  • Patent number: 8967938
Abstract: A transport tray for use in an installation for manufacturing food products, the installation having actuators. The transport tray has a chassis and a bottom having two panels mounted on the chassis, each having a first parallel edge and being able to move in rotation about a rotation axis parallel to the first edges between a transport position in which the distance between the first edges is less than the diameter of the fruit products and an unloading position in which at least one of the first edges is lowered so that the distance between the first edges is greater than the diameter of the food products. Each panel cooperates with an actuator for passing it from the transport position to the unloading position. Apparatus is provided to prevent lifting of the first edge of each panel beyond the transport position.

Abstract: Electro-mechanical and electronically controlled access devices are described for controlling access to a building, premises or area in a secure manner such that a subject who is deemed ineligible for access will be barred entry and may be optionally retained. The devices can contain multiple rotatable door panels, which can be positioned behind one another. The door panels can be controlled by mechanized arms or other control devices in order to control the passage through the device. The direction of flow through a device according to these embodiments is electronically controlled and may be changed at any point in time. At any instant in time, the flow through the device is unidirectional. Multiple devices can be stacked together to form clusters, which can be controlled according to traffic, time of day, or other factors.

Abstract: A high-pressure mine door assembly for use in mine shafts configured with opposing wings, which enable the door to open and close quickly. The assembly includes a major hub and a minor hub positioned at or above the cap of the door assembly and coupled together via a connecting bar. A drive mechanism is coupled to the cap and the connecting bar, which facilitates the opening and closing of the wings of the door. The door assembly is configured in a 12-6 pitch orientation, requiring only a ? rotation of the wings of the door assembly to fully open the door. Such a configuration also negates the effect of air pressure on operation of the door, as regardless of the direction of the airflow, with the airflow assisting one wing in opening and the other in closing.

  • Patent number: 7854092
Abstract: A gate system (10) includes two spaced sides (12, 14) defining a work area (16) between the sides (12, 14). A first opening (18) is defined between first ends of the sides (12, 14), and a second opening (38) opposite to the first opening (18) is defined between second ends of the sides (12, 14). Two gates (82, 92) for opening/closing the first and second openings (18, 38) are respectively coupled with two shafts (40, 50) rotatably supported by one of the sides (12, 14). The shafts (40, 50) are rotatably interconnected wherein pivoting of one of the gates (82, 92) in a direction causes pivoting of the other gate (82, 92) in an opposite direction. Each gate (82, 92) includes a groove (85, 95) that receives a vertical beam (60, 62) of the other side (14) when the gate (82, 92) is in a closed position. Biasing elements in the form of gas cylinders (110, 120) between the side (12) and the gates (82, 92) prevent the gates (82, 92) from slamming into their closed positions.

Abstract: An entry control apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a pair of spaced barriers forming a pathway therebetween. The barriers are positioned adjacent a doorway to control ingress into and egress from a building or the like. An arm is pivotally mounted and extends across the pathway and permits free movement of people in one direction and selectively restricts movement in the other direction. A motion sensor is provided and a motion control system is associated with the sensor. The sensor and motion control system cooperate to selectively allow the arms to move to a normally open position for normal traffic in an approved direction. In the event a person approaches the apparatus, as if to exit, or move in the wrong direction through the pathway, the sensor detects the movement and effects operation of the motion control system that locks the arm against movement to prevent movement through the passageway.
