Abstract: A hyperbaric oxygen chamber for treatment of large animals such as horses is disclosed. The chamber is large enough for a horse to fit inside and comfortably move around. A specially designed davit door, though quite heavy, is easily manipulated and may be used to corral the horse during ingress or egress, and is serviceable using fluorocarbon lubricants. The door, sidewalls, and floor of the hyperbaric chamber are coated with a static dissipative polyurethane material suitable for oxygen environments and may protect the horse from injury and prevent sparks. The flooring is specially designed to allow the horse to eliminate during treatment, and may be cleaned easily and thoroughly without disassembly. The control mechanisms of the hyperbaric chamber include electro-pneumatic controls, for avoiding a fire hazard.

Abstract: A window actuator for a casement window has an actuator housing having a generally channel shaped receptacle portion defined by a rear wall, a front wall generally parallel to the front wall, and two end walls spaced to form therebetween a hollow interior with an open top surrounded by an outwardly extending peripheral flange and a base plate extending from the rear wall beyond the open top for mounting on a window frame. A worm housing is connected to and extends outwardly from the front wall of the housing and holds, by a plastics locking member threaded into the worm housing, a worm which is rotated by a manually actuable crank to drive a rotatable wheel mounted within the hollow interior. The wheel has an outwardly extending portion connected by an arcuate pivotal link to an actuator arm pivoted at its inner end on the base plate and arranged so that in the extended position of the arm, the link goes overcenter against a stop on the housing.

Abstract: A vehicle access system includes an access opening for the passenger compartment that is closed by a swinging door in combination with an articulating door. The articulating door moves through an arc without angling away from the vehicle body and is supported on a hinge assembly that attaches near the center of the door. An arm assembly guides the door throughout its range of positions and maintain the door in an orientation that is substantially parallel to the vehicle body. When the doors are open, an uninterrupted access opening is provided to the area of the second and third seat rows of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6141908
Abstract: The invention provides a door system for a transit vehicle. It has an actuator which provides a rotary motion about an axis of the actuator for moving the door panel between an open position uncovering the aperture and a closed unlocked position covering the aperture. The actuator also provides a linear motion along the axis of the actuator for moving the door panel between the closed unlocked position and a closed locked position. The rotary motion followed by the axial motion is provided by a cylinder having a piston moved by fluid pressure. The piston includes a guide track in its exterior which engages rollers in the cylinder. The guide track has one portion curving around the piston and one portion parallel to the axis. The curving part provides the rotary motion and the straight part provides the axial motion. When the rotary motion is completed the piston encounters a stop on a shaft which supports the door. The actuator then moves the door axially to engage locks.

  • Patent number: 5898977
Abstract: A supporting bracket for windows which can be used on any side of a window and which can be mounted using existing central mount installation tooling is disclosed. The supporting bracket uses dual sided containment of the vent bar end for preventing sash play and uses camming surfaces to allow for immediate sash pull in which prevents weather-strip problems and prevents the supporting bracket from binding during an opening operation. In some embodiments, an end cap engages opposite sides of a symmetric vent bar end. In another embodiment, a pin attached to the vent bar is engaged on opposite sides by a track formed within the main track of the supporting bracket. In all embodiments, the vent bar and the link pivotally connecting the vent bar to the track are prevented from moving in a direction opposite the direction of opening during an opening operation. The arms of the supporting bracket may have fully rounded edges for preventing binding between adjacent arms during load.

One ends of links 8 having guide rollers 9 are pivotally secured to an upper frame of the windows 2 and 3 which are accommodated within an outer frame 1. The guide roller 9 can move along a guide rail 11 which is formed on a top segment 1a of the outer frame 1. A sliding roller 12 with an auxiliary roller attached thereon is installed in a lower frame df of each of the windows 2 and 3, and the sliding roller 12 can move along a sliding rail 13 which is formed on a bottom segment 1b of the outer frame 1.
