Abstract: A free-standing V Flat for photography and similar use formed of two panels joined at the center by a hinge or similar hinged attachment. A crossbar is provided to join the upper corners of the V Flat for securing the panels in an open position and for supporting backdrops and similar items. The crossbar is formed of two independent bar units that are configurable by a user to contact one another such that at least portions of each of the bar units overlap with one another. The degree of overlap determines the length of the resultant crossbar, thereby allowing a user to customize the crossbar to accommodate any of various angles assumed by the V Flat.

Abstract: A pillow is provided that includes a first panel having an edge defining a perimeter. A second panel has an edge defining a perimeter. A gusset joins the first and second panels. The gusset has a first porosity. The gusset includes a plurality of ports. The ports each have a second porosity that is greater than the first porosity.

Abstract: A reversable baby activity blanket that turns into a toddler pillowcase that provides entertainment and comfort and includes two detachable pillowcases with zippers, having the inner, reversible pillowcase with fastening material loops on three of the four corners, to securely hold baby sensory items (pacifiers, lightweight toys and blankets, teethers, soft books, small stuffed animals). When reversed and zipped shut, it offers a clean environment for said baby sensory items to be stored. A removably attached polyester tether snaps on to the fourth corner of the inner pillowcase to securely hold a Velcro bracelet or scrunchie to fit baby's wrist and can also be worn separately to carry said items. The outer pillowcase includes a snap to securely hold a fleece cloth, which when infused with mother's scent, offers a sense of security for baby. When age appropriate, the detachable outer pillowcase can be used with a toddler-sized pillow.

Abstract: The present invention provides an information acquisition device, comprising: a cushion for supporting a subject to be tested; a neck pillow for the subject to be tested to place his neck thereon; a fiber-optic sensor group for obtaining physical signs of the subject to be tested; and a signal acquisition module connected to the fiber-optic sensor group; wherein the signal acquisition module is wrapped in the neck pillow, the fiber-optic sensor group is placed in the cushion, and the neck pillow is connected with the cushion. In the present invention, by setting a neck pillow connected with the cushion so that the subject can adjust the body position independently without assistance to a preferred measurement position, and can complete information acquisition by himself. In addition, the signal acquisition module is placed in the neck pillow, so that the structure of the information acquisition device is more concise.

The outer enclosure has a pillow width and a pillow thickness, wherein the pillow width is greater than the pillow thickness at the first pillow end region and the pillow thickness is greater than the pillow width at the opposing second pillow end region.

Abstract: A nursing pillow has three cushionable inserts of at least two different firmnesses. The user may install or remove any of the inserts through an opening in the outer shell of the pillow. A thermal therapy pocket is joined to an inner panel of the outer shell of the pillow, and is oriented vertically so as to face the torso of the mother.

Abstract: A protective pillow cover for protecting a pillow against germs and microbes. A barrier component is constructed with at least two layers configured in a generally cuboid shape defining a cavity. An inner layer employs an anti-microbial component creating a barrier between the user and the pillow. An outer layer is constructed with a material designed for the user's comfort. The layers terminate in a perimeter. A securing component shorter than the perimeter is integrated into the perimeter and is stretchable to allow the barrier component to partially encapsulate the pillow. A middle layer of the barrier component may be used to provide cooling or a pleasing olfactory experience.

The pillowcase further comprises a second contiguous top layer of a polyester nylon wicking microsuede and a third contiguous top layer of a polyurethane laminate material. The first layer of the pillowcase is adjacent to the top exterior of the pillowcase. The pillowcase further comprises a bottom layer of the polyester mesh wicking fabric. The pillowcase has a bottom layer that is adjacent to the bottom exterior of the pillowcase. The pillowcase further can have a second contiguous bottom layer of the polyester nylon wicking microsuede and a third contiguous bottom layer of the polyurethane laminate material.

Abstract: The present application discloses an improved top sheet, referred to as Top Pocket Sheet (TPS). The TPS comprises a pocket for holding a comforter or blanket so that the comforter or blanket stays with the top sheet during a night of sleep. The pocket can be permanently or temporarily formed. The pocket can be secured to the top sheet via different means.

