Abstract: A system deployable in post-mortem rooms and other facilities for facilitating medical examinations, including autopsies. A system as described includes a corpse-receiving station and an organ dissecting station, each being in some embodiments substantially rectangularly shaped and having a longest length dimension. The corpse-receiving station and organ dissecting station are in some embodiments arranged so their longest length dimensions are oriented substantially perpendicularly, having a formation resembling an L-shape when viewed from an overhead perspective. A system of the instant technology eliminates the necessity for pathologists and technicians of having to lift a subject or corpse, by virtue of the corpse-receiving station being configured and equipped to be selectively height-adjustable, which also eliminates the need for step-stools and the like.

Abstract: A bed assembly includes a bed having a head end, a foot end and a frame which is connected between the head end and the foot end. A water-proof pad is located between the head end and the foot end. The water-proof pad can be tightened, loosened and movable up and down. A bed board unit is pivotably connected to two sides of the frame so that the bed board unit is opened and closed when needed. An inflatable tub or bedpan is located beneath the bed so that when the bed board unit is opened, the patient can use the inflatable tub or the bedpan and does not have to be removed from the bed.

Abstract: A surgical drain tray assembly includes a fluid impermeable first layer and a porous second layer positioned on the fluid impermeable first layer. The fluid impermeable first layer includes a drain outlet, a basin, and a sloping surface angled toward the basin, the drain outlet being positioned within the basin. The porous second layer may be formed of a foam material and includes a top work surface. Fluids spilled onto the work surface pass through the porous second layer to the fluid impermeable first layer. The sloping surface of the fluid impermeable first layer conveys the fluids toward the basin for draining through the drainage outlet.

Abstract: A lightweight modular bed includes a bed frame unit, a first retaining unit, a second retaining unit, a supporting web unit, a vibration motor, and a cover patch. The first and second retaining units are coupled to two lateral portions of the supporting web unit to permit a web body of the supporting web unit to be fully stretched. A peripheral margin of the cover patch is secured to a boundary of a predetermined mounting region of the web body to permit a motor body of the vibration motor to be disposed therebetween. When the web body is fully stretched, top and bottom surfaces of the motor body are brought into abutting engagement with the cover patch and the predetermined mounting region, respectively.

Abstract: A bed with an integral toilet includes a frame, a mattress and a support for supporting the mattress on the bed frame. The mattress and support define an opening extending through the mattress and support. A robotic system removes and replaces a cushion for filling the opening and for replacing the toilet in alignment with the opening. An integral bidet, a source of clean water, a nozzle, a variable speed pump and mechanism for connecting a source of water to the bidet are included. A second opening in a lower portion of the toilet is connected to a waste storage tank. An odor eliminator is provided and a remote control allows a patient to control the unit.

Abstract: One embodiment of a topper assembly for a mattress comprises a liquid permeable cover layer, a liquid transport layer beneath the cover layer that directs liquid transport therethrough in a preferred direction, a liquid impermeable base layer beneath the transport layer, an air mover in fluid communication with the transport layer and a reservoir positioned downstream of the liquid transport layer. Operation of the air mover moves air and liquid through the liquid transport layer in the preferred direction such that the reservoir captures liquid discharged from the liquid transport layer. A related support apparatus comprises a mattress and a condition management assembly atop the mattress. The condition management assembly includes the liquid transport layer, the liquid impermeable base layer, the air mover and the reservoir.

Abstract: A convertible patient bed is disclosed that includes: a middle section, a top section, and a bottom section, each section further includes a first lateral subsection and a second lateral subsection; a push-pull motor coupled to push the top section and to pull the bottom section to transform the patient bed into a chair, a sliding motor coupled to slide the said first lateral subsection and said second lateral subsection in and out of each of the middle section, top section, and bottom section respectively at a predetermined angle to change the width of the patient bed; and a motor coupled to an opening and a cover in the middle of the middle section to accommodate to the needs of a patient.

Abstract: Provided is a caregiving bed having a variety of usage aspects. A caregiving bed includes a bed main body, and one support platform and another support platform. The bed main body includes a rectangular pad part. Each of the support platforms is provided with an elevator device connected to the pad part to raise and lower the bed main body. Each of the support platforms is provided with a pair of support columns extending upward. A beam member is provided between the support columns of the one support platform and between the support columns of the other support platform. The distance between the pad part and the attachment part decreases when the bed main body is raised by the elevator devices, whereas the distance between the pad part and the attachment part increases when the bed main body is lowered.

Abstract: A urology drainage bag system has disposable clamps and/or bands that are disposed of along with the disposable urology drape. The drape, clamps, and band may comprise an integrated system for disposal as a unit. In some embodiments, the drape, clamps, and band are assembled together at the time of manufacture and sold as an integrated unit such that assembly of the drape onto the band by the end users at the point of use is not needed. Several plastic molded clamp embodiments are disclosed. Alternative methods and devices for supporting a flexible band and drainage bag relative to an OR table are also disclosed.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus, in particular for a medical imaging apparatus, has a table for supporting a patient, and a support unit, wherein the table is arranged at the support unit such that the table may be displaced along a longitudinal extension of the support unit. The support surface includes separate pivotally attached segments adapted to support various parts of a patient's body. Segmented lower portions support the patient's feet and lower legs. An upper segment supports the patient's back, neck and head. A central segment is adapted to support patient's buttocks. All portions can be pivoted through a range of positions. The central segment is provided with movable panels, which can be arranged to form an opening in the bed. A toilet is fixed beneath the bed in alignment with the formed opening. The entire support surface can be vertically adjusted.

