  • Patent number: 8875469
Abstract: A sleeve for protecting from deterioration and anchoring an embedded end of a post in the ground. The sleeve, molded from unperforated, resilient material, conforms to the exterior post dimensions and extends for at least the desired embedment distance. One or more inwardly projecting notches are cut into the post. The sleeve includes one or more reversible snap domes molded into the sleeve at locations coinciding with the post notches. The snap domes flex to an outwardly concave position as the post is being inserted into the sleeve and then snap to an inwardly concave position once the post is fully installed and the snap domes align with the notches. The inward concavity of the snap domes extends into and engages the post notches to prevent the sleeve from being removed from the post. When embedded into the ground, backfill material prevents the snap dome from being deflected into the outward concavity position, thus anchoring both post and sleeve in the ground.

  • Patent number: 4135432
Abstract: An anchor for insertion into a hole in a wall having an undercut groove extending therearound, the anchor having an elongated body with a bore therethrough, the bore being threaded at its outer end and tapering down in diameter toward the inner end of the body and slotted to permit expansion when a tapered pin is inserted therein. The body has an annular locking collar about its expandable portion placed to enter the groove when expanded. The groove and locking collar precisely interfit and are spaced from the inner end of the hole and the anchor body by a distance at least as great as the axial width of the collar. A screw member fits in the bore and has a pusher pin which pushes the expansion pin all the way into the bore when the member is screwed partway into the threaded bore portion, leaving part of the screw protruding from the body and the hole.

  • Patent number: 4130977
Abstract: An improved slotted channel device for anchoring of bolted metal framing systems to concrete walls, ceilings or forms, which device is shaped to provide a front half section having parallel sides with inturned lips adapted to receive a rectangular locking nut which engages the parallel sides and is restricted from turning and a rear half section having sides which flare outwardly in the form of a wedge and serve as an anchor when the device is embedded in concrete.

  • Patent number: 4123882
Abstract: A concrete slab or panel poured in its horizontal position is fitted with anchor inserts embedded in the concrete that receive releasable pickup units or devices for connection of the panel to a hoist. Each insert has a tubular member of a relatively short length to which a hollow plastic mold is attached that extends into the panel. The mold for the most part remains in the panel and forms a cavity into which part of the pickup device extends. The pickup device has a trunion plate that is placed across the insert opening in the panel. A housing extends through a hole in the trunnion plate into the insert and defines an internal cavity disposed inwardly of the insert. A bore communicates an end of the housing outside the panel with the housing cavity. An axially movable actuator rod or plunger is disposed in the bore and includes a head disposed in the cavity and formed of contiguous cylindrical and conical portions.
