  • Patent number: 5185977
Abstract: A loading dock shelter with hinge gap closure wherein reinforced side curtains seal corner/hinge areas, as a truck/trailer is backed into a loading dock, to thereby form a protective weather seal. Hinge gap closures having side curtains for right and left portions of the shelter are each adapted to set the curtains parallel to the door of the dock in the normal position, when the dock is not in use, thereby protecting the door from inclement weather, etc. When a trailer is moved into the dock, reverse mobility of the vehicle is such as to cause the side curtains to be deflected from normal inoperative position, to extend them along the side of the respective trailer swing doors, whereby a collapsible wedge on the extreme extension of each curtain encompasses the gas created by the truck and its swing door, in sealing contact, preparatory to and during loading and off-loading.

  • Patent number: 5182880
Abstract: This apparatus uses cladding to cover the inner surfaces of a door frame. The cladding also overlaps the door nose and its mounting screws. Two-sided adhesive tape on one edge of the cladding attaches the cladding to the door nose. The cladding has a perpendicular integral fin which extends into an opposed mating slit parallel to the door frame edge in the door frame inner surface. This combination aligns the cladding parallel to the door frame and holds theh cladding in place against tangential forces. An outwardly extending groove from the edge of the door frame opposite the door nose and parallel to the edge terminates in a keyway. The edge of the cladding opposite the nose has an perpendicular inset, which is sized to fit within the groove in the door frame. The inset terminates in an inwardly directed projecting key. The end of this key is pointed to engage the door frame keyway to hold that edge of the cladding securely in place.

  • Patent number: 4949506
Abstract: This is a window assembly with one sliding window, one fixed window and a rectangular framework made up of extruded framework members with the same cross-sectional profile except for small segments that are removed in the framework members along which the sliding windows slide. Three of these framework members support the fixed window pane along three edges. The sliding window has extruded peripheral members along its edges which have the same cross-sectional profile as one another except where small segments are removed in two of them to slidably interfit with the two framework members along which the sliding window slides. An additional peripheral member of this cross-section is part of the framework and supports the fixed window along its remaining edge. Springs inside the two framework members along which the sliding windows slide urge the sliding window to an open position.
