    Abstract: The present invention is for a log made from wastes from forestry and the like material. The invention also is for means and method for the production of such log. The log comprises a sheath which surrounds the compressed forestry wastes of the log. A log according to the invention is produced by that forestry wastes is compressed. The goods are fed to a delimited space which corresponds to the outer shape of the log. In this space the goods are rotated around the lengthwise axis of the log to be during compression after which a holding, moisture releasing sheath is applied during rotation. In the compriming engine the log is formed inside the space which is defined by the compression rolls and the side walls including their movable side wall parts.

A power operated brake operates on the supply roll so as to provide a constant tension in the wrapping medium during wrapping operation.

The force applied by the packaging material as it is wrapped around the guide is supported by both the rail and the at least one row of non-driven wheels. The rail also serves to bridge any gaps between the non-driven wheels, thereby preventing capture of packaging material between the non-driven wheels. Preferably, the packaging material guide includes two rows of non-driven wheels, one on each side of the rail. Further, it is preferable that the rail connect the two rows of wheels such that the two rows of wheels form an angle of 60 degrees between them.

    Abstract: A semi-automatic round baler having an “auto kick” or “auto wrap” mode. In the auto kick mode, at the conclusion of the forming cycle the baler will stop and await the operator's signal to continue. Once the operator has signaled to continue, the baler will wrap the bale and will immediately proceed to the ejecting cycle. In auto wrap mode, the baler will automatically enter into and complete the wrapping cycle (after a short delay) following completion of the forming cycle. At the conclusion of the wrapping cycle in the auto wrap mode, the baler will await the operator's signal before ejecting the completed bale.

    Abstract: A baler (10) for wrapping a rotating bale (52) of crop material (26) with strands of twine (72) has two twine tubes (68) through which the twine is fed so that ends of the strands dangle from the tubes. A bale density sensor (36) senses bale density and a controller (42) compares the sensed density with a desired density selected by an operator via an operator control panel (34). When the sensed density reaches about half the desired density the twine tubes are moved to a twine insert position so that the ends of the strands dangle adjacent the rotating bale. When a full bale has been formed, a duckbill (60) is actuated to push the ends of the strands toward the bale where they are caught up in the crop material. If either strand is not caught up in the rotating bale, the operator may abort the wrap cycle and initiate a new wrap cycle by pressing a wrap key on the control panel.

    Abstract: A large round baler is equipped with a wrapping device for wrapping a bale with a web of plastic net wrapping material. The device includes a pair of wrap material feed rolls arranged one above the other with a supply roll of wrapping material being directly supported by the upper feed roll so that during operation of the feed rolls in dispensing a length of wrap material being wrapped about a bale, the periphery of the supply roll is rotated at the same speed as the periphery of the upper feed roll so that no scrubbing takes place between the supply and feed rolls. A pressure applying device uses a pair of air or gas cylinders acting through a linkage to force a freely rotating roller to exert a force on the supply roll which is transferred through the roll to the feed roll. In this way variable friction forces are avoided which would interfere with the maintenance of a desired constant tension in the length of wrapping material so that the bale is wrapped tightly, but without rupturing the net material.

A device of the above type is advantageously utilised in a method for applying a wrapping round a cyclindrical roll of bags.

    Abstract: A machine and method of operation thereof to pick-up individual bales of hay or other forage material from the field to create a package of individual bales that is silage-wrapped with plastic before being discharged back to the ground. The receiving table is pivotally supported on the frame of the machine to provide the ability to re-orient the package for wrapping plastic about orthogonal axes. A clamping and elevating mechanism is operable to lift layers of individual bales to permit the formation of subsequent layers therebeneath until the desired package size has been completed. The clamping members are rotatably mounted to allow rotation of the elevated package for wrapping plastic around the periphery thereof. Ejection of the wrapped package is accomplished by pivoting the telescopic members mounting the clamping members to a horizontal orientation and releasing the package. The reversal of the discharge process can be utilized to retrieve wrapped packages from the field.