Abstract: A face cradle cover for a massage table is a seamless, one-piece cover made from a flat cotton sheet cut to form a panel of material that is bilaterally symmetrical forming two lobes with top, bottom and intermediate portions, the top portions together spanning the head end of the cover and the bottom and intermediate portions being separated by a narrow slit and a medial opening, respectively. A narrow slit extends inward from the heel edge of the panel to the medial opening. A thin elastic strip extends around the external periphery of the panel from one side of the slit to the other side of the slit. A soft stitch or overlock serging extends internally around the medial opening from one end of the elastic strip to the other end of the elastic strip.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an inflatable bed. The inflatable bed includes a tensioning assembly and an air valve, and further includes an upper piece, a bottom piece, a left piece, a right piece, a front piece, and a rear piece which cooperatively form an inflatable cavity. A left ring frame and a right ring frame are respectively provided on the left and right sides of the upper piece. The tensioning assembly is connected to the inner wall of the inflatable cavity. The air valve is communicated with the inflatable cavity. The inflatable bed of the present disclosure is simple in structure and more economical under the premise of preventing turning sideways.

A cushion for decompressing the human spinal column comprise a body support surface, and a curved bottom surface wherein the curve of the bottom surface increases or decreases in radius from one end to the other. The curve of the bottom surface may have the shape of an incomplete portion of a two-dimensional spiral.

Abstract: A pillowcase having a cavity that accommodates therein a pillow and having an open pocket within the cavity that accommodates therein a neck support cushion. The open pocket has a slit that is fully accessible after folding the pillowcase inside out. The open pocket may be closed by a releasable fastener, such as fabric strips that tie to each other into knots across the slit.

Abstract: The neck support pillow includes a main pillow body and a neck support member releasably engaged to the main pillow body. The neck support member includes a first body portion covering at least part of a first face of the main pillow body adjacent an edge of the main pillow body for supporting the neck in use and a second body portion extending from the first portion over the edge of the main pillow body towards a second face of the main pillow body. The neck support member provides a raised surface relative to the main pillow body surface for supporting the neck in use. Neck support members and uses of the neck support members are also described.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methodology for reducing humidity (i.e., moisture) and/or heat within and/or adjacent a patient support mattress, without requiring any electrical power. A spacer fabric is used to create a non-crushable area of support below a patient's core area, where moisture and heat more commonly buildup. Integrated air cells in the mattress have resilient elements such as open-celled foam interiors. The air cells are connected by air tubing to the spacer fabric, and the mattress is otherwise vented externally from the spacer fabric. As a result, the patient's movement causes air to be expelled from or drawn into the air cells, which in turn results in air movement in the spacer fabric below a patient or user, resulting in cooling effects by removing moisture and/or heat, all without requiring external or internal electrical power.

Abstract: The present invention is generally related to pillowcases and travel pillows, and more particularly related to one or more embodiments of a pillow wherein the pillowcase (or the travel pillow itself) includes an attached and adjustable eye-covering apparatus for improving a user's sleep by blocking ambient light from reaching the user's eye while the user is utilizing the herein disclosed pillow.

Abstract: Thickness-adjustable travel pillows including travel pillows comprised of a flexible exterior cover and one or more inserts that are used to adjust the thickness and feel of the travel pillow. In some examples, the travel pillow includes multiple segments of inserts to allow a varying thickness across different portions of the travel pillow. In still further examples, the inserts themselves may vary in thickness.

The angled top surface of the head support positions a user's jaw in a downward angled position when the individual is laying face down on the pillow of the present invention. An optional base (7) may extend downward from the bottom surface of the head support to elevate the head support and to provide additional space for the user to place his or her arms around and/or under the perimeter edge 5 the head support.

Abstract: A method for alleviating the dizziness symptoms of a person suffering from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo comprising the steps of: positioning the head of the person on a head-rest device that is formed of a first pillow structure; a second pillow structure with at least one slanted surface; and a non-permanent fastener on at least one surface of the first pillow structure and one surface of the second pillow structure so that the first and the second pillow can be placed in a user-selected configuration one on top of the other and the relative positions of the first pillow structure to the second pillow structure is fixed by the non-permanent fastener. The second pillow structure overhangs the first pillow structure so as to define an overhang region. The method includes the step of adjusting the second pillow structure so as to position a sleeping surface of the second pillow structure at an angle between about 20 degrees and 60 degrees relative to a horizontal reference surface.

Abstract: In one aspect, a system and method are provided herein in support of selecting bedding. The system includes a plurality of differently configured pillows; and, a plurality of pillow cover napkins each configured to rest upon one of the pillows in acting as a cleanliness barrier for a person's head resting on the pillow. Advantageously, the system allows for a user to sample various bedding, including mattresses and/or pillows, in a hygienic manner. In particular, the system allows for a user to select a pillow from the differently configured pillows which is suited to one's preferences to use in sampling various mattresses. The napkin is placed by the user atop the selected pillow in sampling the mattresses. The napkin acts as a cleanliness barrier between the user's head and the sampled bedding. A person's comfort level in sampling mattresses and/or pillows may be heightened in this manner.

