Patent number: 7188399Abstract: In the disclosed method of fitting a fixed flush glazed window of a high-speed rail vehicle, a first edge of the window is first placed from the exterior of the vehicle in a groove situated on a horizontal portion of the window frame, after which the window is tilted to move the opposite second edge of the window toward the opposite horizontal portion of the window frame, and finally the opposite second edge is fixed to the opposite horizontal portion of the window frame from inside the vehicle. Thus there is no mechanical fixing to the horizontal portion of the window where the groove is located, so that it is no longer necessary to demount all of the interior fittings when changing a window, while fixing the other horizontal portion from the inside minimizes the width of the mastic. Furthermore, installation from the outside means that the window may be fitted independently of the position of the vehicle on the assembly line, since whether the interior fittings have been fitted or not is of no importance.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2004Date of Patent: March 13, 2007Assignee: AlstomInventors: Emigliano Campus, Christophe Pailler

Publication number: 20030150174Abstract: A double glass system is disclosed in which not only the sunbeams are completely shielded, but also the firefighting is made easier at a fire accident. An incombustible or combustion-resistant liquid with a pigment added therein is used as the solution to be supplied into the double glass. Thus the double glass can shield the sight and the sunbeams, and can serve as a compartment wall, while it is helpful to firefighting at a fire accident, because the solution generates a fire-suppressing gas upon being burned. Thus the functions of the double glass are diversified. Further, an opaque liquid such as mercury is used in place of the solution, so that a sunbeam-shielding effect, a sight blocking effect (to the required degree) and a mirror effect can be obtained. Mercury is supplied into double glass by expanding the mercury and the air by heating them, and therefore, a driving means such as pump is not required.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2002Publication date: August 14, 2003Applicant: Korea Houghton CorporationInventor: Kwang Soon Kim

Publication number: 20030131557Abstract: The glazing panel, conform the present invention, comprises a panel of thermoplastic material provided with a three-dimensional decorative pattern. The latter includes elevated portions projecting outwardly from the three-dimensional decorative pattern and also simulated joints dividing the three-dimensional decorative pattern into the elevated portions. Each simulated joint has a transversal profile shaped into a groove with a flat bottom. A peripheral flat flange surrounds the elevated portions and the simulated joints as well and is connected to both by an inclined portion. An elevation L1, measured between the elevated portions and the flat bottoms, is lesser than an overall height L2, measured between the elevated portions and the peripheral flat flange. The elevated portions the flat bottoms and the peripheral flat flange are parallel to each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2002Publication date: July 17, 2003Inventor: Peter Paffen

Publication number: 20030131558Abstract: A multipane window unit is provided in which a sash frame is formed having an integral spacing structure upon which glazing panes are directly affixed. The spacing structure is formed integrally with the sash frame at internal glazing surfaces. Adhesive can be affixed to the internal glazing surfaces to attach the glazing panes. In this manner, a rigid, structural sash frame can be formed prior to attachment of the glazing panes, thereby eliminating the need for using separately manufactured insulating glass units while obtaining similar and improved benefits.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2003Publication date: July 17, 2003Applicant: Sashlite, LLCInventor: John S.
