Knockdown Patents (Class 5/114)
  • Patent number: 4219896
Abstract: The apparatus disclosed includes essentially a cot structure comprising, in combination, a folding frame having a flexible cover yieldable to body contour, and legs supporting said frame in displaced relation to a floor surface; said legs having a spring cantilever configuration and torsion residing in a single continuous bar member with opposite ends adapted to be received and held by said frame member; sockets so disposed in said frame member adapted to slidably receive the opposite ends of said leg bar members such that downward force on said legs secures the same in said sockets in rigid mode relative to said frame; hinges longitudinally disposed along the siderails of said cot structure as part of the same frame, said hinges each having a downwardly disposed pivot with upwardly disposed engaging interfaces, said interfaces engaging in occlusive buttress contact to distribute downwardly applied weight in a resolution of coherent force moments in optimum relation about said pivotal juncture for occupant su

  • Patent number: 4216556
Abstract: An extrication splint for injury victims is provided which is assembled beneath the victim at the accident site and assumes the contour of the victim so that he need not be extended into lying position in order to fit on a conventional gurny. The structure consists of a plurality of cross-bars which are slid beneath the victim who may be, for example, in an automobile seat, and a pair of parallel siderails having several jointed segments to accommodate natural bends in the body are assembled to the cross-bars on each side of the victim subsequent to which the rail joints are tightened and the victim is removed on a rigid structure.

  • Patent number: 4143434
Abstract: In a folding bed comprising two hinged half-shells which form a valise in their closed position and a bed plane with unfolded frame and feet members in their open position, the means for locking said shells and members in the open position are coupled with means for identifying at a distance from one side of the cot the locked, respectively the unlocked position of the locking means.

  • Patent number: 4034518
Abstract: A portable cot and table which folds into a carrying case in which bedding or other equipment may be packed for travel and storage. Extensions may be added to the basic cot so that the length of the cot can be increased to accommodate the particular person using it. The legs are extensible so that the flat sleeping surface can be raised to the normal height of a table. Removable cups are provided for receiving each of the legs of the cot and the cups may be filled with a repellant or insecticide to prevent insects from crawling up the legs of the cot.

  • Patent number: 3971495
Abstract: A combination camper's tent, cot and pack frame, formed of a light telescopic shaped tubular frame to which a fabric in the form of a sleeping bag and cover is fastened. The telescopic tubular frame pulls apart to form the support for the bed in the extended mode and nests together to form a pack frame, in the folded mode. A pouch is fitted on one surface of the pack and serves to hold clothes and supplies.

  • Patent number: 3967330
Abstract: A folding bed having a rectangular frame divided longitudinally into four equal sections and foldable to have each section lie flat against the next adjacent section. The two central sections are pivotable about a non-foldable leg and are foldable to lie against such leg. The two outer sections are supported in use by foldable legs while one of the outer sections is inclined to the plane of the frame when in its open position.

  • Patent number: 3967327
Abstract: An elongated, normally horizontally disposed, generally rectangular base frame supported adjacent to its opposite ends by pairs of legs, and a pair of end frames each having a pair of spaced parallel posts connected adjacent one end by a cross-member and pivotally connected at their other ends to the legs at one end of the base frame for movements between operative generally vertical positions and folded generally horizontal positions overlying the base frame. An elongated top frame is detachably mounted to the end frames adjacent the cross members and, like the base frame, is provided with a body supporting sheet. An intermediate frame, similar to the top frame, is detachably mounted between the end frames, and top and intermediate frames being adapted to be horizontally disposed and held in stacked relationship between the base frame and the end frames in their folded positions.
