the adjustment holes in the support members to define a deployed configuration of the apparatus, as well as secured within the stowage holes in the bases to define a stowed configuration.

Abstract: A lateral deltoid exercise machine has a floor engaging main frame, a user support pivot, a user support assembly pivotally mounted on the main frame via the user support pivot, and a pivotally mounted user engagement device or exercise arm assembly having arm pads for engagement by the user's forearms while pushing the arm pads outward and upward from a start position. A connecting link translates movement of the user engagement device to movement of the user support so that pivotal movement of the user engagement device results in a self-aligning, pivoting movement of the user support.

  • Patent number: 8337370
Abstract: A weightlifting system includes a weight bar frame rack which includes a multitude of openings along an upright to receive a weight support assembly at various positions along the frame rack. The support assembly includes a multitude of studs which extend from an inner surface of a U-shaped support plate to engage the openings and provide a robust weight support which will bear a significant quantity of weight. In use, the weight support assembly is pushed into and down the upright such that that the studs engage and are guided by the openings. Concurrent therewith, a spring bias is overcome until a latch member encounters a lock opening to securely lock the support into the desired position. To remove the weight support assembly a lock trigger is retracted and the weight support assembly is lifted up and out of the openings. The entire locking and unlocking of the weight support assembly is readily performed with one hand.

Abstract: An apparatus to store and facilitate the safe simultaneous use of dumbbells by multiple individuals. The apparatus includes first and second staging stations. The first staging station includes a first side, a second side, and first and second spaced apart towers. An individual can walk from the first side of the staging station to a position between the first and second towers with the individual's entire body in a space intermediate the towers. The second staging station includes a primary side, a secondary side, and spaced apart third tower and fourth towers. The second staging station is positioned normal to the first staging station such that a first individual in the first staging station can grasp dumbbells on an outwardly facing tier of the fourth tower of the second staging station at the same time a second individual is standing between the third and fourth towers of the second staging station.

Abstract: An exercise machine having a rolling platform and adjustable bar members. The platform is supported on frame rails, and is biased by springs towards an end of the machine. The rails have a rectangular cross-section, angled 45° to horizontal, and roller assemblies on the platform include roller wheels angled to engage the surfaces of the rails substantially normal thereto. The adjustable bar assemblies include upwardly extending bars having upper members that are rotatable about a generally vertical axis so that handle portions at the upper ends thereof extend in different directions for differing exercises. At least one of the bar assemblies is also selectively pivotable about a horizontal axis to positions in which it is engaged by a locking assembly on the frame of the machine. The machine enables the user to perform a wide variety of exercises in reclined, prone, seated and standing positions, both on and off the platform.
