The mattress may further comprise a cover comprising a cover top, a cover bottom, and a zipper, where the zipper may separate the cover top from the cover bottom, where a band may be disposed on an inside surface of the cover top, where the band may mask a gap between the first layer and the second layer.

Abstract: A bed bug protective encasement for encasing an item includes: a fabric cover surrounding the item, an opening formed in the fabric cover to receive the item in the fabric cover; and a slide fastening mechanism disposed in the opening to open and close the opening. End stops of zipper tracks of the slide fastening mechanism extend beyond a bottom stop such that when a zipper head of slide fastening mechanism is at an end location in which the encasement is in a closed state, the zipper head has passed over and above the bottom stop from which the zipper head originated in a start location to define an overlapping region of the slide fastening mechanism. In the closed state, the overlapped slide fastening mechanism and attached upper and lower barrier wings together form a bed bug impervious obstruction to the escape of bed bugs from the item.

Abstract: An air mattress assembly includes an air mattress and a cover system. The cover system is made of a fabric material. The air mattress, if fully inflated without the cover system in place, would be too large for the cover to fit over the fully inflated air mattress. With the cover system in place around the air mattress, the cover system will be under tension when the air mattress is inflated to operational pressures. In some embodiments the cover is bonded to the air mattress.

Abstract: An expandable fitted bed sheet for fitting with mattresses of different sizes. In example embodiments, the expandable fitted bed sheet is reconfigurable between an unzipped or enlarged configuration for fitting with a first mattress comprising a first mattress size and a zipped or reduced configuration for fitting with a second mattress comprising a second mattress size. Abstract: A fabric made by the method of providing a non-woven batt having flame retardant fibers, stitch bonding the non-woven batt with an elastic yarn, and heat setting the stitch bonded, non-woven batt. The stitch bonded non-woven batt is exposed to a temperature in a range of 160° C. to 200° C. for a period in a range of 30 seconds to 120 seconds. In an embodiment, the fabric is adapted for use as a mattress core cover.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for facilitating rotation of a mattress in a horizontal plane carried by a box spring or a platform. Surfaces between the mattress and the box spring or platform are selectively placed in engagement with each other. The surfaces may be provided by two separate covers; a single cover and the inherent surface roughness of the box spring or fixed or adjustable platform; a single cover with an embedded surface or no covers with embedded surfaces in both the mattress and the box spring or platform. In the latter embodiment, the mattress and the box spring or platform are secured together in a normal mode of operation to prevent unintended movement of the mattress.

Abstract: A mattress protector completely encloses a mattress to preclude bed bugs from escaping. All of the interior surfaces of the protector are coated or laminated with a film laminate that is resistant to bed bug bites. A zipper extends partially around the circumference of the mattress protector so that when the zipper is opened an opening is provided allowing a mattress to be slid into the protector. The zipper is located next to the intersection between side walls and the bottom wall. A closure flap extends perpendicularly to the direction of extension of the zipper. The outer surface of the top wall is provided with a coating that renders the top surface waterproof while also providing anti-microbial properties and unique temperature regulation.

Abstract: The present invention is a bug repellent cover. The cover comprises a zipper opening provided at the end of the cover and a flap provided at the end of the zipper opening. The flap is provided with Velcro on its edges that help the flap to open and close easily. The zipper opening begins at the outside edge of the cover that can be zipped to prevent the intrusion of bugs. The flap can be closed inwards to provide an outer cover to the end of the zipper opening. The zipper opening overlapped by the flap helps to prevent the intrusion of bugs into the cover. After closing the zipper, the fabric can be folded over. The zipper is non-allergenic. The fabric material is made of the laminated poly cotton. The present invention can be used for pillow cover, baby cripes cover and box spring mattress of all sizes.

Abstract: An active mattress may include a top panel, a bottom panel and multiple side panels. One or more of the side panels are zippered together, The un-zippered side panels fixedly connect the top and bottom portions of the side panels. In another embodiment, an inflatable volume is integrated into the bottom panel. Alternatively, the inflatable volume may be integrated with a separate detachable cover and attached to the bottom panel by conventional means. The various configurations of the encasement allows a mattress to be easily rotated, installed, or removed. Optional straps may be provided, fixedly attached to the encasement, to allow the encasement to be snugged against the mattress. This enables the encasement to be used with a relatively wide range of mattress sizes and still provide a snug fit.

The encasement is formed to encapsulate a mattress and includes a top panel, a bottom panel and multiple side panels. One or more of the side panels are zippered together. The unzippered side panels, i.e., the panels without zippers, fixedly connect the top panel to the bottom panel. The top and bottom panels as well as the side panels may be made from conventional materials. The underside of the top panel and optionally the inside of the side panels may be coated with a waterproof coating, such as thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU/PU), silicone, or urethane to form a waterproof membrane. In accordance with an important aspect of the invention, the bottom panel is formed with a slick interior surface and a non-slick exterior surface.

Abstract: A system and method for a reversible sheet. The fitted sheet has a top layer with an inner side and an outer side and a bottom layer with an inner side and an outer side. The top layer is coupled to the bottom layer by a sealed top edge, a sealed base edge, and a sealed bottom edge. The sealed base edge is perpendicular to the top edge and the bottom edge. The top layer and bottom layer each have a flap portion which has an open flap and an open end edge. A mattress is inserted into the open end edge. The front end of the mattress is secured into the open flap of either the top or bottom layer. This secures the fitted sheet around the mattress. A child cannot pull the fitted sheet away from the mattress because the fitted sheet surrounds the mattress.

After the first panel of the second sheet is aligned and pressed together with the top surface of the first sheet, a second confluent panel of the second sheet sized to be the same length as the first panel, and with left and right side mattress overlay extensions, is brought up and over the first panel. The first sheet remains in place. The “T” shaped sheet is removed for washing and subsequent reinstallation. Sheet changing of bunk beds and beds with limited access to one or more sides is simplified especially for the elderly and/or disabled.

The fitted bed sheet has a first section constructed primarily of non-stretch material and a second section sewn to the foot of the first section that is constructed primarily of non-elastic stretch material. The second section stretches to accommodate mattresses of longer lengths thereby eliminating the need to maintain multiple fitted bed sheets. The present invention increases user comfort, can be processed in commercial laundries, reduces the labor of making the bed, is easier to fold, and has a longer useful life than fitted sheets constructed with elastic stretch material. The fitted bed sheet can be washed, ironed, and folded automatically. The present invention may be used in institutional or private settings.