Abstract: A pillow cover includes a top sheet with a peripheral edge, a bottom sheet with a peripheral edge, and a gusset. The gusset is affixed between the top sheet peripheral edge and the bottom sheet peripheral edge. The gusset is stretchable in a circumferential direction. A pillow includes a stuffing material, and the foregoing the foregoing pillow cover for encasing the stuffing material. When the pillow cover is stuffed with the stuffing material, the stretchable gusset crowns the pillow.

Abstract: An integrated padded mesh material may be used in pillows or pillowcases for improved air flow around a user of the pillow or pillowcase during rest. When used in a pillow, the material may substantially cover the side of the pillow that a user's head rests upon. Other materials, such as mesh and satin materials, may be used to complete construction of the pillow. The pillow may take on familiar shapes, such as a dog. When the integrated padded mesh material is used in a pillowcase the pillowcase may be wrapped around a conventional pillow to increase air flow during rest. The pillowcase may include several layers such as the integrated padded mesh material and an allergy-blocking fabric.

Abstract: Implementations of a reconfigurable pillow cover are provided. In some implementations, the pillow cover comprises six pieces of material configured to achieve at least eight different design configurations of the pillow cover. In some implementations, the pillow cover includes a functional zipper to achieve additional design looks for the pillow cover. In some implementations, the zipper is functional when the material attached to the zipper is exposed on a first side and when the material attached to the zipper is reversed thereby exposing another side of the material. In some implementation, the pillow cover comprises two zippered openings wherein a pillow may be inserted into one of the openings and the pillow cover configurations may be changes while the pillow is inserted in the pillow opening.

Abstract: A cover for rest supports such as pillow cases, seat cushions, headrests, armrests, bedding and pet bedding is disclosed with layered secure spare flaps. A plurality of spare flaps are attached in respective layers to the cover at an end of each flap and another end is successively folded around the cover and secured thereto to provide additional unused resting surfaces for a person or an animal. The spare flaps therefore provide multiple fresh resting surfaces between launderings. Embodied flaps may also be disposably detached from the cover to preclude launderings altogether. The layered flaps may include use indicia and be to secured to each other and a rest support cover via a fastener on a flap and a complementary fastener disposed respectively on the cover. Disclosed fasteners include thin magnets, hook and loop, grommet and tie, button and hole and ganged hole and post pairs and the like.

The vertebral column traction device comprises a support body having a front surface generally adjacent to a first femur and a second femur for creating a first inclined orientation and a second inclined orientation respectively. A rear surface of the support body is distanced from a first tibia and a second tibia for creating a first cantilever orientation and a second cantilever orientation respectively. A pivot area of the support body is generally adjacent to the first tibia and the second tibia for defining a first fulcrum and a second fulcrum respectively. A first lever and the second lever are defined about the first fulcrum and the second fulcrum respectively for expanding the vertebral column.

Abstract: A dynamic infant head support for preventing, or correcting, the abnormal shape of a head of an infant, and a method of using the support for treating deformational plagiocephaly. The support is an oval-shaped pillow, with a central opening to receive the head of the infant to be treated. Spaced barriers divide the interior of the pillow into a plurality of compartments. A ring-like manifold passes through the pillow and communicates with each compartment. A plurality of valves is operatively associated with the manifold; one valve is located in each compartment. The valves allow fluid, such as pressurized air, in the manifold, to inflate individual compartments. The manifold is pressurized by a pump, at a remote location. A remote controller is connected to the valves by electrical leads for governing the sequence of operation of the valves, and regulating the duration of time that each valve is open.

Abstract: A slipcover applied over a cushion or pillow for outdoor use using a durable textured fabric made of a combination of synthetic blend fibers engineered to stretch without using elastomeric or hyper-stretch yarns, each slip cover defining an envelope having an upper opening within which a cushion is inserted, the slip cover having a first and second closure flap which are applied over the upper opening, sealing the cushion within the envelope, the first and second enclosure pocket applied one over the other, or vice versa, providing the slipcover with two different selected smooth exposed outer surfaces.

Abstract: A bedding system may be installable on a mattress. The bedding system may have a bottom sheet, a top sheet, and a duvet. The bottom sheet may have a peripheral portion with bottom sheet mounting elements that secure the bottom sheet to the mattress, and top sheet fastening elements. The top sheet may have top sheet mounting elements that secure the top sheet to the bottom sheet.

Abstract: A novel pillow cover is provided that can be manufactured so that a finished gusseted pillow produced from four rectangular fabric pieces with only six straight line seams.

