  • Patent number: 7789921
Abstract: Portable devices for mitigating the accumulation and localized settling of airborne particulates are provided. The devices establish airflow patterns which push or carry various airborne particulates outwardly away therefrom, thereby establishing a localized zone having relatively fewer airborne particulates. Correspondingly, each the devices establishes a localized zone, defined circumferentially about the perimeter of the device, in which there is relatively less surface accumulation of particulates which were previously airborne and settled out. The devices establish such airflow patterns by proving a fan which draws a volume of air axially through a top portion of the device, then pushes the volume of air axially down through the device where it is radially emitted from the bottom portion of the device, defining a circumferentially expanding plane of airflow.

The cap has sidewall and endwall pre-filtering screens, and when the sidewall screens become loaded with debris, the endwall screen permits air to flow through a gap between the cap and the lid to the filter media strip.

  • Patent number: 7001448
Abstract: A system for separating an entrained liquid component from a gas stream employing at least one vortex tube having a liquid outlet end and a wet gas inlet tangential to its sidewall and arranged so that wet gas rotates within the vortex tube to cause the liquid components to be forced against the interior wall surface by centrifugal action. An orifice plate closes the vortex tube first end and has a concentric gas outlet opening therein. A vortex finder tube extends concentrically within the vortex tube providing an annular area between itself and the vortex tube internal wall. A gas deflector is positioned within the annular area and has a downwardly spiraled surface that diverts wet gas downwardly away from the wet gas inlet. In one embodiment, an outlet tube is affixed to the orifice plate central opening and is configured to divert outlet gas downwardly. In another embodiment, an energy absorbing housing surrounds the vortex tube liquid outlet end.

Abstract: An air intake scoop for a motorcycle carburetor inserts into the carburetor mouth while also fitting within the air filter housing. The air scoop being designed with a cutout in front, a ridge along the interior and a 90-degree angle for the ability to draw a strong airflow into the carburetor, preventing gas mist from escaping from the carburetor. This air intake scoop would be molded preferably of polyurethane or other gas and oil resistant plastic or rubber, and would be easily adapted to fit a variety of different sizes of carburetors and air filter housings. An air filter cover with a forward air opening admits a strong current of air into the air filter and air intake scoop on clear days and has a closeable lid to prevent water from entering the carburetor on rainy days.

Abstract: A grill assembly of a cyclone dust-collecting apparatus for a vacuum cleaner may improve the capability of dust-collecting of the vacuum cleaner by reducing the amount of the filth drawn into a vacuum-generating device of the vacuum cleaner through a grill. The grill assembly may be disposed at an inlet of an air-discharging passage of a cyclone body that separates filth from a whirling air current by centrifugal force. The whirling air current may prevent the filth from being drawn into the vacuum-generating device of the vacuum cleaner. The grill assembly may include a grill body and a plurality of passages disposed therein. An extended line of the centerline of the passages may form an acute angle with a streamline of the whirling air current.
