Abstract: A patient care equipment support includes an equipment supporting portion configured to support patient care equipment, and at least one arm pivotally coupled to the equipment supporting portion, and configured to support at least one IV container. The equipment support may include at least roller bumper rotatably coupled to the equipment supporting portion. The equipment supporting portion may include an upper horizontal member, a lower horizontal member and a pair of horizontally spaced vertical posts extending between the upper and lower members. Illustratively, the arm is pivotally coupled to one of the posts. The upper and lower horizontal members may define a space therebetween for receiving infusion management equipment.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a flexible accessory panel with apertures from which items may be suspended. In particular, receptacles for fluids draining from a patient may be suspended from the apertures, which are retained at a level below that of the patient, maintaining a gravitational flow. Maintaining downward flow of the draining fluids limits the backflow of draining fluid to the patient and reduces the risk of infection.

Abstract: A device for stabilizing the position of an infant while sleeping features a shell assembly including a base panel having two longitudinal sides and two lateral sides, an end wall extending generally upwardly from one of the lateral sides, two side walls extending generally upwardly from the longitudinal sides, a shell cover comprising an outer surface and conforming generally to the shell assembly, and a removable positioner insert disposed atop the base panel and comprising left and right nacelles attached to an insert base and separated by a distance selected to accommodate the width of an infant placed between the nacelles, to inhibit lateral motion of the infant while sleeping.

Abstract: A kit for a portable assembly bed includes an operable carry bag having retaining elements disposed on the inside of the bag with bed construction removably retained by the retaining elements. The kits provide co-operable construction components including reinforced discs and tubular frame members for an assembled double-decker bed or two single beds, and at lease one foldable foot locker and an accessories pouch. The portable construction when assembled provides a complete double-decker cot with storage.

Abstract: An occupant support apparatus 10 includes a frame 12 and an occupant support deck 14 above which an occupant is supportable. A siderail 22 has a raised position in which at least a portion of the siderail is higher in elevation than the patient support deck. The siderail includes a recess 42. The occupant support also includes a control unit 44 having user inputs configured to be engaged by a user. The control unit is movable relative to the siderail between a first position in which at least a majority of the patient control unit is received in the recess and a second position in which at least a majority of the control unit resides outside the recess and extends past a perimeter of the siderail. In one embodiment the control unit also has an upper portion 50, which is pivotable about a generally vertical axis.

Abstract: A modular bracket assembly is provided for use with a field hospital portable bed or a NATO litter. The assembly includes a clamp that can be releasably attached to the pole of a litter. The clamp is formed with a mounting aperture. The assembly also includes a lower support that can be mounted in the mounting aperture of the clamp or in attachment holes of field hospital portable beds or the socket that is formed within each hinge when a collapsible litter. An accessory mount is provided on the lower support and can receive a mounting flange affixed to a medical accessory. An upper support can be mounted on the top end of the lower support and can be used to support medical equipment items and/or IV solutions.

The column is movable between a first position in which at least a majority of the column is situated in the cavity and a second position in which the column is situated outside the cavity. Various types of patient-care equipment is also disclosed. The patient-care equipment is included in, or is coupleable to, one or more of the ceiling unit, the headwall unit, or the column.

The clamp can mount the base to a mayo stand of a multi-purpose gurney. The clamp can also mount the base to a rail of a multi-purpose gurney.

Abstract: A system for facilitating the storage of an accessory part such as a changer station, bassinet or canopy includes a play yard, and an accessory kit that can be detachably or permanently secured on the play yard. The play yard comprises a frame structure having a plurality of side rail assemblies. The accessory kit comprises a foldable accessory part and a storage pocket that can be secured with one upper rim of the play yard. The accessory part can be folded into a compact form that fits in the storage pocket. When the user wishes to use the accessory part, the user can pull out and unfold the accessory part, and then fasten the accessory part on opposite sides of the play yard for adequate support. The ability to stow the accessory part in a compact manner in the play yard facilitates portability of the accessory part and play yard.

Abstract: A bedding accessory for storing shoes in the space fully beneath a bed frame includes a sheet portion, side portions appended to an edge of the sheet portion, and storage compartments formed on the side portions. The sheet portion is placed in substantially covering relation to an upper surface of a mattress support structure. The side portions are arranged to hang downwardly from the sheet portion adjacent the space beneath the bed frame. Each storage compartment is configured to retain a pair of shoes therein and is comprised of an outer panel facing outwardly away from the bed frame and an inner panel facing inwardly toward the space beneath the bed frame. The inner and outer panels of each storage compartment jointly define an opening for receipt of a pair of shoes, and the compartment substantially retains the shoes in the space fully beneath the bed frame.

Abstract: A bed-like apparatus particularly for use at the beach comprising a large rectangular padded section with an integral pillow is herein disclosed. The pillow section can be rolled and secured with fasteners into a large torus-shaped roll allowing a user to lie in a prone position comfortably. The apparatus comprises a water-resistant material affixed to a lower surface and a terrycloth type material along a top surface similar in size to a beach towel, further comprising an integral pocket and a beverage holder. A carrying handle and straps are used for ease of transportation while providing a large water-resistant storage compartment along an external surface for storage of sunscreen, food, books, refreshments, and the like.

