  • Patent number: 8826594
Abstract: A pet door with locking flaps, or lockable pet door. The lockable pet door includes a barrier flap surrounded by one or more locking flaps mounted in the pet door frame. The locking flaps, the barrier flap, and the pet door frame cooperate to provide selective direction control allowing ingress, egress, both, or neither. Each locking flap is independently and selectively attached to the frame of the pet door to prevent movement of the locking flap. Each locking flap defines a through opening. In use, the animal passes through the locking flap on the entry side of the pet door and the locking flap on the exit side moves with the barrier flap. When locked, each locking flap prevents the barrier flap from pivoting to that side of the pet door blocking passage in that direction.

Abstract: A swing flap (10) for the entry and exit of pets comprising a frame (11), which can be fixed to an opening (12) made in a door or a wall, equipped at the top with hinged means of constraint for a flap (20), and a first function selector (30), designed to control the opening and closing functions of the swing flap (10), this selector comprising a knob (29) integral with a first pair of elements (31, 32) being shaped in such a way to allow, respectively: the opening of the flap (20) in a first direction; the opening of the flap (20) in a second direction, opposite to the first direction; the opening of the flap (20) in both directions; blocking of the opening of the flap (20). The first selector (30) is kinematically connected to a second selector (36), not equipped with a knob but with a second pair of elements (31?, 32?) which control the opening and closing of the flap (20) depending on how the knob (29) is turned.

  • Patent number: 7159361
Abstract: A pet door panel insert which has a vertically expandable panel assembly in the upper region thereof installs in a sliding glass patio door or other entity arrangement simply without complicated tools. A positionable structure in the expandable panel assembly is controllingly spaced from a stationary structure of the expandable panel assembly and is actuated upwardly to engage the upper structure of a door frame to sturdily affix the pet door panel insert within the door frame. Opposed vertically adjustable front and rear cover slide plates are frictionally engaged by the upper region of a framework to seal the expandable panel assembly against the outside environment.

  • Patent number: 7063123
Abstract: A panel pet door is an insert into a sliding glass door and has a panel door frame and a movable door flap assembly mounted on the panel door frame. The door flap assembly can slide vertically on the panel door frame along tracks in the vertical stiles of the panel door frame. A plurality of riser spacer panels are also mounted on the panel door frame and are also vertically slidable on the frame via the vertical tracks. The door flap assembly and spacers are selectively removable and replaceable to effect a change in the rise of the door flap assembly and the height of the door flap assembly.

  • Patent number: 6966147
Abstract: An automatic pet door system is disclosed. The automatic pet door system has a rectangular frame mounted between studs of a wall defining a passage for entry and exit of a pet. A door slidably moves within the frame between a lower closed position for closing the passage and an upper open position for opening the passage. The door is lifted by a drive means having a motor pulling a cable attached to the door. The motor is energized by a control means in response to a signal received from a magnetic transmitter worn by a pet when the pet approaches the door. A locking means prevents movement of the door upwardly from the closed position unless the door is moved by way of the drive means.

  • Patent number: 6959511
Abstract: A pet door offering ingress or egress through a structural member. A lock mechanism in the pet door allows the pet owner to restrict ingress and/or egress as desired. The pet door features a dual control system that simplifies the setting of the lock. Each control corresponds to movement of the flap in one direction. The dual control system is also designed to be easier to access than a conventional pet door lock mechanism and to be less susceptible to unintentional adjustment resulting from incidental contact with the controls.

Abstract: A window mounted automatic pet door device having a pet-specific identification component whereby only authorized animals are permitted to access the pet door. The device includes an automatically operated interally sliding door to accommodate pet ingress and egress. The device is intended to solve problems inherent in the prior art by providing for installation and use of the device in a window, including upper floor windows, without significantly modifying the window unit, thereby increasing the availability of suitable installation locations and appealing to pet owners who do not wish to structurally modify their homes. It also provides a pet access platform component to give a pet a convenient structure for approaching the device.
