  • Patent number: 7947149
Abstract: A web of a first sheet material and a web of a second sheet material are laminated together by a process wherein the sheet materials are wound, in an interleaved relationship, upon a roller having a radially displaceable outer surface. The roller and webs and then subjected to heating and/or a low-pressure environment so as to complete the lamination. A body of adhesive material, such as a hot melt adhesive, may be interposed between the webs and the heating or low pressure environment can activate this adhesive. Further disposed are particular configurations of rollers with radially displaceable surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7624609

A rolling pressure is maintained on other areas of the sheet article that is less than the bulk elastic yield strength of the metal. A cold rolling apparatus is also described having a pair of rolls, each with partially cylindrical outer surfaces. The rolls have a gap between the cylindrical parts. One of the rolls has a localized surface region that is displaced relative to the surface of the roll. When the localized region is brought near the other roll, a spacing exists that is narrower than the gap. • Patent number: 7322175
Abstract: A forage conditioner for conditioning cut crop material from a forage harvester includes a fixed bottom fluted roller carried in end housings and a top fluted roller which is pivotally mounted on the housings by a linkage pivotal relative to the housing about an axis lying in a plane at right angles to the roller axes so that the top roller is liftable from crushing position against the bias of a spring extending along the top roller. Flutes on the rollers are arranged with a first surface on one side which extends substantially radially outwardly to an apex and a second surface which has a first portion parallel to a tangent of the roller and a second portion inclined inwardly to the roller surface at an angle significantly less than 90 degrees. The bottom roller is arranged with the first surfaces leading to carry the crop into the area between the rollers and the top roller is arranged with the first surface trailing.

  • Patent number: 7322917
Abstract: The rotating cylinder for processing a web material comprises an essentially rigid cylindrical core (13), on which is fitted an interchangeable sleeve (45) of elastically expandable material whose rigidity is less than that of the material of the core; the sleeve is axially and angularly fixable to the core and is provided on its outer surface with a relief pattern. For each end of the 3 cylinder, there is provided at least one corresponding mechanical locking member which can be fixed to the corresponding end of the core of the cylinder and which interacts with the corresponding end of the interchangeable sleeve to lock the interchangeable sleeve angularly with respect to the core of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 7263739
Abstract: The cleaning implement includes a shaft having an operator end and a cleaning end, a mop head comprising a liquid-absorbent material and a wringing mechanism. The mop head and the wringing mechanism are movable relative to one another between at least a cleaning position and a plurality of wringing positions. The wringing mechanism includes a roller which compresses at least a portion of the liquid-absorbent material to thereby expel liquid therefrom. The plastic roller has a plurality of spaced ribs defining cavities therebetween. The ribs are complementally shaped and dimensioned to allow rolling contact relative to the liquid absorbent material as travel takes place between the cleaning position and a wringing position.

  • Patent number: 7204290
Abstract: A cover peeling machine includes a pair of rolls. The roll has an almost conical shape. Both of the rolls are rotated in a reverse direction. The direction of the rotation is an inward direction as seen from above. A golf ball is put close to a tip of the roll. In the vicinity of the tip, a distance between a nip of the roll and the golf ball is short. Therefore, a clip portion formed on the golf ball can be easily bitten between the rolls. With the rotation of the roll, a cover is peeled from a core. A groove formed on a surface of the roll can prevent the roll and the cover from slipping. After the removal, the cover and the core are recycled respectively.

  • Patent number: 7125012
Abstract: A feed wheel includes a hub and a discontinuous tread removably fitted about the hub. At leading and trailing ends of the discontinuous tread are mateable non-planar female and male surfaces which interfit with one another and tend to interlock the tread ends together. The tread has locking lugs formed under leading and trailing ends and an intermediate segment of the tread which fit into holes configured and located in the hub complimentarily to the locking lugs. The holes and locking lugs are oriented relative to one another so as to enable the tread to be retained about the hub with the tread ends interlocked together during operation of the feed wheel.

  • Patent number: 7008123
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image-forming device that comprises a roller that includes a plurality of micromembers. The micromembers are preferably hook or loop-like members made of a compliant material such as plastic or rubber. The micromembers on the roller essentially define a compliant surface, which is self-correcting for unintentional media thickness variations within a print area. The roller is rotational such that when the roller contacts the media the rotational or spinning force is converted to a compressional force, which is sufficient to rupture the microcapsules in the media.
