Patent number: 4580381Abstract: Angular sections form frames which can be fitted together in the frame plane in modular fashion. Legs of the sections are formed so that through two interconnected legs of adjacent frames notches of T-shaped cross-section result, into which hammer head-shaped ends of pull rods can be introduced. By means of the pull rods, ledges can be pressed against filter and/or light fixture housings, which in this manner are pressed against legs of the profiles on the opposite housing side, adjacent frames thus make it possible in a correspondingly compact model to attach filters and light fixtures without the distance between two adjacent filters or between a filter and a light fixture occupying a width that would impair the flow profile of the air issuing from the filters.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1984Date of Patent: April 8, 1986Assignee: H. Patent number: 4060025Abstract: An air distribution ceiling for clean rooms is disclosed which includes a first or primary plenum chamber at the top of a room with a clean air supply communicating with it, the top of this chamber being bounded by the room ceiling and the bottom being bounded by a plurality of vertically spaced horizontal interlocked upper panels, a second plenum chamber bounded at the top by the upper panels and at the bottom by lower horizontal interlocked panels and forming the ceiling of the room. The panels are carried on spaced parallel supporting bars suspended from the top wall of the room and extending therealong, the supporting bars being held in spaced relation by spacer bars extending therebetween and having ledges to carry the upper and lower plates and to permit the insertion and removal of the lower panels from below. The panels each has a plurality of nozzle holes therethrough for downward air delivery and to provide for uniform air displacement within the room.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1976Date of Patent: November 29, 1977Inventor: Michael H. Patent number: 4047336Abstract: A lighting system is provided having a unique main runner structural configuration that enhances the adaptability of the system to a number of uses, including one-way, corridor and grid ceiling patterns. The main runner has an inverted U-shape design in cross section, the legs of the U-shape defining an open mouth channel. The legs also have a lip associated with them. The lower leg and lip portions or formation of the inverted shape hides the division line between various color combinations used in conjunction with the main runner from observers of the ceiling system, and also creates a recess for holding and supporting a number of accessories associated with the ceiling system. The lip of the main runner provides support for any associated ceiling panels. One embodiment of a lighting fixture compatible with the lighting system disclosed hereinafter has offset end pieces which permit continuous linear luminaire pattern installation.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1975Date of Patent: September 13, 1977Assignee: Emerson Electric Co.Inventors: Leo G. Patent number: 4015811Abstract: Suspended ceiling systems are formed from a series of modules which may have a vaulted design and a light fixture therein. These modules must be supported from the main runners or cross tees of a suspended ceiling system. The support structure herein is fastened at one end to the main runners or cross tees of the suspended ceiling system and carry on their other end the main horizontal support members for the light fixture and vaulted module. Means positively lock the support structure to the main runner or cross tee of the suspended ceiling system.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1975Date of Patent: April 5, 1977Assignee: Armstrong Cork CompanyInventors: Ernest B. Patent number: 4004390Abstract: A light weight locking structure for a suspended ceiling construction of T-shaped strip grid profile bars supportively engaged by nodal plates having radiating arms in which the arms terminate in upwardly bent locking projections, and the profile bars are provided with slots in the cross-bar of the T for cooperatively receiving the locking projections of the associated arm. After engagement of the locking projections in the slots of the respective profile bar, the projections are bent over to rigidly lock the profile bars to the nodal plate.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1974Date of Patent: January 25, 1977Assignee: Odenwald Faserplattenwerk G.m.b.H.Inventor: Gunther Merkwitz

Patent number: 4001985Abstract: A suspended ceiling is provided having a main grid assembly defining the lower plane of the suspended ceiling and having trusses connected to the grid assembly. A support frame is positioned above the lower main grid assembly defines the upper ceiling plane. Outrigger arms pivotally attached to the ceiling support frame are used to suspend the support frame from the trusses on the main grid assembly and to position the support frame relative to the main grid assembly. A ceiling board is mounted within the support frame and a plurality of ceiling boards are carried by the combination of the main grid assembly and the support frame.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1975Date of Patent: January 11, 1977Assignee: Armstrong Cork CompanyInventors: Harold W.