Abstract: The present invention is an organizational kit designed to help anesthesiologists when providing anesthesia during major surgery such as heart, thoracic, major vascular, and/or major abdominal. The invention helps the anesthesiologist organize the different intravenous and arterial lines, catheters, monitoring cables, pressure transducers and other devices coming from or going to the patient. It also serves as an educational tool for new anesthesia students, residents, fellows and new graduate anesthesiologists to help them understand how to connect the different ports coming out from the distal end of a Swan-Ganz catheter to their matching cables, monitor lines and transducers. The invention may serve as a reference for the doses and methods of administering common drugs used by the anesthesiologist intraoperatively. The invention also helps the practitioner set up the different modes of a pacemaker machine.

Abstract: The present invention provides removable bed, mattress, and seat wraps with integrated storage compartments. Advantageously, these removable bed, mattress, and seat wraps allow a user to place pockets and other storage compartments of and in a wide variety of configurations where they are desired with respect to a bed, mattress, seat, or the like, and remove these pockets and other storage compartments quickly and easily when desired. For example, the removable bed, mattress, and seat wraps of the present invention may be used in conjunction with the headboard of a bed, a mattress, a box spring, a home seat, a vehicle seat, a boat seat, or virtually any other suitable structure, stationary or mobile.

Embodiments of the furniture attachment system comprise a highly adjustable interface that is readily adapted to hold, store, or secure items of highly varied size and shape at a convenient location proximate a bed or other piece of furniture. In use, the present invention holds, stores, or secures items at beside, or beside other furniture, by securing the items to a bed or other furniture.

Abstract: The sleeper storage apparatus is partially made of a pliable rectangular panel substantially sized to match a length and width dimension of a bunk in a sleeper cab. The first round rigid spine is removably affixed within the panel top, with a plurality of spaced apart upper straps removably affixed to the first rigid spine. The second rigid spine is removably affixed within the panel bottom with a plurality of spaced apart lower straps removably affixed to the second spine. Each of the upper straps is selectively hooked to one of each of the lower straps, each attached upper and lower strap forming a strap pair. Each strap pair is removably wrapped around the bunk. A plurality of pliable pockets is affixed to the panel, including a hamper pocket with lower opening and trap door to ease in emptying.

Abstract: A medical support assembly for a moving pallet of a diagnostic imaging device is provided. The medical support assembly includes a support member having an elongate shaft defining a longitudinal axis and a transverse shaft mounted substantially orthogonal with respect to the support member. The medical support assembly further includes a mounting adapter assembly supported by an attachment bracket of the moving pallet, the mounting adapter assembly being removably mounted and configured to enable rotational movement of the support member upon a substantial impact to the support member.

Abstract: A device is provided for supporting a substantially flat television screen over a piece of furniture of the type having an upper surface with spaced apart front and rear edges, and a back. The device comprises a pedestal and an upper support. The pedestal includes a base for supporting the weight of the screen on a floor surface, a column extending vertically upwardly from the base, and a bracket for connecting the column to the back of the piece of furniture so that the column is held in position against the piece of furniture. The upper support includes a post that is connected to and vertically adjustable with respect to the column, a cantilever support arm extending forwardly from the vertically adjustable post, the support arm terminating in a free end, and a screen mounting member connected to the free end of the support arm for receiving the flat screen television.

A support structure is coupled to a back area of the top surface to elevate the top surface. The support structure elevates the top surface at an angle so a head of a baby is elevated above feet of the baby. A diaper dispensing container is coupled to the opening for holding a plurality of diapers. Fasteners are coupled to the top surface around the opening to hold down a top diaper being dispensed from the diaper dispensing container.

Abstract: A handheld holder is mountable on a support structure such as a bed headboard or seat back of a wheel chair and holds a body of a medical alarming device having an alarming switch and a cord extending outwardly from the switch. Typically, a downwardly opening support-receiving space receives the support structure to support the holder thereon and an upwardly opening medical alarming device-receiving space receives and supports the body of the alarming device. The holder may include a flexible outer skin or sleeve preferably formed of a non-scratching material such as a textile. One or more elastic straps are typically used to secure the body of the alarming device, and preferably are configured to alternately secure bodies of different sizes. A substantially rigid frame of the holder may have an S-shaped configuration, may be formed as an integral one-piece member and may have a flat plate construction.

Abstract: A thermotherapy device is operated as an incubator or as an open care unit. The care unit has a bed for receiving newborns, which can be closed with a hood (3). At least one heat radiation source (4) is provided. The hood (3) is located between the bed and the heat radiation source (4) when the thermotherapy device is closed and the hood is at least partially transparent to the radiation originating from the heat radiation source (4). The device allows only a small temperature drop during the transfer from the open mode of operation into the closed mode of operation and vice versa.

