Patent number: 5457925Abstract: An improved ceiling system to be assembled under an existing ceiling. The ceiling system is constructed of materials so as to simulate naturally occurring materials. The support members simulate such items as logs, wooden beams, and the like. Panels between the support member also simulate naturally occurring items like latillas and saguaro ribs. In the preferred embodiment, the support beams are constructed through a casting method and are composed of foam which is then painted to simulate the desired naturally occurring material. In the preferred embodiment of the panels, they are constructed of the same materials so that the resulting assemblage is not only extremely light and easy to install and transport, but, is also less expensive than naturally occurring materials which are becoming scarce.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1994Date of Patent: October 17, 1995Assignee: The Larson CompanyInventor: James A. Patent number: 5429340Abstract: The present invention relates to a modular security fence and, more particularly, to a plurality of interconnectable fence panels, each fabricated of weather proof recyclable materials. The fence panels can be produced in a variety of colors and sizes ranging from decorative landscaping fences to privacy fences. No staining or painting is required. These fence panels are formed to interconnect with one another and are secured together, preferably, through the use of threaded fasteners. Each successive panel conceals the unsightly fasteners which secure the preceding interconnected panel. The fence panels require virtually no maintenance. A number of panels can be interconnected prior to distribution, thus providing preassembled sections of fence. Optional panels may be formed to include utility boxes to accommodate electrical devices such as light fixtures, receptacles, and security devices. A fence of this type is durable, demanding little repair, and is not likely to fall prey to vandalism.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1992Date of Patent: July 4, 1995Inventors: Anthony M. Patent number: 5366190Abstract: A four-sided hollow post provides a mount for four repeater housings of the type used by the cable industry and protectively houses the cable so that cable guards are not needed. The post has a removable back panel so that backfill material is positioned within the hollow interior of the post during the backfill procedure; this stabilizes the post so that it remains upright. The base of the post is also flared outwardly to accomplish the same objective. A unistrut bracket is positioned in each of the four side walls to enable facile mounting of brackets that support the repeater housings, and a knock out panel is formed in each side wall so that the cable stubs depending from a repeater housing may extend into the interior of the post through a cable exit port that is created when the knock out panel is removed.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1993Date of Patent: November 22, 1994Inventors: Charles C. Patent number: 4835914Abstract: A false ceiling comprises a stretched sheet made of a relatively elastic material which is hooked, along its edges, to a horizontal support frame constituted by abutting sections, fixed to the walls of a room. Above the sheet, i.e. in the space between this sheet and the ceiling of the room, means exert on the sheet at at least one point thereof, an adjustable effort provoking a deformation of the sheet. These means comprise a cable passing over a pulley fixed to the ceiling of the room, of which the vertical side acts, at its lower end, on the sheet, in order to exert thereon the adjustable vertical effort, and of which the other inclined or manoeuvring side is hooked on the wall, above the support frame, on this support frame itself or on the ceiling.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1988Date of Patent: June 6, 1989Inventor: Fernand Scherrer

Patent number: 4765102Abstract: A structural aluminum extrusion which supports glass, plastic or other building panels and is also specially formed to house a lighting system. The panels are clamped edge to edge on one edge portion of the extrusion and a channel is formed in the opposite edge portion. The channel houses an elongate glass tube filled with neon. A special clip inserted in the channel holds the tube and the high voltage wire which supplies power to the tube. A snap on diffuser lens covers the channel and encloses the components of the lighting system.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 1987Date of Patent: August 23, 1988Inventor: Christopher L. Kuchem

Patent number: 4761716Abstract: Lighting by the sunlight is available in every space in a building, even those spaces which have been hardly utilized such as the basement and ground water pit. The sunlight is collected and guided by optical cables to light radiators which are located in intended spaces of a building. The basement has a cistern for water therein to afford a shelter in the case of emergency, while the ground water pit which is also lighted by the conducted sunshine is usable to cultivate fish, plants, and other foodstuffs. The building is annular except for its first floor so that a cylindrical open space is defined thereinside and also lighted by the sunlight, thereby introducing the sunlight even into the radially innermost spaces of the sunlight.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1987Date of Patent: August 2, 1988Inventor: Kei Mori
