Abstract: A multi-media workstation having a master rail system for permitting horizontal adjustment of the various components of the workstation. The workstation generally includes a console having a work surface and a master rail system for supporting various audiovisual equipment. The master rail system includes a rail extrusion connecting at least two frames and having a longitudinal slot formed in at least one of its surfaces. The various components of the workstation each include a finger engaged in the longitudinal slot of the rail extrusion, wherein the component is able to be horizontally translated along a length of the rail extrusion.

Abstract: A modular emergency shelter system includes a sleeping and storage module having a rectangular box-like structure with curved interior sidewalls defining a sleeping area, and exterior sidewalls extending to an opposing end defining a separate storage area. The box-like structure is preferably fabricated of molded plastic filled with fire resistant and sound dampening foam, and is watertight to keep out the rain and facilitate hosing out after use. Preferably the module includes electronic locking doors operable from inside or outside the module. The module is specially configured for securing together a number of similar structures including additional shelter modules stacked one atop another, or vertically-oriented modular utility units such as toilets, showers and a dressing rooms.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a videoconferencing carrel having a one-piece, rotationally molded shell defining an area for containing electronic videoconferencing equipment, having mounting flanges for a transparent screen to protect the electronic components, exit openings to allow wiring for handset attachment and connection to power and networking lines for use as a videoconferencing carrel. A method for manufacturing a one-piece rotationally molded videoconferencing carrel is also provided generally including the steps of providing a mold with a cavity, introducing a polymeric material into the mold cavity, molding the polymeric material into the shape of the videoconferencing carrel, removing the carrel from the mold and placing the molded carrel in a cooling fixture to produce a molded article of manufacture constituting the invention.

Abstract: A roof support with an integral gutter including a roof support, a panel joint cover, and a gutter for a small storage or utility building or shed having a shallow-pitched roof. In particular, the roof support with integral gutter includes a support web, an exposure surface perpendicularly bisecting the support web, and a collector perpendicularly bisecting the support web opposite the exposure surface. The roof support with integral gutter is made by the pultrusion process, which eliminates the need for additional and separate components to provide rigidity and strength to the roof support.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a storage shed that is strong, durable, low-maintenance, easy to assemble and use, and relatively inexpensive to manufacture and ship, and can be mass produced. In one embodiment, a storage shed comprises a preformed floor; a plurality of preformed, plastic corner posts having bottoms which are configured to be mounted onto the floor to be spaced from each other, and two preformed, plastic braces having bottoms which are configured to be mounted onto the floor to be spaced from one another. A preformed roof truss is configured to be connected to tops of the two braces. The roof truss has a spring preload to pull the tops of the two braces toward one another. A preformed roof is attached to tops of the plurality of corner posts. A preformed front door is supported between two of the plurality of corner posts.

Abstract: A kit for a securable enclosure having a front opening. The kit is placeable selectively in an assembled state and a disassembled state. The kit includes a top panel, first and second side panels, a rear panel, and first and second connector parts. The top panel, first and second panels, and rear panel are connected to each other to bound a storage space accessible through the front opening. The first connector part is fixedly attached to one of the top panel, first side panel, second side panel, and rear panel. The second connector part is fixedly attached to another one of the top panel, first side panel, second side panel, and rear panel. The first and second connector parts are connectable, each to the other, without any additional separate parts, to maintain the one and the another of the top panel, first side panel, second side panel, and rear panel, together with the kit in the assembled state.

Abstract: A below grade utilities connections vault is disclosed. The vault of the present invention comprises a concrete box with lockable, hinged lid. A floor platform lies at a distance above the bottom of the box such that utilities cables enter the box below the level of the floor. A hinged utilities wiring frame is mounted to the wall opposite the lid hinge such that the frame hinges down into the box when the vault is closed and into a vertical position for making connections. A safety barrier is formed by the lid, the wiring frame, and barrier arms which hinge between them surrounds the vault, when open. A venting system provides egress for gasses and equalization of pressure between the interior and exterior of the vault.