Abstract: A sleep system, for providing a bed, includes a frame with cross support members coupled with a first and second panel assembly. A sleep support mechanism operationally engages the first and second panel assemblies with one another and further engages a pad to provide adjusting support to the user. The sleep support mechanism employs a cone coupled with a first and second spring, the first and second spring further coupling with the first and second panel assemblies, and the cone engaging with the pad to provide the adjustable support capability.

Abstract: A winch for moving a patient laying on a pad is disclosed. The winch includes an enclosure that has a winching mechanism fixed within the enclosure, a power means, a motor, a gearing means, a power switching means, and a spool means. Preferably the winch further includes a bedrail hook attached to the front wall, the hook comprising at least one rigid U-shaped member. As such, the enclosure may be fixed to a bedrail of a bed to move the patient laying on the pad on the bed. A winching strap is connected at one end thereof to the spool means. The winching strap traverses an aperture in the at least one side wall of the enclosure, and a distal end of the winching strap terminates in a pad clamping means. The pad clamping means is preferably a clamping bar having at least two clamps, such that when the winching mechanism pulls the clamps towards the enclosure the clamps are further tightened upon the pad.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a resting area for an infant or a pet is disclosed. The resting area includes a support structure and a holding structure for holding the resting area over, or at least partially above an adult sleeping area. This enables the resting area to be easily accessible to an adult located in the adult sleeping area. The resting area is optionally movable in various manners, such as vertically, horizontally, rotatably, and swingably. The apparatus may include a horizontal arm extending from a support frame. A sleep divider is optionally provided in order to enable one adult to attend to an infant or pet while decreasing the disturbance to another adult on the opposite side of the divider. Various additional optional features may include providing heating means to a portion of the rest area, a convenient supply tray, lighting means, and various holding structure configurations for convenience and comfort.

Abstract: A furniture member adapted to act as a versatile headboard is disclosed. The furniture member has a substantially vertical back member, two side members, a substantially vertical, lower front member and an angled front member collectively defining an interior space with the angled front member extending upward at a slope between the front lower member and a top edge of the vertical back member. The furniture member is placed against a mattress and box spring arrangement allowing people on the mattress to sit up by leaning against the angled front member. Adjustment of the angled front member is also disclosed. Use of the furniture member permits people to comfortably read, eat, use a laptop and conduct various other activities while in seated in bed. The furniture member also provides storage space.

Abstract: An equipment support includes an equipment supporting portion to support patient care equipment, a downwardly extending coupler coupled to the equipment supporting portion, an upper lock and a lower lock. The coupler has upper and lower portions configured for receipt in upper and lower sockets, respectively. The upper lock moves to a locking position to lock the upper portion to the upper socket as the lower lock moves to an unlocking position to unlock the lower portion from the lower socket. The upper lock moves to an unlocking position to unlock the upper portion from the upper socket as the lower lock moves to a locking position to lock the lower portion to the lower socket.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a mounting bracket configured to be secured to an underside of a litter. A storage basket is configured to engage ends and sides of a bottle. A movable mechanism couples the storage basket to the mounting bracket, the mechanism being configured for allowing the storage basket to be lowered away from the litter to provide access to the bottle, and allowing the storage basket to be secured against the underside of the litter to restrict movement of the bottle. A latch system is also included to hold the storage basket secured to the underside of the litter. The storage basket is automatically leveled by the movable mechanism when it is lowered away from the litter.

Abstract: A holder for a hand-held urinal that is for releasable mounting from a bed rail or the like. The holder includes a mounting bracket having at least one plate member that is supported from the bed rail; and a holder for receiving the hand-held urinal. The holder is removably supportable from the plate member and includes a headed stud constructed and arranged facing the plate member and for engagement with an arcuate slot in the plate member to permit pivotal support of the holder from the mounting bracket while providing limited sliding motion between the headed stud and slot so as to enable the holder to stay substantially vertical even as the mounting bracket tilts.

Abstract: A transferring and holding device and method for holding infants having lifelines, such as IV tubes, monitor wire leads, and ventilator tubes, connected thereto. In one embodiment, the device includes a support surface adapted to hold an infant; a boundary attached to and bolstering the support surface; and at least one securing mechanism adapted to secure the lifelines and to impede the lifelines from being disconnected from the infant. The support surface preferably has openings to enable skin-to-skin contact between the infant and a person holding the infant, and at least a portion of the support surface can be a nonabsorbent, open-weave webbed material. The boundary may include a foam member, and/or a flexible plastic or metal member to provide structural support. The boundary may be removable for separate washing of or replacement of the support surface, and the support surface may include sleeves for insertion of at least a portion of the boundary to facilitate removable attachment thereof.

A segment of an elongated rail member is spaced apart from the mattress a sufficient distance to enable an accessory support mounted on the segment to be moved free from interference from the mattress. A cable support is aligned with the segment adapted to support a portion of cabling of an accessory mounted on the support, the cable support capable of receiving and retaining cabling from the accessory irrespective of the position of the accessory support on the segment.
