Abstract: This invention relates to an optical information recording medium comprising a substrate provided at least with an underlayer and a recording layer thereon, said underlayer being prepared by curing a light-curable composition containing a reducing agent, a photo-polymerization initiator and acrylate monomer and/or methacrylate monomer and/or their corresponding oligomer.
Abstract: The present invention provides a photosensitive resin composition used to form a top resist layer of a multilayer resist system, the composition comprising a photosensitive polyphenylsilsesquioxane represented by the following general formula (I) of: ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of acryloyloxymethyl, methacryloyloxymethyl, and cinnamoyloxymethyl; and l, m and n are zero or positive integers but l and m do not take the value of zero simultaneously; and a bisazide compound added to act as a cross-linking agent. The photosensitive resin composition has high sensitivity to UV light and excellent resistance to reactive ion etching under oxygen gas (O.sub.2 RIE).

Abstract: A biologically compatible adhesive that is shelf stable as a single component adhesive and includes a mixture of an adhesive promoting and polymerizable monomer system having a free radical polymerizable monomer or prepolymer having ethylenic unsaturation and a phosphorus containing adhesion promoter, a free radical polymerization catalyst, and an accelerator for the catalyst, the accelerator selected from the group consisting of sulfinic acid or salt thereof, amine or amine salt and mixtures thereof.
Abstract: Products formed from chlorosulfonyl isocyanate either by sequentially reaction of a hydroxy functional compound followed by reaction of the sulfonyl chloride group with a primary or secondary amine, or by reaction of chlorosulfonyl isocyanate with an excess of primary or secondary amine, are cure accelerators for acrylic compositions. Depending on the choice of alcohol or amine, the accelerator may be functionalized so that it is bound or bindable to an organic or silicone polymer backbone or contains other desirable functionality such as peroxy, photosensitizer, or acrylic groups.
Abstract: A UV and thermally curable composition comprising(1) a liquid, ethylenically unsaturated monomer, oligomer or prepolymer of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is H or CH.sub.3, R.sub.1 is an organic moiety and n is at least 2,(2) a thermal initiator for (1) selected from the group consisting of substituted or unsubstituted pinacols, azo compounds, thiurams, organic peroxides and mixtures thereof,(3) a photoinitiator for (1) selected from the group consisting of aldehyde and ketone carbonyl compounds having at least one aromatic nucleus attached directly to the ##STR2## group, benzoin alkyl ethers, diethoxyacetophenone and 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone,(4) a thermoplastic material, and(5) a non-polymerizable plasticizer for (4).The exposure of the composition to UV radiation under atmospheric conditions and heat in seriatim results in a cured solid product which can be utilized as adhesives, coatings, gaskets, sealants, resists and the like.
Abstract: There is disclosed a resin composition comprising(A) a spiro ortho ester compound and/or a spiro ortho carbonate compound;(B) an aluminum compound; and(C) a silanol compound or a silicon compound which is capable of generating a silanol group;the amounts of components (B) and (C) being within the range of 0.001 to 10% by weight and 0.1 to 20% by weiht, based on the amount of component (A), respectively. The resin composition of this invention is excellent in volumetric shrinkage performance at curing operation and is good in storability. Therefore, the cured product can be used for a wide variety of industrially valuable applications, such as an ink, a coating, an adhesive, a surface coating, an encapsulation and an electrical insulating material.