The sleeping surface having a plurality of channels formed therein terminating at a plurality of drains extending through the bed to direct loose liquid on the sleeping surface through a drain. The bed further comprising a means for attaching the bed to a floor and a tamper resistance glide assembly inserted in a foot on the bed, the glide comprising a floor engaging pad having a support shaft extending there from, a traveler on the support shaft. The traveler fixed in a glide pocket in the foot. The pad traversing axially in the glide pocket to orient the sleeping surface.

The table may also be angled via a pair of foot-actuated controls. A footrest at the table's base supports the deceased person along with a plurality of body securing straps. The table also comprises a separate platform for allowing the stylist to store products within and a neck support to further support the deceased body configuration resulting in optimum hairstyling.

The support legs have an upper end and a lower end, and are adapted to support the frame above a selected substrate. A support deck is coupled to the frame. Abstract: Disclosed is a portable bed-bath and shower device. The device provides an oblong, inflatable bath tub unit 12 used to assist in the bathing of bed ridden patients. The bath tub or housing 12 of the device is a rubber material consisting of an electric air compressor 20, water valve 22, dirty water discharge pump 24 and hose 26, shower head 28, hook and loop straps 18, a swivel head hanger 46, storage pockets 30 for soap and wash cloths and tote cart 70. A patient can be easily placed upon the bath unit prior to the inflation thereof. The bath unit is then inflated by the electric compressor 20 and a hose 44 is connected to the water valve of the unit and at the other distal end, to a sink. Hook and loop fasteners 18 are supplied to secure the patient 14 within the bath device and to lift the limbs of a patient for easy cleaning of the limbs. A water valve 22 is also provided consisting of a control valve 38 and separate drain valve 40.

When discharge from a patient falls on the surface of the containing cushion, a sensor senses this and a water pump is activated, so that water can be spurted through both the water-spurting head to flush the discharge on the surface of the containing cushion, and the other water-spurting head installed on top of the containing cushion cleanses the excretory organs of the patient. The inventive device provides the patients in the persistent vegetative state with the convenience of urinating and defecating in bed, and with the functions of keeping the excretory organs of the patient clean and not prone to bacteria growth or infection, and sanitizes the bed cushion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cushion bed with a flushing device, comprising a containing cushion that, adhered to the upper part of the air cushion, is shaped as a tilted groove and removable, and a sensor. When excrement of a patient falls on the surface of the containing cushion, a sensor then senses and a water pump is activated, so that water can be spurted through both the water-spurting head to flush excrement on the surface of the containing cushion, and the other water-spurting head installed on top of the containing cushion to cleanse the excretory organs of the patient. The present invention provides the disabled and patients in the persistent vegetative state with the convenience of urinating and defecating in bed, and with the functions of keeping the excretory organs of the patient clean and not prone to bacteria-growing or infection, and a constant sanitary condition of the cushion.

Abstract: An improvement to gurneys for cleaning patients confined to bed which generally is comprised of a structure with legs having caster wheels, which includes, generally, a framework for affixing a table to support the patient with a washing basin comprised of a piece of flexible and collapsible laminar material, attached to the frame, which follows the perimeter of the support table and is connected to form walls that delimit a space for washing. The improvement is comprised of a frame that includes elongations at the ends of its longitudinal sides, which project vertically above the table with rows of notches to affix and hold the upper edge of the laminar piece and to delimit the washing space. These elongations may be comprised of extensions of the ends of the longitudinal sides of the frame in a U shape, formed with vertical inclined sections joined below the frame, of which one, the furthest from the frame, projects above the table to incorporate the row of affixing notches for the laminar material piece.

Also provided is a fluid dispersing means which, in one embodiment, is a spray bar having a plurality of openings to allow fluid such as water to flow onto the tub bottom. A fluid sheeting element is also provided to form a uniform sheet of fluid from the fluid. The tub is fitted with a grate that will support an animal and allow fluids to flow freely from the animal to the tub interior space and bottom wall. The uniform sheet of fluid from the fluid dispersing means continuously washes fluids from the animal away and into a drain. The water flow can be adjusted by a valve controlled by the veterinarian practitioner.

Abstract: A moveable pedicure table for combination with a reclining facial bed as provided having a table frame with side portions and a central open portion. Legs extend downward from the frame and rollers are attached to the legs for movement along a horizontal ground or floor surface. Projections extend inward into the central open area from the sides of the table frame. The projections are constructed for supporting a pedicure basin at a predetermined height. A connector mechanism is attached to the table frame for detachable engagement with a facial bed.
