Patent number: 4552598Abstract: Ethylenediamine salt of 5-nitrotetrazole and preparation. This salt has been found to be useful as an explosive alone and in eutectic mixtures with ammonium nitrate and/or other explosive compounds. Its eutectic with ammonium nitrate has been demonstrated to behave in a similar manner to a monomolecular explosive such as TNT, and is less sensitive than the pure salt. Moreover, this eutectic mixture, which contains 87.8 mol % of ammonium nitrate, is close to the CO.sub.2 -balanced composition of 90 mol %, and has a relatively low melting point of 110.5 C. making it readily castable. The ternary eutectic system containing the ethylenediamine salt of 5-nitrotetrazole, ammonium nitrate and ethylenediamine dinitrate has a eutectic temperature of 89.5 C. and gives a measured detonation pressure of 24.8 GPa, which is 97.6% of the calculated value. Patent number: 4374143Abstract: The invention relates to novel 2-aryliminohexahydropyrimidines and imidazolidines, of the formula ##STR1## as well as to salts and complexes thereof, having fungicidal activity. These compounds are particularly active against rust of beans, brown rust of wheat and mildew on cereals. After having been processed into compositions, the compounds of the invention can successfully be used to prevent or control mould infections in agriculture and horticulture in a dosage of 200-1000 g of active substance per hectare.Very active fungicides are, for example, 2-(4-cyclohexyl-phenyl) iminohexahydropyrimidine and 2-(4-n-hexyl-phenyl) iminohexahydropyrimidine, as well as the sulphuric acid salts of these compounds and complexes with zinc salts.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1981Date of Patent: February 15, 1983Assignee: Duphar International Research B.V.Inventors: Hendrik Dolman, Johannes Kuipers

Patent number: 4355161Abstract: A new composition of matter comprising molybdenum trioxide and heterocyclic nitrogen or oxygen Lewis bases. The molybdenum trioxide, upon reaction with Lewis base, forms a layered compound characterized in that the Lewis base is covalently bonded to molybdenum atoms in molybdenum oxide layers. The layered compound has the formula LMoO.sub.3 where L is a Lewis base containing nitrogen or oxygen electron donors and selected from the group consisting of 5- and 6-membered heterocyclic amines, amine oxides, triorganophosphates, phosphine oxides and sulfoxides. L has the steric requirement such that its cross-sectional area perpendicular to an axis running through the L-Mo covalent bond is less than about 30(A).sup.2.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1980Date of Patent: October 19, 1982Assignee: Exxon Research and Engineering Co.Inventors: Jack W. Johnson, Allan J. Jacobson

Patent number: 4321390Abstract: A process for the preparation of insoluble metal complex colorants of the formula ##STR1## where R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be identical or different and each is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, chlorine, bromine, trifluoromethyl or phenyl,Me is copper, cobalt or preferably nickel,Z is NH, O or S andA is one equivalent of an anion,by condensing the corresponding 1,3-diiminoisoindoline and thiazolidine derivative in the molar ratio of 1:1 in water, isolating the 1:1 condensation product, reacting the latter with a metal salt MeA.sub.2 in an aprotic polar water-miscible solvent and isolating the reaction product. The water-containing press cake of the 1:1 condensation product can be used for the reaction with the metal salt MeA.sub.2, in which case the water, together with a part of the solvent, is distilled off during the reaction in which (I) is formed. The process has great economic advantages over the prior art processes.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1980Date of Patent: March 23, 1982Assignee: BASF AktiengesellschaftInventor: Volker Radtke
