With Handle Patents (Class 492/13)
  • Patent number: 5393289
Abstract: An improved roofing handroller for both press-welding and/or sealing overlapping edges of roofing material sheets together. The present invention provides a roofing handroller comprising a body defining a handle, two extended L-shaped roller bearing sections, each attached at an end of the handle, and two rollers, each rotatably mounted on a roller bearing section.

  • Patent number: 5386611
Abstract: A paint roller support assembly comprises an elongated handgrip member having an internally threaded sleeve at its distal end and a roller-supporting rod member attached to the handgrip member by an externally threaded portion. The roller-supporting rod member is L-shaped, having mutually perpendicular leg portions. Each leg portion receives a rotatable paint roller assembly in a position such that longitudinal elements of the roller surfaces in the plane of the leg portions and nearest to the handgrip member form an internal corner. The threaded connection between the roller-supporting member and the handgrip member permits the roller assembly on the leg having the threaded portion to be removed and replaced. The paint roller support assembly is intended for simultaneously painting surfaces that face generally away from and laterally, relative to the user.

  • Patent number: 5386610
Abstract: A paint application device for painting a surface having an inside edge includes a handle, a paint application member and a guide member connected to the handle for guiding the paint application member with respect to an inside corner of the surface to be painted. Preferably, the guide member is extendible from the handle for an adjustable distance to adjustably set a desired distance between the inside corner and the paint application member. The guide member extends along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the handle. A wing screw is provided for holding the guide member in a desired extended position. The guide member preferably has at least one roller engageable with the inside corner of the surface to be painted. The guide member is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the handle. A hinge tightening handle is provided to prevent rotational movement of the rotatable portion of the guide from a desired angular position.

  • Patent number: 5249330
Abstract: A paint roller applicator to create in a user's mind that a paint roller applicator is a tool that can replace a paint brush for applying paint to large or small surfaces, with the invention including a socket housing for holding a paint roller frame, with the socket housing mountable on the base of a conventional paint brush handle, so that a user has a conventional paint brush handle as a hand grip on a paint roller applicator to acquaint the user that a paint roller applicator can be used on large or small surfaces. The user can mount the frame of the paint roller applicator directly in the base of the paint brush handle or in a socket housing that is frictionally held in the normal ferrule band on a flat blade paint brush handle with the socket housing including a member for interlocking connecting the frame of a paint roller applicator thereto and lips for holding my paint roller applicator on the edge of paint tray when the paint roller applicator is not in use.

  • Patent number: 5242362
Abstract: A light-weight roller for rolling covering to uniformly distribute adhesive between the floor covering and floor, and to remove bubbles from therebetween. The roller utilizes removable, adjustable diameter rollers and has an adjustable handle to provide a variable rolling force on the floor covering depending upon the weight applied by the installer. The device is capable of applying floor coverings in a toe-kick space and in removing bubbles from beneath the floor covering.

  • Patent number: 5210899
Abstract: A paint roller bearing with offsetting core support surface for use in small diameter paint roller applicators that permit the user to change a paint roller quickly and efficiently on a paint roller applicator, with the bearing having an axle-engaging member that clamps to the axle of a paint roller frame to rotatably secure the bearing to the axle of a paint roller frame. The paint roller bearing offset surfaces permit molding the bearing using in inexpensive open and shut molding process while still providing a central opening in the bearing. An alternative embodiment includes friction ridges to hold a paint roller core on the bearing.

  • Patent number: 5206979
Abstract: A specialty paint finish roller composed of a substantially conventional roller handle assembly having an axle, a roller tube, a pair of bushings for rotatably interfacing with the at least one axle of the roller handle assembly, and a disposable, generally cylindrically shaped rag component twisted around the roller tube, tucked into the axial cavity of the roller tube at either end thereof and secured thereto by a press fit of the bushings with respect to the axial cavity of the roller tube. The rag component is more or less twisted with respect to the roller tube. A specialty finish is provided by the specialty paint finish roller using either the positive application method or the negative application method. Rag components are easily replaceable during the job in order to achieve a maximally artistic result, as could formerly only be achievable using hands-on rag rolling techniques.

  • Patent number: 5207755
Abstract: A universally adjustable paint roller in which the roller may be adjusted about three orthogonally disposed axes. The paint roller includes a roller head; a support arm having first and second ends with the roller head being rotatably supported on the first end; a handle for allowing a user to hold the paint roller; and a universal rotating mechanism for rotatably securing the support arm to the handle such that the roller head can be rotated with respect to the handle about three independent axes disposed orthogonally with respect to one another to enable the roller head to be universally adjustable, wherein the roller head is rotatable 360 .degree. about at least two of the axes. The paint roller further includes lock mechanisms for locking the rotating mechanism in a desired position.
