  • Patent number: 6125768
Abstract: A biparting transit vehicle door system operator. The operator includes a base for attachment to the mass transit vehicle and a motive power source connected to a transmission having an output power shaft. Such operator further includes a teeter plate having a shaft engaging portion for engaging the shaft. The shaft has a teeter plate engaging portion for engaging the operator teeter plate. A thrust bearing is in mechanical contact with a hub portion of the teeter plate and a spring is in mechanical contact with the thrust bearing to exert a first axial thrust thereon. The thrust bearing communicating the first axial thrust to the teeter plate so that the shaft engaging portion of the teeter plate engages the teeter plate engaging portion of the shaft. The operator includes a release member having mechanical contact with the hub portion of the teeter plate for exerting a second axial thrust on the teeter plate.

  • Patent number: 4653227
Abstract: A door operating assembly for opening and closing vehicle doors at a constant door edge force includes a frame. A teeter lever assembly is pivotally mounted on the frame and is connected to a connecting rod assembly connecting the teeter lever assembly and the vehicle doors. A cylinder is mounted on the frame and includes a reciprocally mounted rod. The rod is reciprocated by pressurized air introduced into the cylinder. The rod is connected to the teeter lever assembly to rotate the teeter lever assembly. The teeter lever assembly includes a variable diameter cam. A spring for closing the doors is secured at a first end to the frame and at a second end to a flexible connection member. The flexible connection member connects the spring to the cam and wraps around the outer periphery of the cam upon door opening. The energy stored in the spring at full extension is used to close the doors.

  • Patent number: 4411102
Abstract: A Door Control designed especially for a service passage in a quick food establishment or the like, i.e., for serving customers on one side of a passage, say, in a cubicle, by an employee on the other side thereof. Essentially, such control mechanism comprises a device operable by an employee for opening a door or pair of doors normally closing a passage while business may be transacted through the passage such as placing or delivering an order, after which the door or pair of doors is automatically closed. My invention represents an improvement over that disclosed and claimed in my copending application Ser. No. 06/078,095, filed Sept. 24, 1979, now abandoned. In the instant case the doors are so controlled and actuated that, after opening, they are disposed on opposite sides and rearwardly of said passage, not extending substantially forwardly thereof.
