  • Publication number: 20090019780
Abstract: A device for displaceably holding a glass pane (1) in a sliding rail has at least one fastening part (2) to which a hot-melt adhesive cushion (7) is fitted and which has at least one locking element (10, 11). Furthermore, there is an elongate holding rail (3) which can be brought into engagement with the or each locking element (10, 11). The or each locking element (10, 11) can be moved between a locking position, in which the or each fastening part (2) is connected fixedly to the holding rail (3), and a release position in which the engagement with the holding rail (3) is released and the glass pane (1) can be removed from the holding rail (3). As a result, repair due to wear of the holding rail (3) is less cost-intensive, since the glass pane (1) is connected releasably to the holding rail (3).

  • Patent number: 7246466
Abstract: A combination of profiles for forming slider and double hung sash windows or patio doors includes a common outer profile and two different inner profiles so that one inner profile can be used to form the double hung and the other to form the slider. This allows the slider top inner to be cut away to form a floating section resting on the top of the sash. This allows the drain holes to be formed separately in the inner and the outer to be longitudinally offset to prevent direct air penetration. The sash frame is formed with a removable glass stop on one side which snaps into engagement at right angles to the glass surface of the sealed unit to allow formation of a tri-pane with 0.5 inch spacing and to allow the use of two strips of adhesive one on each side of the sealed unit with no need for drainage.

  • Publication number: 20040139659
Abstract: A window jamb component assembly mountable in the jambs of a double hung window for cooperative engagement with the sash assemblies thereof. The component assembly includes a longitudinally elongated jamb liner having upper and lower segments comprising a pair of channel guides spaced apart by a profiled web. The profiled web defines sequentially aligned recesses, namely an inner weather stripping recess, a jamb filler recess and an outer weather stripping recess. A jamb filler, held by the jamb filler recess, provides a uniformly clad surface for the jambs to match the appearance of the trim of the double hung window. Frame weather stripping for sealingly engaging the sash assemblies of the double hung window is deployed and held in the inner and outer weather stripping recesses. Such assembly provides a visually pleasing finish for the window jambs, while providing improved cooperation between the window jamb and the sash assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5934031
Abstract: Wind resistance of a window mounting tilt sash between a pair of jamb liners is increased by braces that attach to frame sides of the jamb liners at the check rail region of the window. The braces have a profile that fits a frame side profile of the jamb liners, including brace channels that receive and support shoe channels of the jamb liners. The braces help the jamb liners resist deformation in response to wind force and significantly increase the wind resistance of the window.

  • Patent number: 4872498
Abstract: The specification discloses a door light providing improved drainage, improved sealing between sashes, and improved sealing between frame components. Brackets are mounted on the sill at discrete locations to hold the screen and the movable sash off the sill to provide drainage and eliminate capillary action which would otherwise draw moisture to the frame interior. The meeting rails include resiliently deflectable interlock flanges which engage and are biased against one another when the movable sash is closed to improve the seal therebetween. A frame trim piece interfits with the frame body and deflects a resiliently deformable flap integral with the frame body to effect a weather seal between the trim piece and frame body.

  • Patent number: 4807395
Abstract: A sliding window is disclosed for use in homes, apartments or businesses. A frame is provided having a sill, header, jambs and a mullion all of which can be produced from extruded aluminum sections assembled into a rigid frame. Two framed window panels are contained in the rigid frame, one panel has a fixed location the other panel slides relative to the rigid frame. Each panel is carried in a separate groove having a vinyl liner. The grooves are separated by a spacer. The sliding panel rides on rollers in its respective groove and is opened, closed and locked by a handle. The fixed panel also rides on rollers and is fixed in its location by the removable mullion which securely locks the frame header and sill together. The mullion has tabs extends through one of two sets of slots in the header and sill where it is secured by a screw. The fixed panel may be located on the left or right hand side of the frame as desired. One set of slots is used by the mullion to lock the fixed panel in the desired location.

  • Patent number: 4042004
Abstract: An on-site reglazable window assembly suitable for mounting in an aperture in a wall of a recreational vehicle and comprising a stationary glass panel, a slidable glass panel, a slidable screen panel, and slidable storm panels. All of the panels are removably positioned within a generally rectangular frame formed of a unitary metal extrusion having a plurality of flanges which provide glazing channels for the panels and means for mounting the frame to the vehicle wall. One of the exterior flanges includes a key-shaped slot which receives a correspondingly keyed flexible gasket along the entire perimeter of the frame. The gasket has a plurality of splines attached to a compressible tube so that the splines and tube are compressed between the inner surface of the exterior flange and the outer surface of the vehicle wall. The slidable screen and storm panels slide within respective channels of a removable multiple channel track.
