In addition, an adult height handle having a bottom edge is mounted on the frame at a first height from a floor adjacent the door, and a child height handle is mounted on the frame at a height below the bottom edge of the adult height handle. It is also contemplated that the two handles can be combined into a single elongate handle. This ensures that a child, who cannot reach the adult height handle, has access to a door handle for opening and closing the sliding screen door.

    Abstract: The door reinforcement assembly includes a reinforcement plate secured to the interior surface of one of the door jambs in an overlying relationship with a projection of the door hardware. A portion of the reinforcement plate is visible when it has been secured to the door jamb, and a decorative cover is retained on the plate to conceal the visible portion thereof. The decorative cover and reinforcement plate are preferably configured so that the cover is retained without the use of fasteners (e.g., the cover snaps onto the reinforcement plate). The door hardware associated with the reinforcement plate may comprise a strike plate or an inventive high security door hinge. The high security door hinge includes a door plate fastened to the door, a jamb plate fastened to the corresponding jamb and pivotally interconnected with the door plate, and a reinforcement projection projecting transversely from each of the plates to engage and extend along the interior surface of the door or jamb.

    Abstract: An operator for moving a closure, such as a window or a door rotatably mounted to a frame, between open and closed positions. The operator including first and second rotatable shafts, a fixed shaft, and a handle. The first and second rotatable shafts and the handle being rotatably mounted to the closure while the fixed shaft is non-rotatably mounted to the frame. The fixed shaft including a gear, the first shaft including a gear at each end thereof, and the second shaft including a gear at one end thereof and the handle at the other end thereof. One of the gears of the first shaft engaging the gear of the fixed shaft and the other one of the gears of the first shaft engaging the gear of the second shaft. To operate the closure operator, a user rotates the handle which rotates the second shaft causing the first shaft to rotate. The geared engagement of the first shaft to the fixed shaft causes the closure to rotate with respect to the frame.

    Abstract: A locking device for a vehicle door in which a handle unit fixed to a door outer panel and a door latch unit fixed to a door inner panel are prevented from making a substantial shift in their relative positions for the sake of normal operation even under sideways minor impacts or the like. A door latch reinforcement for fixing the door latch unit is fixed to the door inner panel. Handle stations, to which threaded portions of the handle unit are fastened, are formed by being bent in a handle mount opening formed in the door outer panel. The door latch reinforcement and the handle stations are connected to each other with a handle bracket. Since the door latch unit and the handle unit are connected to each other via the handle bracket, the two units make no substantial shift in their relative positions even under sideways minor impacts or the like, thereby allowing the normal operation of the door lock device even after the minor impacts.
