By incorporating a flexible elastic water resistive barrier into the lath furring strip, when the flexible elastic waterproof barrier on the lath furring strip is squeezed by the force of a screw or nail that secures the lath furring strip to a sheathing or moisture barrier (such as building paper), any holes in the sheathing or moisture barrier which might have allowed water to seep from the plaster to the sheathing will be sealed due to the properties of the flexible elastic water resistive barrier covering those holes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a lath furring strip having improved water-resistant and insulation features. The lath furring strip has portions of the mounting leg height not exceeding 0.365 inches for proper plastering of a wall. The lath furring strip is integrated into other architectural structures such as reveals, expansion joints and window flange coverings. By integrating these structures with a lath furring strip having water proofing features, there is increased water proofing of the entire architectural structure. One or more moisture barriers can easily be applied to the wall or furring strips that prevents seepage of moisture from the stucco on the lath to a wall or framing. By using an improved lath furring strip, fewer penetrations are needed to secure the furring strip to a wall compared to securing a lath directly to a wall.

Abstract: Connectors for joining adjacent modular floor covering units. The connectors include a film and an adhesive layer coated on one side of the film. To install tiles using the connectors, a first tile is placed on the floor and a connector is positioned so that the adhesive layer faces upward and does not contact the floor. The connector is typically positioned so that only a portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the underside of the tile, leaving the remainder of the connector extending from the underside of the tile. Tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on a underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface.

  • Patent number: 8327598
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to a modular blocking panel system for a rack. The modular blocking panel system consists of multiple standardized panels which snap-together, or slidably attach to one another, in order to fill openings of any size in a rack. The panels connect to one another so that there is a seal at the junction between the panels. The seal blocks hot air in the interior of the rack from seeping through the panels and mixing with the cold air supply on the exterior of the panels. Multiple panels can be combined to create a single modular panel to cover any sized opening.

Abstract: The wainscot wall panel system may comprise a plurality of panels which are mounted to a wall. The plurality of panels are mounted to the wall with a plurality of horizontal joints including but not limited to a bottom edge joint and a top edge joint and one or more intermediate or middle horizontal joints. Each of the joints are attached to the wall and used to mount the panel to the wall. In particular, the joints may have panels which mechanically receive the panels so that no adhesive or chemical attachment methods are necessary in order to mount the panels to the wall. This reduces the exposure of toxic chemicals to the occupants of the building and permits air to flow behind the panels, thereby mitigating the creation of mold.

Abstract: This invention offers a kind of magnetic material, which especially refers to wall tiles and floor tiles. This invention contains a building material(1) and at least a magnetic body(3). A magnetic body(3) is connected to the back side or inner part of a building material(1) to make a building material(1) magnetic; and above mentioned a magnetic body(3) can stick to metal sheet(2) and connect to the back of building material(1) to make the front side of building material(1) has large size magnetic effects. By the ways above mentioned, this invention can reach the effects easy to stick and take without ruining its surface.

  • Patent number: 8316594
Abstract: A replacement or repair stair tread assembly for covering over an existing worn stair tread includes a core that is surrounded by hardwood edge members, of which at least on edge has a bullnose. The edge members and core are mated at tongue and groove joints. The bullnose has a greater depth of section than the core. The core is a multi-ply matrix with veneer surface skins of the same grain orientation and type of wood. The multiple plies are arranged such that successive layers have cross-wise grain orientation. The plies of the core have symmetrically balanced properties relative to the neutral axis or neutral plane of the core in bending, both cross-wise and length-wise. The balanced properties may pertain to water absorption and to resistance to bending.