Abstract: An adjustable mid-panel spillover fitting is disclosed. The fitting includes a base, a cover securable to the base, and a cover cap securable to the base and the cover. The base has a spillover side, and the cover has an opening on a side wall thereof for receiving the spillover side. The cover has a shelf extending toward the side wall, and the cover cap has a groove for receiving the shelf therein. The cover cap includes at least one latch on an inside surface thereof for securing the cover cap to the base in a plurality of predetermined positions, and the cover cap is adjustable between the plurality of predetermined positions.

Abstract: The waiting station (1) designed to be set on a sidewalk (2) at the immediate edge of a street or a track comprises a protective wall (29) on its front lateral surface. Access to the station is gained through its lateral surfaces or through the rear. Its interior space is divided into a long-term waiting area (13) preceded by a short-term waiting area (14). This station comprises a passageway for boarding-disembarking that opens on the track side onto a threshold (22) marking the position of an entry door of the vehicle when it is stopped. The threshold (22) is surmounted by a canopy (25) extending from the roof (9) of the station and overhanging the entryway of the vehicle to form a protected access path to the vehicle. This invention is of interest to those responsible for urban planning and to manufacturers of urban equipment and public transportation vehicles.

Abstract: A workspace system includes a working region and a plurality of work surfaces or desktops placed in the working region. The working region provides a first environment suitable for a right hemisphere-dominant job, a second environment suitable for a left hemisphere-dominant job, a third environment different from the first and the second environments, and a seating area in which a job performer takes a seat. Accordingly, the desktops may include a first desktop for the first environment, a second desktop for the second environment, and a third desktop for the third environment. The three working environments are arranged about the seating area. The first, the second and the third desktops are different in e.g. feel, material, shape and color from each other.

Abstract: A fitting room (11) as a dressing room is adapted to have its entrance (12) opened and closed by drawing a curtain (14). The curtain is suspended from the tip ends of beam members of a curtain suspension apparatus (15) mounted on a ceiling plate (17). When closing the entrance (12), the curtain suspension apparatus (15) can deploy the curtain (14) in such a manner as to spread it outwardly relative to the fitting room (11) with respect to the entrance (12). The interior space closed with the curtain (14) can thus be enlarged when the curtain (14) is closed to use the fitting room (11). When the curtain (14) is opened, the space that was occupied by the curtain (14) when it was closed can be used for other purposes.

Abstract: A system for defining a plurality of work zones within an otherwise open area. The system includes a framework formed from a plurality of spaced apart poles extending upward from a base surface. The poles are interconnected by a plurality of crossbeams at a height substantially above a standing user. At least some of the poles are adapted to provide a raceway for the delivery of utilities. The system also includes a height-adjustable light fixture connected to the crossbeams. The light fixture extends outward from the crossbeams and is capable of projecting a light beam directly downward on the work zone of a user.

Abstract: A portable motor-vehicle workshop has a plurality of rigid rectangular I-beam reinforced floor panels, bolts securing the floor panels together to form a planar horizontal floor, and a plurality of portals each having a pair of spaced vertical lower posts having lower ends secured to the floor, respective angled connector beams extending inward and upward at acute angles from upper ends of the lower posts, respective upper posts extending vertically from upper ends of the angled beams, and a horizontal connector beam extending between upper ends of the respective upper posts. A plurality of panels are bolted to the posts and beams of the portals and enclose a space above the floor. A lift on the floor can raise a vehicle up between the upper posts.

Abstract: A space-dividing covered work space arrangement including a pair of opposed side modules each of a three-wall construction defined by an upright panel arrangement and a pair of upright end walls disposed at opposite ends thereof and projecting inwardly therefrom. A pair of canopies project inwardly from each of the opposed modules and are attached along inner edges thereof so as to define a continuous canopy assembly which overlies and encloses the work space from above.