Abstract: A pillow with improved air flow is provided. The pillow includes a including an upper face, a lower face, four peripheral sides, a first gusset section and a first vent. The first gusset section extends along at least a portion of one of the peripheral sides. Also, at least a portion of the first vent configured as part of the upper face. In another aspect of the present invention, the first vent is configured to be a part of the upper face, one of the peripheral sides adjacent the first gusset and the lower face.

Abstract: A recliner and travel pillow includes a main body having a flat central portion, a first pocket and a second pocket disposed along either side of the central portion, and a pair of pillow inserts having a size and dimension that is complementary to the first and second pockets. An adjustment unit is disposed along the flat central portion for adjusting a distance between the first and second pockets and a plurality of connectors are disposed within the first and second pockets, functioning to adjust a dimension of the pockets, and to secure the pockets in a closed position.

Abstract: A substantially smooth, seamless managed friction material surface and apparatus for placement on a support surface between the support surface and a living being for preventing abrasion or decubitus ulcers in a living being. The managed friction material surface comprises a plurality of plies having a smooth side and a first, high friction zone and second, low friction zone. At least one adhesive ply is interposed partially between adjacent plies; and the plies are selectively bonded to form adjacent frictional zones of high and low friction. Unbonded plies are allowed to move substantially freely with respect to one another thus providing a lower friction zone. The apparatus comprises the managed friction material surface such that the bonded zone is configured for positioning remote the bony prominence and the unbonded zone for positioning proximate the bony prominence, seamlessly occupying different areas on the same side of the material surface.

Abstract: A support for use with a pillow on a mattress and a method for use thereof are disclosed. The support includes a sham extending longitudinally along an axis. The sham has a sleeve having two or three substantially closed sides and one or two substantially open sides. The sham has extensions extending longitudinally from the sleeve. The extensions are constructed to extend around sides and at least a portion of the bottom of a mattress. The sleeve is constructed to receive a pillow therein. The method includes providing such a sham and extending the extensions around the sides and under a portion of the mattress.

Abstract: A support for use with a pillow on a mattress and a method for use thereof are disclosed. The support includes a sham extending longitudinally along an axis. The sham has a pocket having three substantially closed sides and one substantially open side. The sham has extensions extending longitudinally from the pocket. The extensions are constructed to extend around sides and at least a portion of the bottom of a mattress. The pocket is constructed to receive a pillow therein. The method includes providing such a sham and extending the extensions around the sides and under a portion of the mattress.

Abstract: A pillow and a pillow cover are provided. The pillow and pillow cover include a cover layer defining an interior volume, the cover layer having a first side facing outward substantially in a first direction, a second side facing outward substantially in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, and a perimeter formed at a boundary of the first side and the second side. The cover layer includes a body portion, a first mesh portion and a second mesh portion formed separately and spaced apart from the first mesh portion. The pillow includes a filler material disposed in the interior volume. The interior volume is in fluid communication with the external atmosphere via the first and second mesh portions.

Abstract: An enhanced pet bed comprises an outer cover having an inner volume, and at least one stuff sack that is preferably porous, for placement within the inner volume of the outer cover. While the inner stuff sack may be filled with a wide variety of stuffing items, the stuff sack is preferably filled with a plurality of items supplied by the owner, and may preferably inherently include a scent that is desirable or comforting to the intended animal, e.g. the scent of a known person or animal. For embodiments having permeable stuff sacks, the entire stuff sack assembly may preferably be laundered, e.g. washed and dried, as a unit, i.e. with the stuffing retained. Since the enhanced pet beds are typically provided without stuffing, the intended waste footprint of the purchased product is significantly less than that of a conventional bed.

Abstract: A pillow is provided herein which includes a cover having opposing first and second panels. A gusset perimetrically bounds, and joins, the first and second panels. The gusset is formed of an open cell construction. Compliant fill material is disposed within the cover. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a pillow is provided allowing for lateral ventilation between opposing panels. This permits a cooling effect while a user is resting or sleeping.

Abstract: A pillowcase with storage includes a pillow portion and a storage portion extending from an opening of the pillow portion. The pillow portion includes a top panel and a bottom panel coupled together to form a pillow pocket, having an opening to receive a pillow. The storage portion defines at least one storage compartment and internally attaches to the pillow portion, within its opening. The storage portion can optionally include a closure to retain its contents. The storage portion can be configured to hold electronic devices, books, medications, reading glasses, phones, and so forth, in a manner that does not interfere with the use of a pillow inside the pillow portion.
