Treadle Actuated Patents (Class 49/132)
  • Patent number: 10094081
Abstract: A parking space is reserved by raising a chain about three feet above a parking space. The chain is attached to a post, and a weight is attached to the chain to lower the chain along the post and to drag the lowering chain along the parking space toward the post for full access. A motor with a speed reducer turns a shaft with a chain drive gear and an encoder. A signal receiver and control start the motor to raise or lower the chain when one of two buttons is pressed on a key fob by the authorized space user. The encoder is connected to the control to stop the chain when fully up or down. A stop trigger on the chain activates a stop switch when the chain is fully raised.

  • Patent number: 7581351
Abstract: A speed barrier includes a heavy lower barrier and a lighter upper gate. The barrier and gate may normally be positioned to allow or to restrict passing of vehicles. The barrier is configured to receive and survive the main impact of a vehicle attempting to ram through the speed barrier. The gate and barrier are coupled to allow an extension or a retraction of the gate and barrier in unison. The barrier and gate are supported by left and right columns, and an upper end of the gate is supported by the columns when the gate and barrier are extended.

  • Patent number: 6115964
Abstract: A gate structure is mounted for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis between a closed raised position and a lowered open position. A pair of operating mechanisms each include a horizontal member and a pair of support members. The horizontal members are pivotally connected at their medial portions to the gate structure. The opposite ends of each of the horizontal members are pivotally connected to one end of the associated support members which in turn have the opposite ends thereof mounted for pivotal movement about horizontal axes. Closing devices are connected to opposite sides of the gate structure for normally maintaining the gate structure in its closed raised position.

  • Patent number: 5146710
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling access to a parking space which may utilize either a vehicle body or a tire access blocking barrier. In one embodiment a barrier is pivotally mounted on a parking space floor for movement between an upwardly extending and horizontal position. The barrier is held upright by a spring biased locking pin, which is retracted by a remote control by a vehicle driver to allow the barrier to fall to the horizontal position. Spaced forward and rear plates are pivotally mounted on the space floor and are connected by a bell crank linkage. So, when one plate is pivoted to the floor by a vehicle wheel driving over it, the other plate is pivoted to an upright position. A latch member is carried by the front plate which engages the barrier as the front plte is pivoted to the floor by wheel contact. The front plate and the engaged barrier are pivoted to an upright position when the vehicle backs out and pivots the rear plate to the floor.
