  • Patent number: 7260856
Abstract: In certain preferred embodiments, the present invention provides a cot assembly that includes side pieces, supporting end pieces and bedding material. Preferably the cot assembly holds the end pieces a spaced apart distance, and in one feature allows a side piece to be selectively released. In one embodiment, the end pieces move towards each other to release a side piece, optionally by sliding a side piece through an end piece channel. In one preferred embodiment, the bedding material is mounted to and retained by the end pieces and extends across the interior of the cot to overlap or enclose the side pieces without any gaps between the material, the side pieces and the end pieces. In other embodiments, the invention includes an improved method for attaching the material to the end pieces and an improved cot assembly method. In a preferred option, the bedding material is continuously attached to the end piece along a portion of an end piece.

  • Patent number: 7207622
Abstract: A lounge chair having a frame supported by legs, which may or may not have wheels incorporated therewith, and at least first and second adjustable backrest portions pivotally attached to the chair. When a sunbather wishes to sit on the lounge chair in an inclined position with his or her back supported, he or she inclines one of the backrest members which will position the sunbather in the most optimal position relative to the sun for sun bathing. As the sun passes overhead to a point which causes the sunbather's exposure to the sun to be diminished, the sunbather may merely drop the first backrest portion down to a horizontal or other desired position, adjust the second backrest portion to a position of inclination which suits the sunbather, and turn him or herself around 180° to lay in the opposite direction in the lounge chair.

  • Patent number: 7207077
Abstract: A backpacker/mountaineers cot that is lightweight enough to be carried in the backcountry and that is assembled using a minimal of structural cot components in conjunction with various commonly used mountaineer's tools. It allows the elimination of the piece of foam or the inflatable sleeping pad that mountaineers generally backpack. Instead, the mountaineer incorporates his trekking poles, ice ax and internal frame backpack stays with the cot's structural components to form a lightweight, strong or the appropriate assembly of the cot.

  • Patent number: 7114205
Abstract: A collapsible bed frame (18) for supporting a mattress, the collapsible frame (18) having a number of frame members (32). A number of pivots (34) connect pairs of the frame members (32) at the midpoints of the frame members (32) to make a number of scissor pairs (35). Pivot assemblies (36) pivotally attach the upper ends of the frame members (32) to upper connector assemblies (40), and pivotally attach lower ends of the frame members (32) to feet (38), thus connecting the scissor pairs (35) to form an extended scissors-frame assembly (33). The upper connector assemblies (40) form a support surface for a mattress.

  • Patent number: 7103927
Abstract: A cot having a frame that is configured so that one end, such as the head end of the cot, is recessed within the other end, i.e., the foot end of the cot, when the cot is folded. As an example, the legs of one end may recess into the legs of the other end. To this end, the bifold cot may include a head portion having a tapered section forming a narrowed head end. This narrowed head end, or a leg or legs associated therewith, is received within the frame (or associated legs) for the foot portion of the bifold cot when the bifold cot is folded. A trifold cot is also provided that also has an extension that may be folded against the head portion, and the extension and the head portion may be folded and recessed at least partly within the frame at the foot portion.

Abstract: A joining assembly for a child's bed is provided. A child's bed according to the invention mainly contains a mesh structure, bedposts, and supporting rods embedded in the four rim of the rectangular mesh structure. By installing the supporting rods into the positioning holes on the bedposts, the mesh structure is expanded to a flat surface for a child to sleep or play on it. Each of the four corners of the mesh structure has a hook attached to it respectively. The hook is hooked to the rim of a positioning plate of the bedpost so that there is no gap left between the bedposts and the mesh structure.

  • Patent number: 6938288
Abstract: A kit for converting a cross-legged folding cot into a tiered cot, which stilt legs having a longitudinal axis, a top end and a bottom end. A female coupling is positioned at the top end of each of the stilt legs. Each female coupling is offset from the longitudinal axis by between 45 degrees and 65 degrees, and is adapted to receive a leg from a first cross-legged folding cot. With each female coupling holding a leg of a first cross-legged folding cot, the first cot is effectively elevated, such that gear can be stowed or a second cot can be positioned in the space provided beneath the first cot between the stilt legs.

Abstract: An adjustable cot for supporting a pregnant woman, in which an elongate frame (14) includes leg members (24) to support the frame spaced-apart from a surface. A fabric sheet (16) attaches to the frame (12). A central portion of the fabric sheet defines a receiving recess (12) extending in a first direction from a plane defined by the frame. The receiving recess (12) adjusts from a first depth to a second depth by drawcards (34) in channels 32 in the receiving recess.
