Patent number: 6351595Abstract: Disclosed is a method for fine recording of video frames at the contiguous recording portion on the video tape. The fine recording is accomplished by inserting a position identification code, which is generated in a serial order, into every frame of a video signal, recording the resultant video signal on a video tape, memorizing the position identification code of the last frame recorded on the tape when the recording is stopped temporarily, and locating the starting track of the subsequent recording correctly by using the memorized position identification codes when the temporary stop mode is canceled. Thus, the method avoids overlap and eliminates a blank section between the last track of the preceding recorded video signal and the beginning track of the subsequent recorded video signal, which often occur at the recording joint portion on the video tape when the tape is abruptly driven at an initial transient movement due to mode transition between the recording and pause modes.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1998Date of Patent: February 26, 2002Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventor: Hyun-Sang Kim

Patent number: 5937603Abstract: Improvements in a roof covering system include the use of flexible pouches containing heavy, dense materials such as dense oil and sand. These pouches are compressed between supports, such as parapet walls and pipes, and fixtures mounted on the supports, resulting in improved sealing against water seapage into the roof.Another improvement is in the provision of a storage tank of sealing material such as tar to help maintain the level required for adequate protection of roofing materials against adverse weather conditions. The additional provision of a wetted layer between two water impermeable layers allows for better temperature control of the roofing materials. Temperature controlled water can be circulated through this wetted layer using a system of spiralling pipes with an underground water storage area of larger spiral piping.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1997Date of Patent: August 17, 1999Inventor: Bernard Zeidler

Patent number: 5608993Abstract: A sheet metal mini-wall parapet structure is provided. The structure is basically a U-shaped member formed of sheet metal. At one lower corner of the U-shaped member is formed the cleat used to attach the conventional coping member. The cleat is formed by extending one leg of the U-shaped member downwardly and folding it over in a continuous fashion with an extension from the bottom of the U-shaped member. The upright legs of the U-shaped member are staggered in height so that when a top member is attached, the top member is sloped in one direction so that any water accumulating on the top of the mini-wall parapet is drained toward the roof. The top member is usually of 3/4" pressure treated plywood which is screwed into bent over flanges along the tops of each leg of the U-shaped member. Before the top member is screwed into place, the void within the sheet metal legs can be filled with insulation to minimize heat loss through the mini-wall parapet.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1996Date of Patent: March 11, 1997Inventor: John G.
