Abstract: An improved window assembly of the type having sliding, pivoting sashes, includes a window frame having a pair of jambs, a jamb liner secured to each of the jambs, a sash which is slidable within the jambs, and a frictional positioner shoe disposed within a channel in the jamb liner. The frictional positioner shoe provides frictional engagement between the sash and the jamb liners to securely hold the window in a raised position, and providing additional restraint against vertical movement of the shoe and rotational movement of the sash when it is tilted away from the plane of the window opening. Also provided is an improved window of the type having sliding, pivoting sashes, which include an elongate slidable member disposed within a channel in the jamb liner, and a rotatable member having an integrally attached brake member disposed within a bore passing through the elongate slidable member.

Abstract: A pivoting and sliding closure assembly is provided which rides in a guide channel of a frame upon a pivot shoe assembly which at one end securely pivots a closure member upon one pivot shoe when the closure is pivoted away from the channel, and which latches the closure member in a slidable position when the closure member is pivoted to its latched position. The pivot shoes are connected together in the assembly and unique cam structures and rollers are incorporated in the assembly.

Abstract: A panel, such as a door or wall partition, with a unit for swinging and sliding the panel. Particularly, a fixing and locking unit which is located in a housing, and can be retrofitted on all existing door systems. By means of a fixing screw and a locking screw which can be operated from the floor by means of a tool, the door can either be released or blocked in its sliding or its swinging direction.

Abstract: Sash windows of the type having two vertically sliding sashes placed in mutually offset planes for sliding so as to cover each other when opening the window, the sashes being guided in vertical guides (4) cut in a common frame (1), and wherein each sash is equilibrated, i.e. self-retaining, in any position by means of balance springs (5); the sashes being carried by sliding mountings consisting of slide block members (6) having projecting pins (9) engaging elongated oblique guiding grooves in the sash sides, to guide the sash relative to the sliding mountings--and therefore also relative to the pins--so that the sash is subjected to a plane-parallel displacement toward or away from the frame (1), to compress elastomer profiled sealing strips between the sash and the frame or between the middle sections of the sashes to obtain sealing of the window when closed.

Abstract: A window having at least one slidable sash which is capable of being pivoted about a central axis. It may include among its features a selectively movable weather-stripping between stiles, a latch between non-rotating and rotating portions of the sash to prevent rotation, double weather-stripping between sash and frame members to optimize integrity of the window against air and water infiltration, and cooperation between the rails and head and still members to prevent the rails from being separated from the frame where the rotatable portion of the sash is in an open, rotated position for cleaning.

Abstract: A vertically sliding sash window is provided with elongated slide bars seated in recesses of the jambs with the elongated slide bars being pivotally connected to an upper end of the sliding vent of the window. The opposite end of the sliding vent is releasably locked to the slide bars. The sliding vent can thus be slid up and down as a conventional sliding sash window or be pivoted inward for cleaning.