Abstract: ADA-compliant, portable bathroom modules provide safe, easily installed complete or partial bathrooms in a room of a home or building and are easily removed when no longer needed, without permanently changing the appearance of the home or building. The units form an enclosed structure having a roof with a ventilation fan, and door. The modular design allows a complete bathroom or a portion thereof to be selected, as desired, by the user. The complete model includes a shower module, a toilet module and an intermediate hallway/center module. A portion of a complete bathroom includes a shower module or toilet module alone (⅓ unit), or together with a hallway/center module (⅔ unit) to enhance access. The complete bathroom or portions thereof may include a back flush toilet and sewage ejection pump to accommodate installation on a concrete slab, an integral (instantaneous) water heater to allow a cold water only hook-up, and a wall mounted body dryer.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for support automatic teller machines (ATM's). A framework is formed and adapted to house the ATM. A support plate is positioned within the framework and is adapted to be linearly movable between two positions. The first position places the support plate entirely within the framework. The second position allows the support plate to at least partially protrude from the framework. The plate is then simply supported rather than by cantilever. Simply supporting the plate may include coupling the plate to the frame work with a pivotal linkage assembly.

Abstract: A gazebo is fabricated utilizing a novel construction system wherein lightweight aluminum framing components are employed. A preferred structure has eight sides wherein each side includes a pair of vertical posts, a pair of header members, a rail and foot member, columns disposed between the rail and foot member and the pair of header members, and an insulated composite roof panel. An entrance way is void of the rail and foot member, but can be employed with the necessary framing components to attach a door. As each side unit is attached by self mating beam and vertical post members to an adjacent side unit, the gazebo structure is formed. A crown portion can be attached upon an apex of the gazebo. Shingles or tiles can be attached upon the roof panels. Spline grooves formed along the vertical posts permit the gazebo to be “screened in.

Abstract: A portable security housing is formed from a framework defining an interior space for enclosing items to be secured, such as vending machines. The framework has a rear wall, opposite side walls, an upper wall, and a front access opening. Opaque panels are secured over at least the side and upper walls to cover the housing, with the rear wall placed against a building wall or the like. A roll-up, sectional door is rotatably mounted at the upper end of the front access opening for movement between a rolled up, storage position above the front opening and an unrolled, downwardly extended deployed position covering and closing the front opening. The housing has floor mounting pads at its base for releasably mounting the housing on a floor or ground surface.

Abstract: A utility shed is disclosed comprising modular side panels (30) which are connected together by corner connectors (26) and in-line connectors (28) to form sidewalls. The connectors (26, 28) have an I-beam cross section and comprise U-shaped ends (106, 80) which engage relatively wide channels (62, 64) to securely hold the wall panels together. A door assembly is provided for engaging the corner connectors (26) and include pivot pin members (202) which attached to the vertical channel (114) of corner connectors (26) and allow pivotal door panels (164) to be suspended therefrom. Floor panels (116, 118) and lid panels (154) are provided compatible with the I-beam edge configuration of the side panels (30) such that the lid, floor and sidewalls mutually interlock with high structural integrity. The modularity of the side panels (30) allow for enclosures of larger or smaller size to be created using the same panel componentry.

Abstract: In order to provide a portable room suited for human use, the room is provided with a plurality of walls including three solid wall panels and a fourth wall panel defining a door opening for receiving a door therein. The room also includes a door hingedly mounted for movement between opened and closed positions relative to the door opening defined by the fourth wall panel. Each of the wall panels has a wall supporting post operatively associated with at least one of the opposite ends thereof The room also includes hinge means joining each of the wall panels to an adjacent wall panel for collapsible folding movement of the wall panels relative to each other. With this arrangement, a removable ceiling is supported on the wall panels and, in a preferred embodiment, cooperates with the wall panels to maintain adjacent ones in substantially perpendicular relation.
