Formations on the ring and on the retainer are interengageable in any of a multiplicity of angularly offset position of the retainer relative to the eccentric ring and retain the ring against rotation in the hole relative to the bodies. The pin is in a different position relative to the window hole in each of the angularly offset positions.

The runner (25) and the guiding slideway (22) are joined together by press-fitting the runner (25) onto a central rib (24) of the guiding slideway (22) by elastically deforming the runner (25).

If the geometry is the same for raised and lowered positions, the same cushioning will also occur in the window lowered position. The spring rate increases as compression occurs. The cushion can be a foam butyl rubber strip or a metal spring of various types. The spring rate can be tailored by making the cushion a dual density foam strip, a foam strip with holes of varying sizes to provide a variable cross-section, or a coated foam strip. An integral stop can be included in the form of a hard plastic shell for the foam strip or spring.

These members, being formed of nylon, will deflect inwardly sufficiently to permit the slightly enlarged humps of the "window things" to be snapped through the precut holes in the replacement windows.
